Half-life 2 Going Gold In August...probably
Chaotica replied to Alpha's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
I am looking forward to it, but I admit that the delay has taken alot of the shine of it for me. It isn't that much of a special release anymore. Then you have got Duke Nukem Forever. I think they are going to have a hard time hyping up the release of that game (if it ever comes out!) The hype for that game died many years ago! The "When It's Done Policy" is good, because it means makers are taking extra time to release something that is of high quality...but it also kills a game's hype and reputation abit. It is also quite annoying - the rest of the world have to abide by deadlines (like me; staying up late to finish essays and assignments), why can't game developers do the same? They are either fixated on releasing an excellent game...or they are slackers!!! -
How Many Times Do You Usually Die In A Game?
Chaotica replied to Diso's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
When its a FPS, I honestly barely ever die lol. And I never use cheats! Other games are different. I cannot, for the life of me, play RTS games. I die (loose) all the time. The only one I have completed is Starcraft. I am stuck on the last mission on the Terran camapign in Brood War - those Uber Ultralisks keep killing me! Grrr! -
I liked the first, I thought it was great, and I can't wait to see what they do with the sequel.

Yes, I own an ancient Nokia 3210. There are heaps more funkier phones out now, but mine still does the job, so why get rid of it? Plus, I can't bear to part with it, because it has such a cool cover - black with a silver dragon. Oh, and Nokia 3210s are strong as hell. You can drop them, throw them, smash them, nuke them, and they will still work!

No, but talking about how the world is full of sh!t, terrorist kill people etc. etc. gets tiresome after a while....even more so if politics is involved. Well some of us like to talk about such things and there is nothing you can do about it. My advice to those that don't like these threads: when you see a topic started by random guy that sounds remotely politcal or about the real world, no need to visit it. You got it BUB! Sounds good. Stay the flock out of my threads unless you have anything constructive to add And seriously, some of you guys are the most apolitical fellows I've ever met - how can you be an adult of or nearing voting age in this day and age WITHOUT being extremely pissed off about the current state of world diplomacy? Calling topics about politics 'spam' is just rediculous! No wonder so few Americans vote, if that's the attitude the majority of its citizens take! You have one chance every 3 years to make a difference, to TRULY have your say in the democratic process, you'd have to be INSANE not to take it! Vote, you fools, vote! Unless you want a moron like Bush in charge again! ...And why was the Paul Johnson thread closed? Posting pictures about it is in bad taste, I agree, but that was important news! There's a difference between censorship to keep things pg-13 and censorship of important news and events. And anyway, it seems like half the threads that poor Emsley makes get closed. He's admin too, why don't people respect his authorit-ah? True...but sometimes politics becomes so omniscient, that people choose to turn a blind eye to it. There is also the view that, whatever your beliefs are, your government, or world affairs, are so powerful, that there is nothing you can really do. It is funny, we are supposed to be a democracy, with each individual having a voice that should be heard and counted, but I don't feel that way anymore. I don't know if I have ever felt that way. I think an interest in political issues is healthy...but then again, I also think having an indifference to politics is not such a bad thing either. Because politics is everywhere these days, you can easily drown yourself in it. Perhaps this is pessimistic and cynical, but sometimes it may be better to avoid it, for your own sake. For your own sanity. In a way, I think cynicism about politics, and the leaders we elect, is sad. We chose them, they should reflect what we want. But of course, this never seems to happen. In another way, I think this cynicism is okay - it is showing our leaders that if they want to be re-elected, if they want our trust, they are going to have to work damn hard to achieve that. It is also telling them we do not accept everything they decide to do. And no, I'm not an anarchist. But their ideas are interesting to read.

Yes, BitTornado, that's right. But "Shadow's Experimental" sounds meaner!!!
-
I didn't like how Azureus installed all of that Java stuff, so I didn't go through with it. I couldn't get Shareaza to work. ABC always locked up on me. I used Shadow's Bit Torrent client...it just rules. I use the stable version, but there are also experimental versions.

Lol, it's true, you look like Sean!!! LET'S PRACTICE PARRYING!

How Do I Cheat With A Graphic Calculator?
Chaotica replied to maninderb's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
If your teacher has half a brain, they will erase the memory on your calculator before you enter the exam. Cd players and walkmans in exams??? You guys have it so easy. Only losers cheat. -
*sigh* Where did the ultra slick Batmobile from the first Batman movie go? Those were the days...

I agree with his summation of Tom Clancy plots too!!!

Can you download torrents just using the BitTorrent program, or do you need a BitTorrent client like Shareaza?

May I partially hijack this thread? I use to love soccer, but in the last few years or so, I have grown to hate it, primarily because of all the fake 'dives' that occur in the game, and players feigning injury to get penalties, or to make an opposing player incur a card, and so on. It has really put me off the game I once enjoyed. Acting is for the movies, the theatre and professional wrestling (not that wrestling is bad, I quite like it lol). Acting is not for sport. What do you guys think about this? Also, it is very hard to appreciate soccer in Australia, I believe, because we have a sport that is the total opposite of soccer - Australian Rules Football. It is fast, high scoring, and can be blatantly brutal at times. It is very popular.

I am Australian.

Not that I know of, but thanks for all the advice.

I can't get Shareaza to work. I connect to a network, Gnutella 2, search for files, and I double click on the file I want. But that's where it ends, unfortunately. The files just don't download. I pause/unpause them, and "search for more sources" to try to give them a kick, but nothing works. Am I doing something wrong? I have heard Shareaza is very slow. Is this true? I have also heard it sucks your Internet connection dry, so it is not a good idea to have it running while you are surfing. And I am still on 56k too. Can anyone help me? I am still very new to P2P, the only P2P program I am familiar with is WinMX. There seems to be so much cool stuff on Shareaza, however. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

And I think the highlight of that thread is not JJJ's immaturity, nor Random's persistent and accurate flame-throwering of Jenny (which JJJ deserved all the way), but... ...I think it was the fact that Agozer, whom had been insulted to no end by such a naive and pathetic person, maintained his composure throughout, even trying to help JJJ even after Jenny had insulted him so much. Well done, Agozer. You have 200 times more self control and self discipline then I have. I would have torn him to shreds if he had said that type of stuff to me. You are a really good bloke, Agozer.

Happy Anniversary 1 Emulation!!! Let's break open the champers, the wine, the food, and the beer, and all get smashed! I've been here since about December or so, and I can honestly say it is the friendliest board I have ever been on. Other boards treat newbies, or people who ask stupid questions (ie: me ) coldly, or ignore them. There is a real sense of community here, and I appreciate it. Thankyou people. Thanks Gamecop, too.

What's so bad about anchovies? They are so hyped up by so many people as being disgusting in taste, but I don't mind them at all! I don't see what all the fuss is about. They give a strong, salty punch to the tastebuds. I like your usual stuff like cheese and ham, but I also like black olives, lots and lots of mushrooms, extra cheese, (Capricosa is my fav pizza style topping) and sometimes bacon and egg. The only thing I won't eat on pizza is pineaaple, because I feel that pineapple doesn't belong on a pizza. Plus I hate its taste.

When I saw "From the Director of Independence Day" I discarded any thought to go see this movie lol.

Sorry Fatal, but that box fits you perfectly!!!

And if that doesn't work, format the HD and do a fresh install of...er...everything. It is a big move, but formatting does wonders.

It could be one of heaps of things. I think we need more information. Which games crash? What happens? What are your computer specs? What Windows are you using? Are there programs running in the background? etc

Congrats mate, university life kills high school life anyday. But make sure you stay in contact with your high school friends...when people leave school, there is a tendency for people to drift apart. Keep in touch.
