Here is a good little article on RAM latency that should explain it better than I can: http://www.memorysuppliers.com/caslatwhatis1.html I don't know how much of a performance boost it is to have lower latency RAM but the most important thing about it is that it should be stable in your motherboard. Some low latency RAM can cause stability problems in motherboards. But most motherboards should be fine and the one I recommended should be perfect because it's a hardcore mobo. And about V-sync, I actually turned it on for Doom 3 because I was experiencing screen tearing.
I think they're rolling out with sequels too fast. It's eventually going to devalue the IP. I mean give it a year's rest!! Come up with something new for flocks sake.
You can't have RAM with different speeds working together. Hell, you can't even put RAM with different latency timings. Also, please refrain from double posting.
Do you plan on buying online or from a retail shop? You'll probably get a better price online but I don't know of any stores that ship to Austrailia. Ok, I just did some conversions. You're willing to spend 396.052 - 633.683 USD. - Here is the mobo I recommend: MSI nForce4 Ultra (939) K8N Neo4 Platinum (139.00 USD) - Here is the CPU: AMD Athlon 64 (939) 3500+ 512KB (264.99 USD) The higher the better but you also need money for atleast 1 gb of DDR400 RAM. 2x512 mb shouldn't cost you more than $200. Actually, it'll be quite less depending on brand. Most benchmarks show there isn't a huge difference. But yeah, you got screwed that 6600. It's such a sham, the GT basically doubles performance in all games.
1. DO NOT ask where to download WAREZ, ROMs, ISOs or BIOSes 2. DO NOT provide direct links to WAREZ, ROMs, ISOs or BIOSes. 3. DO NOT provide links to websites that link to WAREZ, ROMs, ISOs or BIOSes.
I'd go for AMD because they perform better. And the CPU makes no noise, it's the fans. First question that I ask, how much are you willing to spend? Second question, what kind of games and programs do you plan on running? And DDR400 is better than DDR333. Where are you seeing those prices?
To me it's just another day. But I got pinched today for not wearing green so that pissed me off. I'd feel more merry if I didn't two tests today and had time to engage in some of the festivities.
This summer should be interesting with War of the Worlds, Star Wars Episode 3 (I might go see it) and Batman Begins. That's not to mention the ones that I've forgotten.
Check this out for the press release (too long so I won't post it): http://ve3dboards.ign.com/message.asp?topic=18801940 Here is the list though and I've bolded the games I'm looking forward to or think that are cool. As you can see there isn't really much original stuff. Is there anything on the list that strikes your fancy?
I think Eric Idle has done something like this before but not on Broadway. He assembled a bunch of people to do the skits and took it around the country.
The website is up and pretty cool if you don't know much about Sin City since they introduce most of the characters. Plus they have some Flash games there so Sturm you might like that.
