I don't know about the rest, but you can see the CRC of a specific file inside an archive by making the CRC row visible. In Winzip, this is done from the configuration dialog.

m1d means that the rom file is part of a decrypted romset. No, you could not rename a P2 to an S1. Why? Because P2 handles the program code and S1 contains the text. How would a simple rename change anything? On an encrypted board the data of some rom is contained inside another rom data, to throw off dumpers. Renaming the file does not make the data usable. Alas, you can't substitute a rom file with another, different one.

You can't prepatch a rom to use graphics packs. If you want graphics pack emulation without the actual packs, use Snes9x. ZSNES supports real-time SDD-1 decompression in the next official release. Far East of Eden Shounen Jump gfx packs were never released, because of their enourmous size. (Need dat trimming) SPL4 packs were never released. Only The Dumper, CaithSith2, Mkendora and possibly Pagefault have them. Street Fighter Alpha 2 E version doesn't have gfx packs, same goes for the J version (actually, it had ones, but they were at an alpha stage). Packs for the U version can (maybe) be found at the DeJap site. If they are not there, do some Googling. I'm not sure about the fate of Momotaru Densetsu Happy, I'll do some digging...

What? FFX-2? I'm guessing you mean the European release or something, because it's already been out in the US since December. Either way, I wouldn't get my hopes up. I dunno, overall I didn't really like it that much -- but then, I never had much expectation to begin with. Personally, the story is crap, but I did like the fast-paced battle system; but that's probably the only plus. There hasn't been a decent RPG out in a long time... Maybe Xenosaga will start picking up as the series progresses. I hope so anyway. Not really looking forward to anything this year. Maybe look forward to FFXII, but from looking at some of the screenshots, the main character...well, at first I thought he was a female. Yes, I do mean Europe...%#!¤#¤ PAL region...we either get no good releases or we get everything (the bigger titles) later.

I like Soul Caliber 2. I don't know why but I really loved the first incarnation of the game when it was called Soul Edge for the PS1. I've always hated the Tekken games, they were so boring. Virtual Fighter 1 was awesome because it was the first 3D Fighter. I was never too enthralled with the Dead or Alive series, not even the bouncing breasts did it for me. DOA is good because of the counter button.

I on the other hand, find 3D fighting game characters appealing (of course, I'm a guy) and the only 3D fighters I have played (and currently own) are Dead or Alive 2, Virtua Fighter 4 and Soul Calibur 2. They had appealing characters. Anyways, I'm always more into 2D fighters than 3D.

Let's put it this way: Every SSV romset works in NRX (except maybe the MAME romset) after putting some rom hacks in. Remember to grab a decrypted set ~30-40MB or so. Is there even a encrypted set of SSV floating around? my ssv works in mame kawaks Nebula NeorageX all is the same rom set because its decrypted Yeah, good to hear. I wasn't sure about MAME, since it sometimes uses entirely different romsets.

A single RAR in a CD does nothing. YES, you must unRAR it first.
