I echo what KB said earlier; I loathe people who refuse to do any research themselves before asking for help (even if the stuff they read goes over their heads a little or a lot). I respect people who come in asking for help stating that "I read about *this* and *this* regarding the use of emulator/rom/thing X, but I didn't really understand it all too well, so would you mind helping me out here?"... I tip my hat to these people, and gladly help them. Too bad they account for less than 1% of the total number of people on the Internet. And some people just don't listen, even if their native language is English. As far as the language thing goes, the Germans and the French seem to be the ones having the most trouble conveying their message across an English-speaking message board. I blame their homogenous society language-wise, the utter refusal in some cases to allow multi-lingual diversity, and the chauvinism relating to their own culture. Sure, I could be wrong, but that's what it seems to me. The next in line are the Spanish and Russians.

Question about disk images
Agozer replied to Ensof's topic in DreamCast & Saturn Emulators [/pc/dc+saturn]
nullDC only reads CDI, GDI, NRG, MDS formats. It doesn't support BIN/CUE because no Dreamcast game contains only a single session, and BIN format only supports single session images. If you find this constricting, use a virtual drive, mount your image and tell nullDC to boot from that virtual drive. -
If you feel like downloading those, yes.
-
.... You already had everything set up, why did you start from the beginning? PCSX2 already comes with the needed plugins too.
-
With your current Frame Limiting setting, the emulator runs as fast as your system allows it to (i.e. even faster than 60 frames per second if possible). "Limit" caps the speeds at 100%, meaning 60fps for NTSC and 50 fps for PAL. "Frame Skip" as the name suggests, skips some frames in animations making the emulation faster if your system is not fast enough to keep a constant 100% speed. This can break certain games or introduce unwanted side effects in some games, but you should try it if a game is too slow. "VU Skip", as it read in the configuration window, tries to skip more frames than "Frame Skip" does, but there's an even bigger chance of cetain games breaking or sowing unwanted side effects.

If you have the original Final Fantasy XII disc, you don't have to makes backups if you don't want to. If you already have the game as a backup and you are playing either directly from the CD image (ISO or some other format), or by using a copied disc, you don't need to make a backup either. It's not like the data will go bad or anything like that. Is this what you were asking, or am I still misunderstanding something? Since you already have dual core enabled in PCSX2, there is not much else you can do to make the game faster, although you can try changing the frame limiting to "Limit" or "Frame Skipping" (why do you keep it in "Normal" I don't understand because it makes some games needlessly too fast).

Read the board rules. Warned. Closed.
-
Safeguard which parts, and what do you mean by "safeguard"? Also, have you enabled multicore support in PCSX2? Without that, the game will be slow, and even if you heve, some games will still be slow. Some games do not have good sound emulation either, AFAIK.

A Problem And A Question
Agozer replied to Nelly47's topic in DreamCast & Saturn Emulators [/pc/dc+saturn]
SpeedPig only worked wiyth Chankast 0.2, and is not only dead and buried, but was ultimately also useless, and made your system unstable. Really, don't even dare look at SpeedPig, because it won't work. If the game slows down, the game slows down. Get a faster processor or fiddle with the PowerVR options and hope that some of them makes a difference. -
Please refrain from continuous quoting. Makes the posts needlessly cluttered and messy. Please explain "possible do have better". What you see is the intended graphics quality for King of Fighters XI.

A Problem And A Question
Agozer replied to Nelly47's topic in DreamCast & Saturn Emulators [/pc/dc+saturn]
It's not very uncommon for speed to fluctuate drastically between different parts of the game. Either your CPU is too slow to keep up with the action or the emulator isn't ood enough in what it does. Fiddle with the PowerVR settings and see if those make a difference. If you have a dual core system, make sure you are using the MMU executable. As for saving, make sure you've activated the VMUs in the configure plugins window. -
nullDC Compatibility List
Agozer replied to Alpha's topic in DreamCast & Saturn Emulators [/pc/dc+saturn]
If it doesn't work, wither your CD image is corrupt, or the game simply isn't supported. There aren't many tricks you can do to make games work on Dreamcast emulators, you know. -
Of course, if you ask the likes of RIAA about this, they'll say unanimously that listening to free Internet radio (let alone recording it) is illegal. History proves that they are liars and full of BS though. Sure, It's illegal to download music from the Internet if you didn't pay for it/the copyright holder has given his7her explicit permission to distribute their work via the Internet.

Devil May Cry 2 Yes, you read right. Expect a review sometime in the future.
-
Re-read my post; I already told you.
-
Exactly how it is supposed to be, seeing how the game wasn't designed to run on computer monitors nor emulators for that matter, but (gasp!) regular television sets (CRT or LCD notwithstanding). You can control the blur effect and other assorted display stuff from the game's Options menu, if you didn't know.
-
.... Why don't you just try it?
-
Gee, I wonder. ...... Ripping streamed Internet radio is the same thing as recording a conventional radio program to a C-casette.

Final Fantasy XIII confirmed for xbox 360
Agozer replied to megaman_zer0's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
You're right about it all except FFXIII isn't being released on the 360 in japan. Don't ask me why... Ah, you're right. I missed that part earlier in this thread. Looks to be another case of "The japanese want their FF on a Sony console and since the US and Europe are more geared towards the X360, we're giving the port to them". Or something along those lines. -
Cancels in a MK game? WTF?
-
ecc, the developer of the titular multi-emulator frontend was kind enough to bring this release to our attention. The changelog is as follows: Full changelog that includes past WIP builds, can be seen HERE.

Final Fantasy XIII confirmed for xbox 360
Agozer replied to megaman_zer0's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Getting worked up about which console the game will be better on is laughable. Just pick whichever version you like, for the console you like. Let the retarded warmongers say what they want. It's true that from the diehard FF fans' point of view, porting something like FFXIII is sacrilege, but at least a port would [probably] give the X360 better coverage in Japan; something that the console direly needs. And we all know how much resources Microsoft pools into games and marketing for the japanese consumers. How well these tactics are faring is anyone's guess. The X360 and the PS3 are more or less on the same line graphically, with the X360 making better use of it's internal image scaler/processor, something which has (and still is, apparently) been the hot potato in the multi platform game comparisons.
