Weren't DVD players ridculously expensive when they first came out? It'll be the same cycle but I don't see as many people jumping on the HD bandwagon as they did with DVD.

I would have already suggested AMD by now. I say screw the Conroe upgrade and go for the SLI since if and when you upgrade to Conroe, you may end up getting a new mobo anyway.

You can't use printscreen. To take pics you need to use FRAPS or something.

Doesn't 1080p run at 30fps max? I'm pretty ignorant on everything HDTV. If Sony does put out an online system equal to XBOX Live! for free then I wonder if Microsoft will also make it free. Either that or they'll have to add more stuff to Gold. A free service that does matchmaking and a friends list might not be too tough to do really, especially for a company like Sony. I know some people speculate that one of the reasons MS charges is that they pretty much have a lock on an integrated online system in the console market so they can get away with charging people money.

I don't know if the FX-60 is available for sale but I've seen benchmarks of it. I really haven't checked since it's way out of my price range.

If the games require an HDD and the system doesn't come packaged with one expect A LOT of angry customers. I don't know why Kutaragi even said that, he should have just not said anything like that. Simultaneous launch sounds cool though. Although, it says 6 million units by March 2007. That means the launch is going to be even worse than Xbox 360s. It seems the best case scenario would be 2 to 3 million at launch and I think the demand for PS3 is going to definitely be higher than XBOX 360 in Japan and probably Europe. That's of course if they meet their production target. Time to preorder and put it on ebay. I'd wait till E3 for any price info at the earliest.
