  1. Well that goes back to the old saying, "Sex sells." What better way to push a game than to market it to horny 13 year olds that masturbate to the game when their parents aren't at home. Or they appeal to fat, loser, sweaty, nerds ala the Simpson's Comic Book Guy. That's who the game caters to.
  2. Nope. 10 minutes is the rule. I sit there with a stop watch and if in 10 minutes, I'm not aroused. I snatch the disk (or cartridge) out of the machine and SMASH IT OVER MY HEAD with a loud HEEYA! On a side note, I thought those environmental effects in Virtua Fighter 4 were completely badass. I enjoyed falling in the snow.
  3. Actually I'm just looking for a decent explanation of Kirchoff's Law and how Wheatstone bridges work. I'm not going to copy it! I'm not THAT sad! And yes I'm in college like it makes any difference.
  4. I'm procrastinating on my lab report. What better way to do that then surf the internet and look for already written lab reports.
  5. Because there's no more real big emulations new...that's why. And we are all sadistic stalkers.
  6. funny.. I never got that feeling when I heard it. Maxxximum Impact! Sounds like a bad porno movie.
  7. i agree with you on one thing that they are to into 2D fighting games. how could anybody say that any of these games (DOA, VF, Tekken) feel alike at all? they are so different. but i have to disagree with you on the other thing that DOA is wack. i think DOA is tight. and i can't wait for DOA online and DOA code cronus. If a game doesn't enthrall me in the first 10 minutes, I stop playing it. The only 3D fighting game that I somewhat enjoy is Soul Caliber 2 (well that series starting from Soul Edge). I'm not going to spend hours on a game just to discover its marvelous indepth gameplay when I can jerk off instead. I have a life, I have work to do, I can't be bothered with such prittle prattle. Fighting games shouldn't take serious effort to enjoy. A good fighting games is easy to learn, difficult to master, like many 2D fighting games. And yes, I am way into 2D fighters because of their speed, their ease of play (yet tough to win), and quite frankly I'd rather see a character do a Kin 1211 Shiki: Ya Otome + Ura 316 Shiki: Saika than see someone perform a 3 juggle punch move. And then you might say, "Well you haven't played enough 3D fighters, Mr. Asshole." I've played most 3D fighters since Virtua Fighter, Battle Arena Toshinden, Tobal, Tekken, DOA, and even that game with swords where one hit can kill (I forget the name of it, it was by Square I'm sure.) My friends love those game so I've had a chance to play them all and I feel no joy when I play them. I will admit, however, that I enjoyed Tekken one for a few days because it was fresh and fun. But then I got bored of it and went right back to jerking off. And I'm not into real worlds martial arts because I can't do any of it in real life. So I don't feel any reason to play a fighting game that features it. And quite frankly, while one of those characters is doing some kata, I'll just burn them with a Power Geyser or electrocute them with a Raijin Ken. But hey, that's just me and I'm a moron so what can you really say about my opinions? Nothing much...except that they're stupid. Ok, back to jerking off (writing a Physics lab report about Wheatstone bridges and Kirchoff's law.)
  8. KOF Maximum Impact...sounds very sexual.
  9. No. I wouldn't play it. I don't like either games by themselves. To me, they feel the exact same. I prefer Virtua Fighter because it feels quicker and the characters are cooler. But this game might be inevitable...oh well, I won't play it.
  10. Johnny Depp outdid himself but he didn't outdo Sean Penn. It's not that dramas are favored, it's just that dramas are the most Oscar worthy. But they say that doing comedy is harder than doing drama so I don't know about that. Comedy is all about timing and chemistry, but drama is about the ability to craft a whole new persona to make the audience believe in. And did you really expect LOTR to not win Best Picture this year? It was predicted after last years Oscars that The Return of the King would nab that prize to sum up the accomplishment of the entire trilogy. My favorite movie this year that was nominated for an Oscar was Lost in Translation. but you can't brush away the fact that the LOTR movies are quite a huge accomplishment in storytelling and fantasy. The sheer magnitude of ROTK was enough to wash away the other contestants. I knew that Seabiscuit and Master and Commander had no chance in hell. Mystic River, maybe... It was really a match between Lost in Translation and LOTR:ROTK. But that was only Sofia Coppola's second movie, and I'm pretty sure she'll be nominated again and possibly even win. Not ever her father's influence could get a her a win... The Coppola's have directing in their genes. It's a pity that Sophia and Spike Jonze divorced, otherwise their children would have like superpower directing and storytelling skills.
  11. Ooh. Wow. Now I feel proud to be a blood relative of Kenny G
  12. I think the reason Mel Gibson didn't build up the Jesus character is because the audience he made the movie for know who Jesus is. I remember seeing him with Diane Sawyer and he was saying this movie was just to portray the suffering he went through for humanities sake. And his suffering is the connection he wanted to make with the audience. "Look how much he suffered for you, now believe in him or burn in hell." That's the impression I got when I was watching the movie. But the devil was a sexy beast...I was like "RORRRW! I'll see you outside in my car..." The movie was quite emotional but since I'm a heartless bastard, I felt nothing. All I could hear was the sobbing of middle-aged Evangelist women. Mel Gibson made the presumption that people going to see this movie know all about Christ and what he did, so that's why the story is about his final hours. I would like to see a movie that celebrates his life and his preachings as well as his death.
