Do you have a credit card or access to one? You can still preorder either from a retail outlet or preload (prepay) with Steam. Silver package from Steam is definitely the best deal since you basically get everything and it's only $5 more than the cheapest retail. You'll have to preload all of it though, but you have till Nov. 16 to do that and the Steam servers are hella fast so that should be no problem if you are on broadband. Oh yeah, you should almost make sure you have atleast 5 gigs set aside just for HL2. If you decided to install stuff from the back catalogue, you'll need more room. My entire SteamApps folder is 7.69 gb which includes everything available through Steam and it's all downloaded at 100%.

This could be a heating problem...do you know how to check your CPU temps? Also, make sure the fan on your video card is running (if it has a fan). My dad had this problem and after examining closer we found that his GeForce2's fan didn't work.

Almost every game is pirated before release, it's nothing new. It's just that leaks are getting way more coverage now than they used to. And these won't really hurt sales too much for one main reason: You need a mod chip to play these and not many people have those. Those that do would normally have pirated it anyway. I know I'm overgeneralizing but that is usually the case.

It's the PS2 version. And this game needs no more publicity, it's GTA, that's all the publicity it needs. Ofcourse it's a purpose leak, done by the piraters.
