You cannot say Capcom is the King of 2D when you cannot name a game to back that statement up.... but u can't name da king of 2D tho. or can u? I don't consider anyone the Kings of 2D because there not many awesome 2D games that have been released recently.... But you consider Capcom the Kings of 2D...So I just wanted to know which is a recent 2D capcom release that didn't suck... What is the most recent Capcom release btw?

The layout needs a bit of an overhaul, but looks nice contentwise...there's always room for improvement though.

If he tells me who he thinks the best 2D fighting game making company then it's okay for him to talk but he only says Capcom's not da king but didn't say who is da king tho ForceX voted for SEGA earlier because of Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution.

So, just wondering, did you like the game (Vagrant Story) overall. If not, what annoyed you about the game? I'm asking because I don't have the option of renting this first before buying. Obviously since the game is a bit old, I can't find anyplace that rents it out. I do know a place I can buy a new copy so... Also wondering how I'd do considering that strategy guides are no longer in print. Well, there's always online faqs, but I never liked those for many reasons. If you want my honest opinion....It's one of Squaresoft's masterpieces IMO, but the battle system take a lot of getting used to... and some people start pulling their hair out once they gotten past the first 10-15 mins of gameplay. Why? Because the battle system revolves around timing and the presence of RISK. As the character strikes with his sword, the RISK meter goes up. As it goes up, you have better chances of dealing criticals...But in turn, your accuracy drops. So picture this: You're battling with a huge boss, and your RISK is max (100). Most of your attacks get whiffed or they cause 0 damage. Get my point?Some see it as a curse and some see it as a way to extend the battle system. Secondly, the game is quite hard. I've had it for quite a while and still haven't been able to beat it. Thirdly, the game gives you a whole lot to customize in terms of equipment. I suck at putting things together from various materials, so this wasn't my thing. Take my ranting any way you like, but I would urge you to test it before you form an opinion based on mine; who knows, you might like it.

What was so great about the old "Gouken"? I've been using that name for 2 years now. I think it's a time for change in my life seeing as, well... so much is changing in my life. I feel like a totally different person. Yes, much darker, but not as dark as -VIOLENCE-, he pretty much rules us all in that catagory. Oh and I've gotten back into art as you can see, once I feel like my abilities are up to it, I'll start taking request's for tag's and av's. It's not like I don't like you now.

But still... I think that appropriate sections are a good thing. I post in every section if I got something to say.

Are you in the US? Unfortunately, I think US is the only place you can get it for 20 bucks. I think it was due to Sony starting some crap with Sega saying VF won't sell, so the only way they'd be allowed to release it in the states was to lower the price to the Greatest Hits price. More and more, I don't hear very good things about Sony it seems. No, I live in the 50Hz hell called Yurp.

Heh. You get the most out of fighting games when both players have equal skills. Besides, there's more to Soul Calibur II than just generic short combos.

I think you shouldn't worry. Zophar's Domain has been around for ages and will come back, in one form of another.

The box puzzles in Vagrant Story aren't that hard. It's the fighting system that you either hate with a passion or then you love it. Wild ARMs 3 gets my vote...and Dark Chronicle.

People here seem to be kind of stuck in Current Affairs talking about Neo-Geo and the upcoming consoles. We should have more retro talk.

Soul Calibur II is definitely not easy to master. The gameplay would get rather monotonous if all moves would be simple, combos make SCII more enjoyable. Although, I'm not too fond of games that rely on combos alone. i.e. Marvel vs. Capcom 1&2, Marvel vs. Street Fighter, X-Men...Don't get me wrong, I love these games as well, but there should be more to a game than simply mastering 20+ hitting air combos and juggles.

What are you talking about. Their costumes change color, thats good enough for me /me like the multiple color choices in Guilty Gear X2. Ryuken, SCII doesn't suck, to say such a thing is blasphemy on your part. But alas, these are just opinions.

Errr Capcom used to be the kings of 2D but their last good fighting game was SF3 3rd Strike.... And yes Namco is good but their games are no way near VF4 Evo..... quite true. Yu Suzuki and SEGA's AM2 team are wizards. Got to give props to VF when it's due. Although, Nacom and Soul Caliburs/Tekkens are sweet as well. I don't really like ranking these companies, because all their games are good.

Yes...I am. Another thing we did was we stole chloroform from the organic chemistry lab and made this junior unconscious. Then we taped him to the wall and pelted him with water balloons. We got Tier 3 punishment for that. Some junior saw us and ratted us out. So later on in the school year, we got back at him When he was sleeping, we picked his lock and tied him to the bed and beat with belts. It was awesome!
