I got it sometime last month when FilePlanet has open beta signups. You have to download the separate multiplayer beta whose performance is crappier than the demo since it's a beta. But it gives you a good idea of how the multiplayer feels.

Does it freeze immediately or after a while of running? Does the screen get garbled up at all?

My Windows Update has ALWAYS been turned off. I only install updates manually.

The image you have could be a non-selfboot version. Chankast will only let you use selfboot discs I think.
