Wow...usually I'm the one ranting against movies and Hollywood crap. I thoroughly enjoyed this film. I felt like a 14 year old walking out of it. "Hey, dood!" I said to my friend, "did you see the bit where Spidey and Sandman were fighting, and then...THAT WAS SO COOL!" You get the picture. The action scenes were amazing. Martial arts on steroids, charged with a warp drive taking place 50 blocks above ground level. The special effects looked great. There was alot packed into the movie, but I felt it was (more or less) neatly done. The emo bit with the black suit was supposed to illuminate that the symbiote doesn't just makes you stronger, it also makes you an asshole and repulsive to others, and I thought it worked, in a very entertaining way. The film was as much a much morality play, with questions about power, responsibility, love, revenge and forgiveness, as it was an action/superhero film. Alot of hero films try that but end up looking tacky. I thought that it worked reasonably well in this film. Sure, there were dodgy bits - like the part with Green Goblin's butler - but I thought they were few and far between, and didn't detract too much from the final product. I too however, wished for a more bulkier Venom. And he didn't have a long tongue, if I remember correctly. Even so, I loved this movie! I liked the first two but I liked this one better, because this one took risks, instead of following the usual superhero formula, which is what the two prequels did. Risks never entirely pay off, hence the criticism IMO, but they worked out well enough for me in this film. And I don't think there will be anymore Spiderman films - this one tied up all the ends, and Toby Maguire and Kirsten Dunst don't wish to play these characters anymore.

I don't play sport much, but I do like watching them. I love watching cricket (go Aussie!) in all its various forms, but I think Test cricket is the best. I also like watching AFL (that's Australian Rules Football), but I honestly prefer to listen to it on the radio more, as I enjoy the wacky broadcast commentators. I watch soccer abit, but I generally do not like the game much. I watch Tennis, but only during the Australian Open. I also sometimes watch Supercars (that's like Nascars for you Americans) and Formula One, and sometimes I can watch entire races, and other times I get bored. I also like watching WWE, but that's more "Sports Entertainment" as Mr McMahon would say.

What's out, but I haven't got: Stalker Sin Episodes Games into the far (fantasy?) future: Diablo 3 Starcraft II Dragon Keeper, I may be wrong but the Quake IV expansion was cancelled, and what was already made for this release was issued as a mega big whopping official patch. I may be wrong, so check out the official Id or Raven sites. It's a shame, because I thought Q4 was awesome.

I'm far too nice. I love helping people. And when people let me down, I feel like crap. But I keep on helping others. Not to be a pleaser, mind you. Just because I like doing it.

For me it's definately Diablo 2. Then Quake 2, Quake 3 Arena, Starcraft, the various classic Dooms and Need for Speed: Underground.

How do you deal with stress and/or depression?
Chaotica replied to Alpha's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
When I am stressed, heavy metal blasts away all the tension. Nothing like a bedroom mosh to shoo away the stress. When I am depressed, I tend to sleep it out, and things get better after awhile as I slowly realise I am being sad over something that is trivial, or something I know I can handle. Writing your feelings onto paper also works, because when your write about your depression and read it back to yourself, it dawns on you that insignificant things are giving you the blues. And while some perfectly normal people get depressed because of life circumstances, others do indeed have a chemical imbalance. I have a mild form of it. It just means it takes more to make you feel happy, and you tend to be feel slightly lower then the average person more often. Treatment for this is usually an antidepressant, like Aropax, combined with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. The former helps to kick you into better spirits, and helps you control your mood while you undergo the therapy, which helps you see the flaws of your thinking and be more positive. It's a slow process but it definately paid dividends for me a few years ago. And Drop Dead Ed, you remind me of Fatal Rose for some reason. -
I don't get it.

This is very sad news. America seriously needs to look at not only its gun laws, but its innate gun culture. I for one think the second amendment is absurd and it should be consigned to the past. People do not need to carry guns. Australia is proof.

I can't help but feel he is yesterday's news, and a comeback is impossible because of his tarnished and freakish reputation.

