  1. Haha, yeah. This is supposedly going to be the first DX10 (WGF) game and will ship around the same time as Vista. That is some damn good stuff and I can't wait to see some high quality videos of that. Also, keep in mind that the video is only of the alpha build of the engine so it's only going to get better from here. I'll assume that this video is the same I saw yesterday. The last part with the advanced shaders with all those faces looked absolutely stunning.
  2. Here's a really excellent and long article on Nintendo's strategy. http://lostgarden.com/2005/09/nintendos-ge...n-strategy.html
  3. Taken care of. I asked him nicely a while back that he can only have one banner and his second was way too big anyway.
  4. I started to work on a CPS-3 emulator but that didn't pan out. The encryption was too tough. I don't expect it to happen for a few years.
  5. During war no president has ever been voted out. I think people felt he could actually do the job. Also, the people who voted for him are much more motivated to actually vote. I don't like him as president but I can understand why many do.
  6. Nice to see this emulator is alive.
  7. Uh huh...well I don't think Nintendo took into account the nose pick factor.
  8. You flick your wrist the direction you want the cursor to go is what I'm imagining. Like a laser pointer.
  9. I don't know but I've used Gyration mouses (the technology this controller is based off of) and I found it to be quite precise although a bit odd to get used to. They have surely improved upon the technology so I expect it to be as precise as a mouse. I think some people may be getting confused and thinking you have to hold and use it like a light gun like in House of the Dead. From the write ups I've read from the journalists who have used it, it sounds like a flick of a wrist is sensitive enough (which is pretty much how you handle a regular mouse). And I am the kind of person that thinks console FPSes are an abomination (besides GoldenEye ) and regular console controllers are horrible for that genre. I won't knock it before I try it but I will go ahead and mock it.
  10. The other part of the nunchaku would be used for movement while the remote thing would be used for aiming, jumping, and shooting. It could truly be better than a mouse.
  11. Ahahahaha! I will become and Ob/Gyn to practice love with women. But seriously, I could never become and Ob/Gyn.
  12. Also for future reference, instead of burning it on a CD, get Daemon Tools and mount the disc and then play it. It's much better than burning the CD and playing from that.
  13. Here's a pretty neat console controller family tree: http://www.axess.com/twilight/console/index.html You can notice there that almost every modern controller idea has come from Nintendo and then picked up by competators.
  14. An unofficial concept convential controller shell. http://cube.ign.com/articles/651/651559p1.html
  15. Here are some pictures of an MSG4 session with Kojima. You'll see that they are demo-ing it in real time on what looks to be a PS3 dev kit. EDIT: Dammit, here's the link. http://ruliweb.dreamwiz.com/ruliboard/read...me_ps04&main=ps
  16. Another good interview: http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=60917
  17. This controller could be as good as mouse and keyboard for FPS games. Also, here is an interview with Nintendo VP of Marketing, Perrin Kaplan. http://www.revo-europe.com/news.php?nid=8244 I expect the controller to have a more ergonomic shape at the bottom so it's more comfortable to hold for long gaming sittings.
  18. To play NES games you just have to turn the controller sideways. And to play other games I think you will have to buy extensions and crap. I just hope they aren't expensive.
  19. MGS4 video: http://files.filefront.com/mgs4wmv/;4145005;;/fileinfo.html
  20. Yeah, it's up to the developers to take advantage of the controller. Without their support it will fail (just like any system, even one with a normal controller).
