Sounds like a decent night.

Lots of tall people. I'm 175 cm tall, and I weigh 65kg.

You guys seriously have to re-examine your gun laws. The second amendment is caveman stuff that doesn't belong in 2007. The stories you describe are flocking crazy.

This is wonderful news...I finally got a game to look forward to now! Isn't it weird...not long after CPS3 is finally emulated, SF4 is announced. Hmm.

Icewind Dale 1 or 2? Rage of Mages?

I suspect you don't know how to use stealth in games (forgive me if I am wrong). If you have been playing FPS for any amount of time, you are used to a strategy of no strategy - point and shoot and when you run out of ammo select an even bigger gun and shoot again until the monster is dead! FRAGS +20 OMG OMG OMG!!!!1! You have to unlearn all that. It might feel weird at first, but it is rewarding later on. I would have never have believed it, but I found that it was actually more satisfying to sneak past an enemy undetected then to kill him! OMG! I've never been a fan of third person much, so this didn't bother me. Thief 3 was pretty good, a worthy (but not superior) sequel to Thief II. Hell, Thief 3 has the best level ever made in a computer game: Shalebridge Cradle. Doom is the bomb. It is legendary. I hope the demons never die. I love Id Software.

Classic Mega Drive Games
Chaotica replied to BlackKnight's topic in Genesis & Mega CD Emulators [/pc/gens+megacd]
Old games just had something special that new games don't have in so much abundance. -
I found the games at this place to be very cheap. Alot of machines cost $1AU for two credits, which is very good value.

The KMan named all the good ones. I can add: Amok Blood Blood II Chasm: The Rift Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines Darkstone Deadlock 1 & 2 Death Rally DethKarz Divine Divinity Duke Nukem 3d Dungeon Keeper 1 & 2 Expendable Extreme G-2 Fable Heavy Gear series Heretic series Hexen series Hyperblade Jagged Alliance Jazz Jackrabbit series Mechwarrior 2 No Regret and No remorse One Must Fall Pitfall Q Rally Raptor Requiem: Avenging Angel Road Rash Screamer 2 Screamer Rally Serious Sam Shattered Steel Syndicate Wars System Shock 1 & 2 But really play Thief 2 - I think it's the best FPS ever made (and that's a big claim for me, because I'm an Id Software fanboy). Also play Planescape: Torment, because I consider that to be the best RPG I have ever played. And Starcraft is the best RTS I have played, IMHO.

I went to a strip club for the first time not that long ago for a bucks night. I was honestly surprised by the patrons - I thought the place would be full of old and sleazy men. But the place consisted of youngish guys like me, who just wanted to have a drink, a laugh and a good time. I also liked the hard dance music they played. I didn't get a lap dance because I knew that, for me, it would have felt fake and artificial. This young stripper comes up to me, and she is trying to look smiley and sultry, but her eyes betrayed her - she was sad as hell to be in a place like that. I guessed she was a university student who was low on money and needed the cash to pay off her course. She practically begged me to allow her to give me a lap dance, but I said no. Honestly, I felt so sorry for her I was about to give her the $20 without the dance, and then shoo her away. Still, I found that these places aren't as seedy as I thought they would be. The drinks were cheap, too. Not sure if I would ever go back, though.

So I have been going to a nearby shopping complex (you Americans call it a "mall" I think) for the past few weekends to do some errands. The place is called Highpoint, but everyone calls it "Knifepoint" for all the muggings that occur there. I go into the Playtime there (Playtime is an arcade place) and lo and behold, the place is crammed full of people! I thought arcades were dead, but this place certainly wasn't. It's been busy every weekend I have visited! I noticed so many things that made me smile. Things like the people at the place - it was completely mixed. Young people, old people, families, males, and also females (yes, that's right, females!) all playing the games. Another thing I liked was that all the games were being played! It wasn't just the infantile prize/ticket machines or the corny guitar hero/drum hero/DDR Max games that were being pounded. It was everything! It was wonderful to see that the old games, from Galaga to Street Fighter Alpha, were being played alot. I plonked some dollars into Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, and competed with some guy, and I had a great time. I challenged more and more people, and fast made some new friends. Even though a few of these guys handed me my arse (yes, it's arse, not ass) on a plate, they were all friendly and jolly about it, and were not snobby or condescending. One even pointed out some weaknesses in my gameplay, and tried to help me out. Wow! The social factor that arcades once fostered still lived in this place! Other random things I noticed: Time Crisis 2-4 are still very popular. Daytona is still very popular (WTF??) Another game that was getting lots of plays was Too Spicy, where you and another player can duel each other in a shootout. It's fun. Arcade joints used to be very seedy around here, with lots of drug activity and local gangs and riff raff hanging out at the places. But this place was very warm, friendly, and non-threatening. Nice story, aye?

