  1. What? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'll try to translate: Those are some neat tricks. See, And1 (or is it AndOne?) is a sports clothing brand here that puts out these basketball videos that have insane basketball tricks, it's quite amazing actually even if you don't enjoy the sport.
  2. There are free opensource DOS OSes like FreeDOS that I might give a try. I wonder if old games work with those.
  3. Just get a different one. Remember, this isn't 2Emu.
  4. I'm open to games but I've played enough of those games to know I don't like them. I'm not going to go back and waste my time playing them just to see if I might like it again. Plus, Final Fantasy fanboys are the lowest of low in the realm of fanboys. Also, your sig is a tad too large. In fact, it's very large.
  5. I've played FFVII before. I didn't really like it. By then I was completely spoiled by D&D.
  6. System of a Down - flock the System WAAR!! FUCK THE SYSTEM FUCK THE SYSTEM!!
  7. Yes, to me Morrowind is a prime example of what an RPG should be.
  8. It doesn't matter anyway since I forgot that you are playing PS2 version. Only the PC version allows you to circumvent that lock easily.
  9. This recipie looks scary...one day I shall try it.
  10. Maybe if you used DOSBox or something like that. I'd love to be able to play LSL1 again, for nostalgia's sake. Maybe now i could get past the trivia questions at the beginning on the first try now! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What is DOSBOX? I'm interested. i would like to play some classics again. (still waiting for my Tie Fighter to arrive ) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> DOSBox is a DOS emulator. It's really good for old games like LSL. Hey NeoMaster, I think you can edit one of the INI files to unlock nude mode.
  11. That's exactly my point about the girls thingy. It doesn't matter where it's from, case and point. But you said that it's impossible for you to like a Eastern RPG...what if they made one that had Western influence? Hence defies your logic about how you can't like a Eastern RPG. And about the girls comment, I've been playing too much Rumble Roses. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well I only said Western because so far only Western RPGs have offered what I want to play. Once an Eastern one does it, I'll check it out too. Stinger, I classify RPGs as games that have indepth character creation and development, multiple conversation paths, and several ways to play the game. I have a more "create your own role" look on RPGs.
  12. They're for PC. They are old graphical text adventure games (up to number 7), not recommended for newbies. You have to think in order to play. Leisure Suit 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7. Al Lowe (he's not even involved in the new one which sucks) said after LSL 3 that'd he'd never make LSL 4, and he didn't lie, he skipped right to 5.
  13. I can't believe you just compared games to girls. It's not about WHERE it's from, it's what qualities it has. Eastern style RPGs don't have the qualities I like in an RPG while Western ones do. It's the same thing with girls. I don't care where they're from as long as they have the right qualities (external and internal). EDIT: Yeah, Agozer said it perfectly. I don't get turned on by them.
  14. Play the old ones for some nice cleverly written humor games.
  15. ...no. You are wrong. I pretty much despise Eastern style RPGs. The last Eastern style one I played was Chrono Trigger and I got bored of that and went back to play Fallout and NWN. Hell, I don't even consider them to be RPGs since there is such little character development and rarely any varying styles of gameplay. Also, Diablo and Dungeon Siege are iffy in the RPG realm, they are basically hack and slash with some character development.
  16. There's a huge difference between mindless grinding and a balanced RPG. Walking around and killing hundreds of the same enemy is an example of the former. Increases in power can come from a wide variety of gameplay experiences, and a good RPG will mix them up and prepare you for what's ahead in a transparent way - without making you think about how many more randomly encountered gaint sandworms you have to kill before your stats are high enough to survive the boss. A good example would be Fallout. If killing the same three enemies for an hour and a half gives you a real sense of satisfaction, you might consider ditch digging as a career option. I don' think it's fair comparing FF style advancing to Fallout style since they are completely different kinds of RPGs. You can't really compare western skill based D&D (or SPECIAL in this case) character advancement with Eastern crap (I can't think of any other word to describe it ) character advancement. From my eastern style RPG experience (please correct me if I'm wrong), don't all of them have a sort of 'xxx/yyyy till next level' and then all stats go up at once when you hit next level? But yes, Fallout's character building system is one of the best ever created, if you haven't played it I highly suggest you do.
  17. I've never played this Hot & Cold but it can't be THAT bad, can it? That's too horrible to imagine.
  18. This is pretty cool, it's nice to see another emulator on the scene. But damn, Firefly is fast.
  19. That's so awesome. Must be tough as hell.
  20. FF9 Totally rocks every FF fantasy before it and after 5. Shame everyone hates something of it. 7 However, will always be the game Final Fantasy will be known for. No matter what, since it was the game that gave the Final Fantasy series a reinvention. I ditched FF7 a long time ago, and don't mind breaking the cds against the wall. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Final Fantasy 3 (or 6 for you purists) will be the one that I remember because I actually liked it. I don't know if I'd like it now, but I liked it back then.
  21. Mass market appeal. That's what it is. The Godfather is going to be EA's first (or first in a loong time) Mature rated game. Ofcourse, being rated R or M doesn't make a movie or game any better.
  22. It's not impossible, Agozer is nearing 11,000.
  23. So far I've only seen R. Belmot reply in that thread in the MAME forum. He basically said that they never expected anything like this so trademarking it wasn't really something they thought about.
