  1. Greetings - nice to have another member from the great southern land here.
  2. Thank god this thread was about the banks, I thought you had found out about my secret after hours job.
  3. To be honest, if she is a real person...I now feel guilty that I laffed!
  4. I'm loving Crysis. If Far Cry gave you 20 ways of going about something, then Crysis gives you 50 ways. The action is great fun, too. Right now I like using the cloak and killing people predator style, and then using speed and strength to tear the place apart if I get discovered.
  5. I am going through this thread - I don't care if it takes me hours, because I am laughing so hard!
  6. Lol, everyone is busy. I am busy looking for a house and working on a personal project of mine. I still check here often. I never feel that it is dead as GC makes it out to be.
  7. I don't notice any stiffness or choppiness, to be honest.
  8. Finished Half Life 2. A great game, but I still think the AI could have been better, and the game needed a larger variety of enemies. It might also have been a tad too long for my liking. The citadel level at the end was really cool, however. Nice and weird. Now I am on to Crysis and Soulstorm.
  9. Pooh pooh to your pessimism. I lament the day Midway will die out. I hope they can find a way out of this mess. It won't be one title that saves them though - it has to be a consistent couple. Midway have still got alot to contribute to the games industry - they are the type of game makers that make alternatives to your Tekkens, Virtua Fighters and Street Fighter Alpha Beta Ultra Special Championship Edition Turbo Hyperfight.
  10. I personally thought Indy 4 was one of the worst movies I have ever seen!
  11. Cube is an awesome movie. The sequel is okay, but not as good. I just saw Max Payne. The movie is very much like the games, in that they are more style then substance, with artistic visuals masking a lacklustre plot. But you know what? I liked it. The visuals are absolutely gorgeous. I didn't see the twist coming at all. There was one shootout in an office building that had me giggling like a little girl. The story was bland, but the movie still seemed to swathe itself in poetry, despite its deficiencies. I just think they could have omitted the whole Valkyrie stuff - it would have been a grittier and more realistic film without that element. I'm really enjoying game-to-film movies. I think I go into the cinema with low expectations, and emerge from the theatre pleasantly surprised.
  12. In a way, that's why I liked it. Oh, and the graphics were awesome, the sniper rifle was orgasmatronic and the fact that you could beat many parts of the game in a variety of different ways were other highlights. But the last level was just too hard. You go up against a good 12 of these almost unstoppable mutants, who each take enormous amounts of damage, on a map with very rough terrain that makes movement difficult and slowed. There is no health kits around to aid you, either. I'd never encountered anything so hard before, not even in older action-censor fests like Doom or Rise of the Triad. I could only get past the above sequence by using a certain trick which involved sticking a chair in a doorway to keep the door from sealing shut. I'd skirt up to the door, knowing that the 12 monsters were on the other side, get the door to open, run back to a corner, and blast away before the door (partially) closed. And repeat. It took a good 1/2 hour before I took them all out.
  13. Far Cry was an awesome shooter, except that I thought the mutants ruined it, and the ending was far too difficult, even for a FPS whore like me. I am looking forward to the sequel.
  14. I will definately give it a go when it hits the PC.
  15. Sounds like you have been infected by Melbourne weather - four seasons in one day.
  16. How was Vince Cossimo's performance? Go the Aussie actors.
  17. I climb 14 flights of stairs each day at work, go on a powerwalk during lunch times, and then do situps and weights at home.
  18. I always knew that it was really beer that made the world revolve.
  19. You can't change other people. The only way they will learn is when they finally see the errors in their ways, and change themselves. It's one of the many reasons why I stopped giving people relationship advice a few years ago, and decided to simply concentrate on sorting my life out instead.
  20. It's pretty sad that some loser with no life got his thrills by hacking into Palin's email. Whatever your political allegiances are, everyone deserves privacy.
  21. I'm going to take the opposite argument. To the thread poster; are you sure you are not overdoing it, drowning yourself in a swamp of excess? Sometimes if you have too many games to play and too many films to watch, the abundance of everything burns you out, or makes you bored. Moderation is the key.
  22. I wish they would make another Descent game.
  23. Tim Burton's Batman: The Movie is one of my favourite films, and my favourite Batman movie. It is impossible to compare Heath's Joker to Jack's, as they are both so very different - Jack's is the outgoing, laughing clown psychopath while Heath's is the disturbed, introverted and silently sinister Joker. Both are brilliant. I give my vote to Jack's, just by abit over Heath's. I wanted Heath's Joker to laugh maniacally more often.
  24. I thought Voyager and Next Generation were heaps better then Deep Space 9.