How would you boost 1Emulation's forum/site activity?
Chaotica replied to Alpha's topic in Suggestions Box [/feedback]
First of all, I would just like to say that I don't post much here anymore because I'm trying to reduce my overall time spent on the internet, and also alittle because emulation for me has fallen out of my list of hobbies somewhat. But it was more for the former reason, I still emulate here and there, and 1Emulation is still a great forum. Having said that, I'm not sure what I can add that others haven't already said - they have all been interesting thoughts, and I'm not a technical, web savvy person. I do think that the name "1Emulation" is misleading if you intend this site/forum to be about gaming in general, and that a name change should be considered. Some people have expressed the view that this site must either be a niche oldskool site or a next gen site. The two mediums have two different audiences (older gamers versus teens and prepubescents) and I can see how some people think that a site that covers both simply won't work because of the two different styles of content and possible clashes between these two audiences. Indeed, the successful sites I have seen focus on one or the other. For example, the two old school sites I still visit (being the English Amiga Board and Lemon Amiga, listed here if you want to check out what they do, and not listed here for advertising or anything like that) cater to older gamers, and younger, less mature gamers somehow don't survive long, for whatever reason. So, you might like to focus on one or the other. Having said that, I honestly think that there is no reason why one site can't cater to all. You just have to clearly define the areas of the board/site aimed at next gen and next gen audiences, and the sections aimed at retro and retro audiences, and have really good mods watching out for internet arguments between the two that would inevitably flare up. It would be a balancing act, but I'm sure it can be done. -
Your favorite professional wrestler (of all time)?
Chaotica replied to Alpha's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
The Undertaker. When I first saw him on a PPV, I was like, "wow!" When he retires, I'm fairly certain I will stop following wrestling. -
Apparently, Cena is kept as champion because he sells lots of merchandise to his fanbase, which consists mostly of kids and teenage girls. I think it is wrong to keep in place a champion that is unpopular, but I guess Vince just wants to make lots of money, and make Cena the next Hogan (ie: an invincible wrestler). I am glad that the Undertaker won the championship and kept his streak. Hope this thread isn't too old to reply to.

Latest news suggest the Dems have got the Senate.

I was an MK nut in my teens - everything revolved around MK. I loved 1 & 2, and UMK3 was decent, especially when you played that game at home. I also didn't mind MK 4. Never gotten into the new ones. I like MK2 the best.

well wrestling is more than 50 percent fake all matches are fixed and only some moves are real and rest of them are fake ((wikipedia says this)) go search for a article abt wrestling, wwe, tna in wikipedia and u will know that wwe has been rated as medium real wrestling so that wont bother kurt angle much i think Wow, wrestling is fake? Really? I can't believe this! Oh my god my world is collapsing around me! And while it is all staged, "bumps" still take a toll on the body - they aren't slamming each other on cushions and pillows you know. And classic wrestling wasn't theatrical?

Why listen to fans when you can make more money by bringing in new players? Right on. It's not about customer loyalty anymore, it's about money.
-
I have difficulty in believing that statistic.

Well, I read somewhere the screenwriter commissioned to write the script is not only very talented but a games buff himself (I forgot his name, soz.) So hopefully we will get a film faithful to the game. Unlike the Doom film.

4. Need a therapist? Try Therapist Finder at www.therapistfinder.com HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA -
There should be a world 1emulation day!

A year or two ago I lost my level 56 lightning sorceress due to some dodgy save error. So every now and then I give it ago - currently got her back up to level 40. It's entertaining in short bursts. Oh, and in my opinion, it has the best soundtrack ever.

I like ATI products (nothing against NVidia though) but I have never really dipped into AMD stuff, choosing to stick with Intel. So I don't know how to feel about this lol.

What game have you beaten the most times?
Chaotica replied to Diso's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Most id Software games, in particular Quake, Quake 2 and Quake 3. -
I like rock, metal, classical and some orchestral stuff. Occasional techno track too.
