If you've noticed that your Internet is not working properly then it's most probably because there is a problem at Level 3 Communcations who are one of the major Internet backbone providers in America. Half of the websites I try don't work. I can't even access 7Words.

The mantra seemsm to be "1/3 Old, 1/3 Improved, 1/3 New." I would give you a link but I don't have it on me right now. I read it last night as some Civilization fan site. I don't think it's leans towards either of the games in particular, it just uses the best stuff from each of them (atleast I'm hoping.)

I saw the XBOX version on a certain popular site. But that Civ risk is a legitimate risk I'm willing to take. I actually don't have too much time to waste but still...it's Civ!

In the midst of all these first person shooters (Quake IV, F.E.A.R., Call of Duty 2), Civilization 4 is a welcome treat for me. I'm passing up on all those games for this one because I've always loved the Civ series and I think I will get lots of mileage out of this game. Anyone else planning on getting this? It comes out on Oct. 25 which is next Tuesday. Another turn based strategy game coming out soon is Shattered Union. Gameplay looks interesting and the subject matter intrigues me. It's about the US breaking up into several factions after a nuclear blast destroys Washington D.C. Unfortunately, no review are out yet for this game. Anyone been following this? It's coming out for XBOX too I think.

Jesus, everywhere I read everyone has beaten the new games in like a day. F.E.A.R., Quake 4, Warriors, and Shadow of the Collosus. I could never beat a game that quickly. I'd feel ripped off.

No, I'm referring to the D-pad, 4 face buttons, shoulder buttons, rumble pack, and analog sticks (and you could say proper wireless with the Wavebird but I think there were good wireless PC controllers before, not sure). Actually, I don't see the touch screen being used for gaming outside of the DS and its descendants. Not every Nintendo decision is a success and not every is a failure. History has shown when they succeed it's pretty big and when they fail it's pretty minor in the grand scale of things and only brought up to mock them. But regarding the Power Glove, I love the Power Glove...it's so bad. What does this mean for the Revolution controller? I honestly don't know. It's strange, yes, but I don't equate that with bad. I'm not going to claim it will be a success or not. It's not out yet. All we have to go on right now is an introduction speech and a short promo video. I (nor anyone else really besides developers) don't know enough about the controller to say it's a dumbass idea yet. It could work, it could fail. I'm just not going to blast it before I know more about it or give it a try myself. I already made that mistake with the DS. I said the touch screen was a gimmick and such a dumbass idea but I actually enjoy Meteos, Nintendogs (shutup, it's fun ), Kirby, Castlevania, and the new surgery game looks intriguing. Those games would be tough and not as fun without the touch pad. The Rev controller: bad idea. It's still gonna do at least somewhat good, though, since a lot of internet nerds disagree with me, it seems. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm not in the position to say it's a good or bad idea and I'm not going to pretend to either. All I can say is that I think it's an interesting idea and I'm going to wait and see how everything plays before I jump on the OMG SUCH A GAY DUMBASS IDEA or THIS PWNS HARD bandwagon. It'll do good or bad based on the games and how well they work with the controller and if people enjoy playing it. Not because of Internet nerds disagreeing with you. Believe it or not, we are a minority in the gaming market. The regular Walmart shopper who knows nothing about the hardware is the majority and who everyone guns for. Get off your high horse, you're not the final authority on what's a good or bad idea. TL;DR: My position is that it's too early for me to claim it's a dumbass idea or a good idea. I'll let the games decide that.

I just don't feel like spending $50 on either Quake IV or F.E.A.R. The single player components are supposedly only 10 hours. I need a bit more gameplay time per dollar. Not to mention I have little time or money for this many games. And I need a break from FPS. The last 3 games I've bought are FPS.

Not to mention the 7800 is extremely expensive. However, the new ATIs do quite well compared to the 7800s. The latest is always expensive though. For best price/performance I'd go for a Radeon 9600/9700/9800 or GeForce 6600GT/6800. Those should all be under $200.
