  1. One reason is because video game movies are given to crappy first time directors who have no talents whatsoever, the ones that would be stuck making crappy B movies (or porn) the rest of their lives. And most games don't have plot or character development enough to consitute a whole movie.
  2. I'm just looking through the EA website and looking at their games. And here are the ones that could realistically (not saying good) be translated to a fighting game: Lord of the Rings characters, Harry Potter characters, Def Jam characters, James Bond, Catwoman, Freedom Fighters, and Black and White. But does it sound like a good idea? HELL NO! Does anyone know if this will be 2D or a 3D game? If its EA, it'll probably be 3D.
  3. Hmm...I'm not at my home computer so I can't really access that to help you. If someone doesn't help you by day after tomorrow, I should be back home then to do so. But I know I've had that problem before and I fixed it. I assume you have the Win XP patch?
  4. I have to get used to a joystick before I play so I usually go to a machine that no one is using and just practice the motions so I get a feel for it. I've been spoiled by controllers but I still don't mind arcade sticks.
  5. I'm all for gay marriage. Who says gays can't be as miserable as straight people? They want to get married, let them! It should be no one's business if a person is gay or straight. Marriage isn't sacred anymore, 50% of marriages in the US fail. That just shows how much people hold the value of marriage.
  6. Alright, that happened to me too but I forgot what I did exactly to get rid of it. All I can remember is that I downloaded VDMSound and then everything worked fine. VDMSound is a DOS sound emulator that makes all the sound and music sound proper.
  7. H4w. K`dash laid it out pretty well. Emulation should be always kept free and if people want to help the site, they'll donate. Not under pressure by the site's administration, but because they want to. And yes, all this 'bandwidth cost money' has been brought up a million times. It's not like people will forget about it once they have heard it for the first time. Bandwith costs money?!!? Whuaaat! I r teh n00b and thought that all these sites are free!
  8. Alright, let's try this. Open up the mugen.cfg file. Scroll down till you see [Video] ;Enter the width and height of the resolution you want to set here. ;The optimal resolution is 320x240, but if your video card has problems ;You may want to try 640x480. Width = 320 Height = 240 Change the width to 640 and the height to 480. Now go to ;Choose from "1" for VESA1, "Linear" or "Banked" for VESA2, and "3" for ;VESA3. ;Note: VESA1 is very slow on certain video cards, especially the newer ;ones. "Linear" or "3" is usually the fastest for new cards. ;Default is "Linear". Vesamode = Linear And make sure it is on Linear or 3. If it still doesn't work, then mess around with the VESA settings.
  9. Yeah but they are cool enough not to pass the buck onto the users with mandatory donations for ISOs.
  10. Ravensoft didn't make RTCW, Grey Matter Studios did. Ravensoft made Soldier of Fortune 1 and 2, Elite Force, Jedi Outcast, Hexen II, and Heretic II. All of which use an id engine. I dont like the quake 3 engine, if thats what they're gonna use like they did in SOF2. It looked nice but it didnt play all that nice. You mean for Quake IV? I'm pretty sure Ravensoft is using the Doom III engine for it.
  11. Websites, HA! We don't need no stinkin' websites! DC++ all the way! Everything you will ever need and for free.
  12. Ravensoft didn't make RTCW, Grey Matter Studios did. Ravensoft made Soldier of Fortune 1 and 2, Elite Force, Jedi Outcast, Hexen II, and Heretic II. All of which use an id engine.
  13. Oh well, the latest stateside Guilty Gear arcade machine would be better than having TWO MvC2 machines. I mean one is enough!
  14. John Carmack wanted to do that but apparantly they're not. And this new game they are working on is a new intellecutal property so its not going to be Doom, Quake, or Wolfenstein.
  15. You can get it from here. There's a stickied topic for this.
  16. Hey, its more members who may stay and take part in other conversations.
  17. From that site that garageink posted, http://chinese.astrology.com/. I just put in my birthday and that came up.
  18. I'm sure MvC2 is a lot of fun, but seriously, american arcades (and players alike) should show some variety. Yeah, it's really bad. My school's arcade has TWO MvC2 machines and they got rid of the SF3: Second Impact machine. And no one plays any of the shooter games besides me which I shouldn't because people might think I'm a terrorist. And those assholes turned the blood and gore off for House of the Dead 2 so it sucks! Crisis Zone costs 2 quarters for each game while MvC2 costs just 1 so people play that more. Bunch of bitches. Perhaps I'll ask for them to bring a Guilty Gear XX #reload machine, now that would kick ass.
  19. I use BitTornado. But I recently installed Shareaza and that overtook my torrents and I haven't changed it back.
  20. Well I couldn't help but correct Cominus' view on the War on Iraq. I don't want him to be like the other ignorant Americans that only know what the media tells them. Which isn't much since this administration is more tight lipped than Nixon during Watergate.
  21. I hope John Carmack writes a new engine that owns the Unreal 3.0 engine. How dare he let Tim Sweeny and the Unreal team overtake him in the engine business!
  22. Actually I've seen two thugs start a fight in school right after one guy lost in MvC2. It was quite a sight to behold. I wanted to go "It's a video game you dumb flocks!!" But then they would have probably shot me so I kept my mouth shut.
  23. You do realize that emulation on its own is illegal? And no, it is not $30 a month, it is a one time thing for all of the ROMS/ISOS. You do realize that emulation is not illegal but having roms for games you don't own is illegal. And selling it is even more illegal. And I accidently typed $30 bucks a month.
  24. Tournaments require time and skill, two things I don't have enough of. So I'm just content playing with myself and my friends. Sometimes I win, sometimes I don't. All I know is that I would get completely owned at a fighting game tournament.
