sugarplums are dancing in my head...
DreamCastLover replied to ME!'s topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Yeah, one magazine gave it 2/10 I will wait until I have played it because reviews are often wrong. People said it is just like an N64 remake of Zelda but in Space. Zelda rocks, so it can't be that bad can it? -

Ok I was sitting and thinking what classic games I wanted to download, then I thought to myself "hmm I want to play some old PC DOS stuff". Now we all know that XP doesn't do DOS and it sucks in Win 2000 and ME. So I had a great idea that someone could emulate an old PC system (soundcard, graphics card, mouse, drivers, 386/486/pentium 1 architecture) and put it all in an emulator for our spankin fast new computers. Then I did some searching and found out it had been done already w00t. Now I haven't tested any of these but I will probably tomorrow. If anyone has used them before, wants to try them or knows anything about them then please give some feedback. They might all suck but it's worth a try. Where can I find WWF Wrestlemania 2000?
DreamCastLover replied to fast benny's topic in N64 Emulators [/pc/n64]
<edited out> has it. Be a bit patient navigating through the site as it is a bit slow. I tested the WWF Wrestlemania 2000 N64 link and it was working fine though -
What portable system you think will come out next
DreamCastLover replied to XXLEnigma's topic in Other Emulators [/pc/other]
Yeah but they haven't managed to get battery power loss down to 10% with the new backlight. So who knows when it will be released Anyway the next handheld to be released is from Nokia. This beast is called the N-gage and you can read about it here. View a picture of it here. It should be pretty powerful but I hope the pad layout is not like the one in the pic. Too many buttons in the way which is not good for quick gaming. There was also another handheld being made by phone manufacture Eriksson which you can read about here. It was cancelled in April last year though. The GP32 is also being released in the UK sometime early next year. It has a few commerical Korean games, mostly RPGs right now. It already has a Snes emulator and lots of ports of Amiga games on it. It can play MP3s (mind you, so can the GBA), Movies and connect to the internet. That and it is only going to cost about £50 Basically, any competition for the GBA is good because Nintendo have had it easy for way too long. 60% of the GBA games so far are complete crap, and competition will make that number go down. Oh, and before I forget. You should all download Super MOnkey Ball Jr for the GBA. It is so damn good it makes me cry Get it it from one of the latest roms sites that I posted in this very forum. -
Lets have a way to give people help votes...
DreamCastLover replied to XXLEnigma's topic in Suggestions Box [/feedback]
Yeah, a good idea on paper but in practice you end up getting a divided forum. Someone can give you a bad vote just because you have a different opinion from them about something. I think the best way is to keep it as it is. That way everyone is equal unless they start flaming or do something equally stupid to earn themself a telling off or a ban -
What do you folks think about the latest nirvana CD?
DreamCastLover replied to XXLEnigma's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
It's got great Nirvana songs on it. All of which I own already because I have every Nirvana going. So I don't really need to buy it. Kurt Cobain would have hated it though because it's mainly about making money. -

You damn tease -
Well I played it and it's rubbish. Ok so it has some breasts in it but you can find them anywhere on the internet without having to spend $40 on a crap game to go with it. BMX XXX is what is wrong with a lot of the games industry. Lots of eye candy, a few funny gimmicks but where is the game? hello!? I beg of you all to play this before you buy, to see what I mean... As for Acclaim, I think they used to be quite decent (up to the Saturn) but now they suck hugely(apart from Ferrari F355, every single one of the 20 or so games they released on Dreamcast were bloody awful). They sell games with stupid advertising stunts now. Turok was fairly bad and they used a stupid name changing stunt to sell it over here. They basically gave people £500 and an Xbox to change thier name to Turok. It turned out the people who did it were all actors wanting exposure. Then they said they would pay speeding fines on the day burnout 2 was released. Now Burnout 2 is actually a very decent game. You don't need an irresponsible advertising campain to sell it. So to sum up, YES, BMX XXX is bollocks but I bet it sells LOADS.

