  1. And I bet that dual screen thing will sell like hot cakes. Even though its stupid and pointless (so far atleast), people will eat up like chocolate parfait from Copeland's.
  2. Woohoo! I made the top 3! Yay! But is it a list I want to be on? No... Oh well, no harm is studying some of these viruses and posting a little on the 1EMU board.
  3. Ninetendo will always be there because all old people still call all video game consoles "Nintendo." "Son, why are you stilling playing that Nintendo?" "It's a Playstation 2, mother! Go fix me dinner!"
  4. Hmm...the way most science grants work is that there isn't enough money to buy a whole mess of useless computers. Even though its Stanford and Dr. Pande probably has atleast a 2 million dollar grant for this project, its not enough. That money is spend on buying useful equipment such as DNA replicators, PCR machines, and paying for research students (yeah, we're treated like equipment). This is a cost effective way to process such algorithms because it harnesses the power of already present computers that have an internet connection. And do you have any idea how many P2 (or even P3) processors he'll need to do what Folding@home can accomplish? Millions of them. Well more like hundreds of thousands. This is a school that operates on government funds (which are being cut more and more), not Celera or Genentech (big corporations that work for profit). And I wouldn't want to start a 1emu team without atleast his go ahead. Him and Magnis own the 1emulation name. I mean, I wouldn't want some stupid Premium Member forum lacky to form a team on my behalf if I owned a webpage. But that's just me.
  5. Now stupid people who won't notice your smileys will be like "DUH! What!? RIAA? No! Folding@home is evil. I don't want to help the pursuit of science. Duh..." And the RIAA hasn't won the government law that allows them to dig in your computer. Not yet atleast. All they can do is pester the ISPs to give them records on people upload and download rate. But they're worried about uploaders since they are the providers. Kind of like how drug enforcement goes after the dealers first, so they can get rid of the supply. Just to clarify for the people that won't bother reading the FAQ, Folding@home uses spare cycles on your PC. So it won't conflict with anything that you do. Unless its ultra processor and memory intensive. Then you can just pause it or shut it off.
  6. I don't know. Maybe its like that betting show Banzai! Tiger vs. Lion vs. Rabbi PLACE YOUR BETS NOW! BETTING ENDS! God that was a dumb show.
  7. That's because this thread 0wns all. Even the cosplay thread. This has quality, that has quantity.
  8. Schools don't want people to install software other than those prescribed by them. And universities are doing it. Check out the Team stats page. In highschool we had a little 5 person team running, but since we didn't have internet in our rooms we had to install them on the school computers and we got in trouble. And most of Folding@home teams are online communities such as HardOCP, Icrontic, Overclockers.com, MaximumPC Magazine, ArsTechnica, Futuremark, Apple, AMDmb, Anandtech, and many more.
  9. Good idea for a poll. I should have done that in the first place, and in here. But yes people, this is a good idea. And it won't affect the servers. We will just rally behind the name 1emulation.
  10. ...You want my real rating? 1/10!! Now that's the definition of crap, not even Ok, CRAP!! You've really hurt my feelings. I spent days on that picture for you Gamecop. I bled for that picture. If my work is unappreciated by you, then...then...then I'm going to drown myself!!! *sob* *sob* One day you're going to see that hanging the Lourve and you'll be like "I mocked him. Oh can you ever forgive me GryphonKlaw?!" But seriously, that took me a whopping 5 minutes to make. The part that took the longest was messing with the color of your avatar to somewhat match the background. When I saw that picture online, I knew I had to do something with it. Even though if that something is this piece of crap, its something. My serious rating for that is more like 0.5/10. But that picture just says so much so I still give it a 10. A perfect 10. Nyah!
  11. The coolest free sample that I've ever received was these little chocolate cakes at the local supermarket. Those were awesome...yumm.... Or medicines. My dad is friends with a whole bunch of doctors so we get all this free medicine. It's awesome. We haven't gone to the pharmecy in a damn long time.
  12. Well its rumored that Xbox games etc will not be compatiable with Xbox2.....If that is the case then MS are gonna lose then next gen console wars by a very large margin... Nope. PS3 is going to have compatibility issues as well. The processors are going to change, thus the games prior are going to be impossible to play. Both Sony and MS are in a pickle over this. If one is able to pull it off, it is the other's demise. Anon. Sony has hired the best emulation authors to make ps3 be able emulate ps1 and ps2... You mean they've hired Frost's friend?! Awesome! Where did you hear this news? Sony was advertising all over the net and in the newspaper for experienced emulation personnel.... Also Sony will make the PS3 backwards compatible with the PS2 and PS1 because thats what gave the PS2 its edge.... I bet its a sting operation. They lure all the best emulators and then arrest them. It'll keep them away from emulating all the other consoles. Or Sony could steal specs from the new XBOX and have them work on that emulator so it would devalue the console when it comes out.
  13. No, we let the hurricanes take care of the Mardi Gras mess. Ouch, nasty. Who needs public cleaners anyway? Either the hurricanes take care of it or the prisoners from the nearby maximum security penitentiary, Angola. But I haven't been to Bourbon Street in a while...I need to go there soon. But I'm not 21 yet so that's a huge hassle.
  14. No, we let the hurricanes take care of the Mardi Gras mess.
  15. It's Broom hair! Not a fro!
  16. Oh you bastard...I deleted 4 gigs of important stuff to make room for all the ROMs which I was expecting to be pouring from your ants. flock you and flock your ants...
  17. So far it doesn't seem like its going to happen Oh well, I'm still folding for team Icrontic, even though I haven't been to that site since the new management.
  18. I was in the mood for some lighthearted fun so I decided to create this magnificent piece of art. I think it belongs in a museum next to some Van Gogh's and Picasso's. I rate this a solid 10/10. This picture proves my awesome photoshopping skills. Fear me. Hopefully this link will work... So, what do you think about this? Gamecop, what do you think about this?

  20. My friend at MIT got two letters from the IT guy and had to meet with him once. It because he was uploading a lot. They don't seem to have much of a problem with downloading as much as uploading.
  21. So they're buming off my computers power just for their selfish acts of heroism, i dont buy it buddy. You're kidding right? How else do you expect them accomplish this? Its a lot cheaper than buying super computers. And read the FAQ where they explain why Folding@home is better than using super computers. Because more people can do it so its better. More cost effective. And just better. I'm just waiting for Gamecop or Magnis to signal and OK this since only they have the authority and right to form a 1emulation team.
  22. Set the trap Take a nap Draw a map Oh, I'm such a sap I fell for my own trap.