  13. Yeah, but the creations that the LOTR team made made the movie feel more alive and realistic. It's harder to make a fantasy movie look realistic and lifelike than a something that already happened. And the costumes were more "faaabulous" for LOTR. That's why Chicago and Moulin Rouge won the past two years. All the academy members are gay And one of the reasons why Gladiator won in 2000 was because of the way the looked, and the sheer amount they had to make, like 10,000 of them. Don't get me wrong, the costumes were great in The Last Samurai, but they were no watch for LOTR. I mean, if the LOTR costume team gave the orcs party hats and tutus, then it wouldn't feel like middle earth. It'd feel like a tranvestites birthday party.
  14. I think it would be a lot tougher to make original costumes than just going through a history book and making stuff like that. Sure the costumes were good in The Last Samurai, but they were more impressive and tougher to do for LOTR. And a lot more costumes had to be made for LOTR.
  15. I was hoping Keanu Reeves would atleast be nominated for his role as Neo. That was some great acting! Better than anything Sean Penn could ever do.
  16. Unfortunatly, Life Aquatic isn't released yet. They are still filming it. =D So he'll be in more movies, as long as Wes Anderson is around and directing. Well yeah. I took the liberty to assume that his role will be a serious comedic one based on his other Wes Anderson collaborations. I can't wait for it, Wes Anderson is a great storyteller. And Bull Murray is just hiliarious.
  17. I seriously doubt Aliens made this galaxy, then who made the aliens? They might have come from another galaxy... I think we're on to something.
  18. Yeah, Shoreh! That's her name. You'll be surprised at the foreign talent. A lot of the actresses nominated were Austrialian this time. But yeah, there's a huge pool of great talent from abroad that needs to be discovered. But Shoreh was just so damn powerful in that role and most people were expecting her to win but I guess it just wasn't to be. Hopefully she will act in more American movies so we can see more of her. She's quite attractive for her age . Is it just me, or is Renée Zelwegger just not that good looking? And Bill Murray's expression was so sad...I felt so bad for him. He looked like he was going to cry. I do think that Sean Penn deserved it for his intense psychologically stressing scenes. Wow those were intense. But Bill Murray has been around and now he's in more serious comedic roles (ie. Rushmore, The Royal Tenebaums, The Life Aquatic, and Lost In Translation) He will probably act again just to get an award Aw man he looked so depressed...I feel bad for him.
  19. As expected, The Lord of the Rings totally 0wn3d everything. It won everything it was nominated for. I predicted most of the winners correctly. I should have put some money on it, I would have cleaned up. I don't think Renée Zellweger should have won for best supporting actress. That woman from The House of Sand and Fog was much better. Oh well, that squinty eyed biatch won. That was the only award I had some beef with, but other than that it was cool. And they honored Blake Edwards which was awesome. He is the director of some of my favorite movies like The Pink Panther and other movies with Peter Sellers. And Billy Crystal was pretty funny, so it wasn't that bad.
  20. Alright, thanks dude! I'll hit that up as soon as I can.
  21. no it is not working. plus i am sure it says so when you try to play the game. since there is no such thing as test drivers you will see non working games in mame now. Yeah, I was just making sure it wasn't working overall and its just not the rom set I have. Thanks for clearing it up. Raiden 1 is alright for now
  22. Sorry about the delayed answer, forgot to check back with this thread. I work at the corporate lab for a large food producer. My position is officially supposed to be mostly field work. Most of our production facilites have small on-site labs for basic aerobic plate count, E. coli, Staphylococcus, and yeast/mold testing. They cut and ship samples to the corporate lab for pathogen and pesticide residue testing. I travel to these labs and audit the protocols (i.e. make sure they doing everything correctly). I am also responsible for traveling to any facility that begins to have problems with elevated microbial counts or positive pathogen results to help them stop the problem... this usally involves trying to locate any harborage where the bacteria are likely living. BUT I have done much less of this in the last year due to a large volume of research projects happening at the corporate lab. Right now I am mostly helping conduct the projects. Most of the projects relate to new anti-microbial treatments that can be used in production facilites. Ah cool. I hate doing Aerobic Plate Count. I always have to dilute like 12 times! It's horrible. I wish we could just use the Coulter counter method. Let the machine do all the counting.
  23. SVGA? What are you talking about?! This thing is running perfectly on EGA! You'll have to upgrade from your Tandy, but it's worth it man. It's CPS-3 emulation!
  24. This seems like a fun idea. I'll contribute once my mid terms are over in 2 weeks. I have no time for serious role playing now.