Fustrated with trying to download Roms
DreamCastLover replied to Bladez's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
I check too. That is the thing about rom sites. They can go down as quickly as they go up. If anyone makes a request here then we will be sure to find you a working link or say we can't find it. We would never give a dud. -
You should all give it up Actually I know how hard it is because my friends are always trying and failing and even my brother. The best way to see it though is that if you smoke a £4 pack of cigs a day. That is £1460 a year Just think of how many games and consoles you can buy with that kind of cash!

Burnong ie archives on a cd, need help
DreamCastLover replied to alexis's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
WHen using windows.9x you can just go to c:windows and make a straight copy of the folder called favourites. I have done this before to make a backup of my links and it worked fine. I just took everything from that folder and used Nero to burn it as a data cd. The filenames stayed the same too. I mean technically even if the name of the shortcut is changed, the actual shortcut should remain the same This is probably no help anyway. You are probably using XP too -

Microsoft take new approach to Xbox in Japan
DreamCastLover replied to DreamCastLover's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
And it's official. Modded Xbox's are being banned from Xbox live http://news.com.com/2100-1040-966419.html Way to kill your last chance of making any money Microsoft -
Considering XP is never ever supposed to crash, a nice format and reinstall sounds like the best option. I like to do it every once in a while anyway to have my computer running nice and super fast again.

DreamCastLover replied to ME!'s topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
You easliy made the right choice by getting a Gamecube. I have a Gamecube and an Xbox and my Xbox has been collecting dust for weeks because all the good games have dried up at the moment. There is some good stuff coming next year though plus if I get broadband I might get Xbox live. The way I see it, this is the reason you should buy each console: Gamecube: Get one of these if you want a low quantity of games but with more high quality games than crap ones. Best buy right now. Xbox: Get this if you love online gaming because MS are spending $2 billion on that Xbox live sucker. In 6 months time, this will be a much better buy than it is now, due to lots of sweet games coming. PS2: Get this if you want Lots of low quality crap games and a few high quality ones. Or basically if you want to play the GTA or Squaresoft games. NTSC version is nice apart from all games having jaggies. PAL version sucks because you get 50Hz mode games that are slow and have huge borders. we get it 1st of January I can't wait! -

Who do u hate the most in the gaming community?
DreamCastLover replied to Diso's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
My personal favourite hate is people who think they are elite because they have a huge post count in forums. Yet, nearly all of those posts are gained from flaming or posting complete crap and spam junk. I hate the way a lot of people assume that just because someone is new to a forum that it means they are new to computers and therefore stupid. I also don't like "L33T" people who are arrogant and mean to everyone just because they feel they are better than everyone else. That is why I like this place. Everyone does thier best to be helpful and nice to everyone else. That is the way any community should be *group hug ew someone touched my leg. I will kill you! cause I am L33T. -
If theres no emulation how do we keep ourselves awake?
DreamCastLover replied to Alpha's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
I have played it but not online. It's a great game though and the new add on looks cool too I am not good enough to taunt people but I am pretty decent. The worst thing is the people who use headshot scripts and stuff and talk about how "l33t" they are. I agree about wanting to kill people though. Maybe all that crap about video games making us violent are true *shotgun pump action noise /me goes to kill some people -
Yeah they are called liars They sit and tell you how bad and wrong it all is while they download thier MP3s and movies on Kazaa, playing ZSnes with thier full rom set "Yes I own all 3000 games" Of course you do! Nobody will snitch on you here buddy. There will only be much appreciation
-
I had: spectrum ZX Commodore Vix 20 Commodore Amiga 500+ Commodore 64 Amstrad CPC 464 Some old Apple crap thing. I have: The Amiga is all I have left Thank goodness for emulation!

DreamCastLover replied to Alpha's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
I play Counter Strike, Day of Defeat, Firearms, Team Fortress Classic and other half-life mods like the Tron motorcycle and Judge Dredd ones. I have never had much time for MMORPGs except for Phantasy Star Online and I gave that up because someone NOL'd me and I lost a level 90 character . I will probably start playing online a lot more when I get broadband. Both on PC and my Xbox. I also want GC Phantasy Star online because Nintendo will be dealing with cheats and also you can download NiGHTS onto your GBA with it
