John Locke was also a flocking idiot. Not really. We read some stuff by him in Psych but my teacher didn't like him for some odd reason. I think my teacher was the idiot.

Alright, time to whip out my notes from Freshman biology. These come directly from it: A measure of the influence of genes and the environment on the phenotype is heritability. Heritability - the proportion of phenotypic variation in a population that is due to underlying genetic variation. For example - skin color differences can be due to genetic differences and/or due to difference in exposure to sunlight in the recent past. Heritability ranges in value from 0 to 1. H = 0 means all of the phenotypic variation is due to environmental differences - e.g. language spoken. H = 1 means all of the phenotypic variation is due to genetic differences - e.g. tongue rolling. Many traits are due to a combination of genetic and environmental influences. Normally heritability is measured as a statistic - a ratio of measures of variation. Heritability can also be measured by raising a large number of pairs of identical twins in different environments. If the twins, when raised apart, always exhibit the same trait, then the heritability is high (near 1). If the twins almost always exhibit different traits, then the heritability is low (near 0). Measuring heritability can be tricky because the measure always depends on the environment in which the measurement was made. For example, if all twins were raised in Norway then we might conclude that speaking Norwegian is a highly heritable genetic trait. If all twins are raised in different countries with different languages then we would conclude the language has a low heritability. Many human behavioral traits have been shown to have both a genetic and environmental component: introversion/extroversion, the tendency to smoke, the tendency to curse, sexual orientation, marital fidelity. If you have time then you should read these: http://www.apa.org/journals/psp/psp806845.html http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/heredity/

What do you think about manipulating genes?
Gryph replied to Jjangthekid's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Scientists already know about our genetic make up because of the Human Genome Project, not stem cell research. But I am for manipulating genes, not necessarily to hand pick our progeny, but to root our debilitating diseases. Ofcourse all this is A LOT harder than it seems and it will a LONG LONG time before it can ever be used like this. Definitely not in our life times. -
Didn't we establish this in another thread a while ago? I don't know...I don't think it was official official. It was just unofficially official. And I just saw it on VE3D so I'm assuming it's recent news (today).

Quit triple posting you flocking Narutard. People will post when there is something to say. That was a bit harsh, don't you think? But yeah, triple-posting is a bit too much. If people have something to say, they will post. No, I don't think it was. Heh. Narutard... First time I heard that (this is why I said 'harsh'). Actually Magnis used it once or twice earlier in this thread. I didn't come up with it.

Well the PS3 is definitely using this obsolete piece of hardware: http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/549/549945p1.html

PYRON!! That's so cool! He's one of my favorite characters ever because he just looks so cool.

You do realize that the condition of the grandparents and previous generations is also important because that's how genetics works. Sure for the nurture part going back to parents is okay, but to use just parents to try to figure out the nature part wouldn't work. That why scientists are always on the lookout for large families who span several generations.

And for those that don't know yet, there is a DS emulator being made called DSemu. It doesn't emulating anything pertaining to the DS but it's a good start. And the DS tech docs are floating around somewhere...perhaps the No$GBA team can get their hands on it and do something magnificent with it.

That is nice...very nice. I want one now.

Well it's about flocking time. I was already tired of BlueRay and anyone with any sense in their mind would know it's a completely obsolete piece of hardware. So obsolete it hasn't even come out yet... I don't really care as long as all the big wig companies can agree to one standard like they did with DVD.

Who said there was something wrong with being asian?

Ummm....not neccessary. I remember there is one movie showing that DNA will not define everything in life. It is the will, the environment that shape the people. Can't remember the name of the movie. Galcutta, Calcutta or something The name of the movie is Gattaca. But Daevel took the words out of my mouth, genetics defines the base character while the environmental stimuli around us mold us into the individuals we become. Even so, genetics does have a significant impact on our minds and bodies since scientists are finding genes that control and react to certain stimuli like anger, sadness, happiness, etc.

Dude, just ask around the official forum or some place like that. They are better equipped to help you out. Unless you've already done...then you're crap out of luck.

Dude, I already sent it to you! And someone should close this.

I want biometrics now. When I turn my computer on, I want to do a key card scan, a thumb print scan, AND a retina scan. And then it should say "*Beep* *boop*, have a nice day" in a sexy voice. And then I want it to reach out and fondle my...time to stop right there.

McDonald's Loses Legal Fight Against MacNoodles
Gryph replied to Alpha's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Coming to America was awesome. But I can see why McDonald's sued...that Mac company is definitely trying to ride the Mc wave. If you go to foreign countries they pronounce Mc as Mac. -
What a home computer would look like in 2004...

That's the joke. -
Then how come at the official site it still says that Capcom Fighting Jam is a working title?

ooo GryphonKlaw, has a hidden fashion sense since he hates those two clothing botiques. don't forget banana republic, old navy, and american outfitters. they sell new clothes with holes and tears in them so the rich can pretend that they shop in 2nd hand shops *nod* i think that's hilarious Well everyone has a fashion sense whether they like it or not, though most aren't as pronounced as yours. I don't mind The Gap, Banana Republic, or Old Navy since they are all the same company and just sell different versions of the same crap at different prices. I had this cool cashmere sweater from Banana Republic but some shithead spilled hot cocoa all over it...flocking moron. The only reason I like those 3 is that they still sell plain clothes and aren't completely 2nd hand store ripoffs. But I mainly shop at Goodwill, the real 2nd hand store stuff. My goal is to find a cool jacket kind of like the Tyler Durden jacket which was found at a thrift store by the costume person.

That blows. I'd go to the BF1942 official site or some fan site and ask there. I've only played the demo of this game and I wasn't too fond of it. But I might try it out if I get my hands on it. Oh yeah, if you ever get it to work, it would be great if you wrote how you did it here so we can know for future reference.
