  1. Joystiq has a heads up that Luminus is heading for XBL Arcade http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/09/lumines-...ox-live-arcade/ Anyone got the link for MS's Keynote?
  2. Looks like Wii's controller shell has been revealed, even via Nintendo's website (see url). Wiigamer writes: "Our sources have confirmed to us that this is definitely real, however several questions still remain - why is there a cable, and does the remote simply click onto the bottom of the unit? Or is it now a stand alone unit?" Nintendo made no mention of the controller shell at today's media briefing, but hopefully we'll learn more when the E3 show floor opens tomorrow. Joystiq Referring URL in the post. Old school goodness reeks of it.
  3. Just finished watching the Nintendo keynote. And all I have to say is wow. They've once again taken this year's pre-e3 show. Showed off the Wii and a few of it's games, including a 2v2 WiiTennis match up. Words cannot express how exicted I feel.
  4. FASA did a good job with the titles. I have all the faith in the world that this game is gonna be good. I'm just a little irked it's an FPS game. Unless it's an RPGFPS, like Oblivion and Deus Ex, that'd be just awesome. I also love how the continity of all the games fit perfectly with the offical canon. Isn't that awesome?
  5. To everyone else, it's just another expo, to us gamers, this is our first Chrismas of the year. This year's E3 is going to be spectacular on all fronts. PS3 and Wiivolution debut this week along with a handful of tech demos and popular titles. Daevel is doing some local reporting from the event this year, as he did last year. You can ask him questions of what he sees in the floor and his impressions on the new "next-gen" phase of gaming (or ask him for phat loot ). As usual, I, as well as other fellow news posters will (hopefully) post gaming news here from the big companies. Check out the Offical E3 Thread over in Current Affairs or click here. You can read Daevel's impressions of last year's events here. Good luck, and good night.
  6. someone should rename this "The Offical E3 Thread" so we don't have a billion posts running around. On that note; this saturday and sunday on G4/G4TechTV(in canada) will air all their E3 coverage starting at 10 AM EST too 3:30 AM EST. Coverage starts today at till friday starting at 6 PM EST till 2:30 AM EST. I'll be watching that. One of these days, I gotta join one of those blogging gaming sights. I have no life as it is.
  7. For one; PS3 controller, not surprising they went back with the old design after all the complaints. Otherwise, prices are heug leik xbox. I'll be getting one.....in 6 years.
  8. LOS ANGELES--Last August, Sega announced it was preparing a sequel to Virtua Fighter 4, appropriately titled Virtua Fighter 5. The game was being developed for Sega's new Lindbergh arcade board, which is based on a 3GHz Intel Pentium 4 CPU. The fact the board was based on PC architecture led some to speculate the game would be coming to the Xbox 360, as the porting process would be less complex than that to other consoles. Today, Sega announced that Virtua Fighter 5 is indeed coming to a next-generation console...but not the Xbox 360. The game will be exclusive to the PlayStation 3 when it is released in North America in Spring 2007. Like the 360, though, the game will feature high-definition graphics and will support 720p resolution. Virtua Fighter 5 will sport more than 15 characters, including many from previous installments. Also, it will include two new characters, Eileen and El Blaze. Of Chinese descent, Eileen "uses a monkey kung-fu fighting style that she learned from her grandfather, a former kung-fu master," according to Sega. As one might gather from the name, El Blaze is a master of lucha libre, the flamboyant style of Mexican wrestling. Besides introducing two new characters, Sega also released some gameplay details about Virtua Fighter 5. The publisher carefully avoided any mention of an online mode but did say players could win in-game money for their victories, which they could then use at an in-game shop. Sega also said that players could pick form several customizable costumes and "attachable items" that "can be placed onto each fighter's various body parts." Gamespot(ting)
  9. Confirming rumors, Sonic the Hedgehog creator Yuji Naka has officially left Sega to start his own studio, called "Prope." ImageApparently, Naka and Sega are still on amicable terms, as the publisher will contribute 10 percent of the studio's startup capital. Sega said that its support of the company is in line with a plan to help Sega developers form independent companies. According to Prope's website, the name is derived from the Latin word meaning "'beside' and 'near' future." It continues, "We named our company PROPE in the hopes of bringing game entertainment much closer to users, establishing closer ties between users and us, and creating near future entertainment." The firm will commit to new IP, and will officially form on June 1. Projects are yet to be announced. next-gen.biz

  13. Seeing how he's dead in Garou, and alive in KOF. KOFXI fixes all the plot holes that the KOF games have made since the beginning. It fixes the timeline for everyone. Including dead Geese, who is now alive during the MOTW saga in KOF.
  14. May 5, 2006 - With E3 headed our way just after the weekend, we knew we had to leave our readers with something promising while they wait for the big show. With that in mind, we've been granted permission from Activision to announce that Call of Duty 3 is headed to next-generation consoles this fall (that's 2006, folks). Here's the official line provided to us by Activision for the announcement: "Through the eyes of four Allied soldiers, Call of Duty 3 brings players closer to the fury of combat as they fight through the Normandy Breakout, the harrowing offensive that liberated Paris and changed the fate of the world. Developed by Treyarch, Call of Duty 3 is the follow up to the #1 next-generation game and is scheduled for a 2006 release." Click here to watch the E3 trailer! So which systems does "next-generation" really mean? According to the end credits of the official trailer, logos for Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo's machines have all been included -- which makes it obvious as to where the game is going. Speaking of the trailer, Included below is the official E3 teaser that will appear at the show next week. Click the image above to check it out. We'll be back with more at the show. PS3.IGN
  15. No, they retconned him to being alive. Until further notice.
  16. Yes they can, he's dead. Get over it. He'll come back from Dream Matches XD
  17. FRAPS could do it. As for compression, everyone seems fond of what Windows Movie Maker can do, and divx is fairly popular as well.
  18. Challenge Mode = Survival mode. Discuss.
  19. See, when you said that, everything you said about the PSP having no good games, applies to masses.

  21. 1) SS5 and SS5SP also have Enja and Suija, or bust versions of the two brothers. 2) Her popularity is because she was designed after Aynami from NGE. Which apparently, is practically every fanboy's dream. Also because of her includence in the crappy SNK vs Capcom CHAOS also added to her popularity. What Falcoon is subconcouisly doing with the KOFMI series is connecting them too the SamSho64 series. (The includion of Hanzo as a hidden character in KOFMI adds supports to this theory).
  22. I play on another one. I'll PM you the details, but I'm not on it right now. I'll PM you the details, once I figure out what the hell the ip is.
  23. They modified the rules a bit, it isn't 3 cards anymore, it's 5. Plus they updated and added more cards. It isn't a port per se, you could say it's the 3rd SvC:TCG
