  1. Meh, it's tough at first but you finally get used to it. I lost my Sidewinder gamepad and I've been hating myself for it since I got back into emulation. I still got my two Sidewinder gameport pads.
  2. I get that feeling with almost all of hte games that Playmore has pu out. Still, I really enjoy them. Sure, they average but still damn good.
  3. Metal Slug 5 needs a special hack of NeoRAGEx that can be found at Neogamez. MS5 does not work in any other NRX, I've tested it. The special hack doesn't need a password.
  4. Suit yourself. I don't really mind the corrupt text anymore... It's been there so long that I hardly notice it anymore.
  5. The boss in Sengoku 3 is probably one of the most annoying enemies I've had the "honor" to face. Burning Fight is cool, but some people might not like it, since it was one of the first games for the Neo-Geo. (2nd or 3rd I believe)
  6. If you downloaded the P1 and the hacked NeoRAGEx from Neogamez, and you have the Mslug5nd.zip set.....Then it should work, mine worked instantly anyways...
  7. No. I got my KOF2000 long ago and I'm using NeoRAGEx 0.8c. I works fine apart from a few corrupt text stuff.
  8. Can you actually pull off complex direction combinations with a mere numpad?
  9. I really don't know whether to laugh or cry...
  10. If the roms are.bin, you have to rename them to.rom for them to work in NRX.
  11. I know... I was talking about what roms to alter if it was an MVS game in question.
  12. YYYYYYYAaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy!!!! Metal Slug 5 works in NeoRAGEx!!
  13. Care to shed some light into this "everything is fine" issue?
  14. Can't you people recognize the little ninja in one of the screenshots? It's Hokutomaru from Garou: Mark of the Wolves, without a doubt.
  15. Samurai Shodown RPG is in the works...I think that the translation would require hacking the S, M and P roms... But I wouldn't really know.
  16. Firstly, don't run anything in 8-bit graphics on NeoRAGEx.
  17. Great work on gathering this info, N3oGhost. Props are in order.... It would be nice to see Garou's endings an Arcade mode too.
  18. Seken Densetsu 3 is Secret of Mana 2... Secret of Mana was Seiken Densetsu 2 in Japan. Final Fantasy Adventure for Gameboy was Seiken Densetsu in Japan.
  19. Hotmail account are no good for sending files, since all basic accounts are only 2MB in size.
  20. Welcome. I hope you feel right at home here.
  21. Nope. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Unless you mean creating cheat codes by manipulating ROM memory adresses.
  22. Well...this thread will most likely succumb to the "How To" bombardment... Oh well, it's going to be more than hot in here....
  23. Let me give out my 2 cents on this... 1. Differen't romsets, different hardware. Neo-Geo roms are either in.bin or.rom format (only.rom for NeoRAGEx,.bins work in Kawaks, Nebula and MAME). A Neo-Geo set contains P (program), C (graphics), V (samples), M (Z80 processor instructions) and S (text) roms... Sometimes there isn't an S rom because the data for S is stored in some other rom (usually the P1 rom). Now for the CPS/CPS-2 stuff CPS-1 roms' filenames might seem odd at first glance, because the filenames (inside the zip) rarely look the same. CPS games work on CPS emulators as is, because there's no encryption in them....Unlike it's big brother, which brings me to: CPS-2 roms consist of files usually named xxxx.01-xxxx.25, but sometimes the game only needs a few of these, not a full scale 01-25 and the files don't always go in order (there are cases where 02-09 files don't even exist, but the games has 10-20. In addition to the actual files, CPS-2 games need specific XOR tables released by the dudes at CPS2Shock. XOR tables do away the encryption that the game has. XOR files in the archive have an "x" as the last letter before the actual extension. If you find CPS-2 games in the 'net, you most likely notice that the archives don't have the XOR tables in them. You have to get those separately. In short Neo-Geo games DO NOT work with a CPS/CPS-2 emulator (unless the emulator has support for Neo-Geo) and vice versa. It's a completely different hardware. 2. What do you mean by this exactly? 3. Indeed, MAME is by far the most flexible emulator out there. I don't use MAME myself, but that is my choice. 3a. For Neo-Geo, I suggest that you try out Kawaks, Nebula and NeoRAGEx... NeoRAGEx is by far the easiest of the 3 to use, but it's outdated and doesn't support on-the-fly encryption of Neo-Geo games like Nebula and Kawaks. Nebula, Kawaks and MAME need specific drivers, whereas NeoRAGEx does not. NeoRAGEx has been discontinued, but several hacks from HappyASR are still 'on the anvil', so to speak. For CPS/CPS-2, use Final Burn Alpha (FBA), it also has Neo-Geo support. 'Nuff said. If you want to use just one emulator for everything, use MAME. Feel free to ask some more, if this wasn't clear enough.
  24. You can not remove the black border around the game's screen in ANY way. It has been there since the first release of NeoRAGEx. It's the same with all the games in NeoRAGEx.
