Utopia Boot Disk doesn't work with Chankast yet. I don't know anyone that has tried the TDC on Chankast but it should techinally work...very odd indeed.

I think it would look pretty funny/weird with SF3 artwork against CvS2 and even older stuff. Things would just look out of place... Alex would be awesomely animated while Demitri is just stiff.

Well one company I know that doesn't have a deadline (just loosely held internal deadlines) is 3DRealms. They're official release policy is When It's Done. They make deadlines for themselves because any responsible company does that, but they can spend as much time as they want on their games. They've spend almost 6 years on Duke Nukem Forever and will spend more. Actually many game studios that have released hit games have very flexible schedules and do what they want like Blizzard, Valve, id, Raven, Lionhead, etc. For consoles I think its harder to have such easy schedules because they are just so many console games that they have to come out at the right time and quite a few of them are based on movie licenses so they have to be released at the right time. But hey, that's just what I think. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

That's a good thing. I want them to make the game as good as possible. If it takes another month or two, fine. As long as they make it as perfect for us, it's a good thing. That's why I love the WID policy. I don't think many console developers have that same flexibility to take as long as they want. Wealthy independant developers are teh 0wn.

Valve would also be a cool place to work. I would have said Ion Storm if they didn't lay off half their staff. Blizzard was mentioned and that would be awesome too. I don't think I'd want to work for Square-Enix, Konami, or any of those companies because those developing teams are huge. Or working for any company that has to answer to publisher deadlines would suck for me. Deadlines suck.

I just got this idea when reading the career thread. So what game company would you just love to work for? Keep in mind that this is fantasy so you can all pretend that you have massive programming or artistic skills. And please no "I would start my own gaming company" bullcrap. I would love to work for either 3DRealms or id Software because they are small, tight knit, exclusive game developers that don't have to answer to publisher deadlines or anything like that. They make a game when they want and can take however long they want to.

yeah, i also wanted to be a game designer since in school but the industry is way too competetive .you must really be a programmer whiz to make any kind of impact in that area. well, i could still dream can't i........ In the arcade biz it isn't that competitive!! Only a handful of companiens little over a duzin of componies with SNKP and Capcom leading the way andof course Sammy! If u pursue yer dreams you will sky-rocket to succes, fame, glory and chicks, don't forget babes! Remember, hope dies last!