They made some of my favourite ever games with the Baldur's Gate series, and also Shattered Steel. This sucks somewhat.

What NEW games do they sell in your area?
Chaotica replied to Robert's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
I have always thought that games are way overpriced. But if I enjoy a game, then I will do my best to go out and buy it. I might rent it and burn it, play through it and find a real gem, then wait abit until the price comes down, but I will buy it if I really like it. I feel better that way. Having said that, I still need to buy Quake 4. That game rocked my boxers. I don't go into EB much anymore, but when I do, they seem well stocked with all the latest titles. Am I missing something? -
There's also a video on the net with some chick who manages to eat some large creepy crawly (it's bigger then her mouth) to win a Ferrari. Yuck.

Marion Jones confessed to using steroids
Chaotica replied to 2eyez's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Sometimes she looks kinda soft, smiley and hence cute. In that picture she does not. Anyway, I fell for her soft, smiley and cuteness years back and I believed her when she claimed she was drug free. Guess it shows how gullible I am. -
That's news to me about the jager bombs...I used to drink consecutive bombs in a row. I loved the taste and the hit.

Unreal Tournament III PC requirements released
Chaotica replied to Mooney's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
My computer is old, but I'll still be able to play it. Wonderful news. -
I love a drink. It's ambrosia. As long as you are mature about it, there's nothing wrong with it. I have half to one standard drink almost everyday, and I'm not dead or brain dead yet. It's relaxing after work, and its a common thing to do with friends, especially to help let your hair down abit. All it requires is abit of maturity. Asahi beer is the best beer.

What are your favorite non-gaming hobbies and interests?
Chaotica replied to Alpha's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Personal stuff I do on my own: Writing stuff - anything really. I want to publish a novel. Reading - fantasy, sci fi, thriller, horror, non-fiction Drawing - like drawing people and humanoid figures When I go out, I go to: Concerts - heavy metal, hard rock Raves - I like hard dance/techno music Art gallery Movies - sci fi, fantasy, horror I don't watch much TV, but I do watch: Dr Who - best show ever Iron Chef - quirky Japanese show that upstages most of what's on TV Mythbusters - crazy! NCIS - I love Abbey. She's cute. All the characters in this show are interesting. South Park, Family Guy & Drawn Together - because they are revolting. Music: I'm still new to heavy music. I like Fear Factory, Cradle of Filth, Dimmu Borgir, Killswitch Engage, Static X, Arch Enemy, Drowning Pool, and Faith No More. I still like listening to Alanis Morisette and Roxette. I also like softer gothic stuff like Evanescence, Nightwish and Within Temptation. Any other bands like this? And classical music is okay. I like listening to classic music when I drive. I also like listening to video game music, like: Starcraft Diablo 2 Blood Quake 2 And I like Techno, but I don't listen to any specific DJ. As long as the "thump" is quality, then that's all that matters. -
I thought I would hate Halo, but I did enjoy the first one. It had it's weaknesses - all the interior levels were the same, and there were not enough enemies - but the game's firefights were amazingly tense. The rechargeable shield, energy grenades and weapons that overheated made the gun battles diabolically fun! I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the game. I still think PC FPS are, on the whole, better, but I respect the first Halo. It achieved alot. People who hate it just because it was successful are abit immature, IMHO. Haven't played the two sequels, however.

Yep, I mean that very game. I don't know why it took me so long to find it. Any game where you get to set people on fire with flares, kick zombie heads around corridors and take on monks carrying shotguns has got classic written all over it. I believe you can download both Blood 1 & 2 from various places on the net. Blood is very difficult to get playing on XP though - I had to consult a long list of directions on a fan's site to get it to work. I had mixed feelings about the last episode of Doctor Who. It just didn't seem to work for me - it didn't seem to come together properly. And I really will miss Martha. It had nothing on the episode called Blink - the one with the weeping angels - which completely blew me away. That was some of the best television I have ever seen. And now when I walk past a statue, I try to avoid its gaze. Bloody hell.

I was dancing all day at a massive rave party yesterday, so today I am all sore. I am playing Blood for the first time. What an awesome game! Gorey as hell. I secured permanency at my work not long ago. With the stable income, I'm planning on moving out of home and going on a holiday. Just about to watch the last episode of Doctor Who season 3. I like Tennant as the Doctor, and I will miss Martha Jones, because she is a hottie.

Sounds like I need to check out Hardboiled!
