  1. Higher res textures is what I'm banking on. It's easier to do that then to completely overhaul something in 2D.
  2. Interplay still exists through the funds they got through Beth from Fallout IP sale, but I believe Interplay still owns the rights to the MMO however, it has until 2016 to get developed I believe before U.S. Govt goes lol no.
  3. Well, she does have the right to stop it since the lexicon is based on her work. If they got official premission for printing it and all the legal jazz out of the way, this would of never of happened.
  4. You do know there has been a Fallout MMO in the works since 2005 right?
  5. nVidia has been atop of the GPU card market for the longest time now after ATi shot themselves in the foot. Not surprising Intel is trying to get into the market, but with their halfed-ass solutions, if their a serious player, no one would buy it. Even with the new technology, it simply won't stand up to an independent graphics processor.
  6. Of course we are such. My name isn't Faust for no reason!
  7. Good thing it was Jenna when she was hot! Edit: Solo porn sucks.
  8. DOGMEAT IS IN ! That is all. Actually, because I read a new impression I found on Joystiq while mindlessly looking for spiffy mods to make Oblivion not suck. I found this impression quiet, interesting to say the least. In a hotel conference room, Bethesda's Pete Hines recently demoed the latest version of the Fallout 3. He trudged through a collapsed building, firing a machine gun at ambling, radiated mutants. The gore made me wince a little, with blood gurgling from zombie limbs. Earlier, he shot the head off another enemy, and blood arced straight out of the neck, as if it was trying to reach the brain one last time. Only minutes earlier, he'd shown me how the player's character grows up in an underground bunker, with those moments acting partly as tutorial and partly as a character creator. Your father, for example, stays hidden in the shadows after your birth until he checks out how the infant will look grown up. Players use a medical gadget to see (read: design) their appearance, then he emerges with roughly similar, paternal features. We've covered the game a few times before, so in addition to my general impressions, I talked with Hines about some recently revealed features. The number of Fallout endings has been a talking point. "We're up to over 500 now," Hines noted. I asked further about what that means. "That's the big thing. 'What does it mean?' It's not 500 completely different things that happen at the end of the game." Fallout 3 follows the spirit of the prior two games by mixing together a slurry of possible cut-scenes and story elements. "For folks who played the original games, this isn't news. It's what the original Fallouts did, where you know, did you do this or did you do this? And which one of those you did plays that part of the cut scene." As Hines moved around dark corners, he showed off the system that lets gamers choose to play as a real-time or turn-based shooter. Basically, you hit a button to activate turn-based mode, pausing the scene, and queuing up specific attacks to enemies. After running out of your attack slots -- these are based on the firing rate and clip size of a weapon -- the action plays out in a brief movie-like sequence. Other times, he lobbed grenades around corners in real time, giggling once when a random zombie arm flung back across our field of view. Above ground, he showed off some of the Washington D.C. landmarks, saying that the city makes up about a fourth of the game. Fallout 3's entire area is smaller than Oblivion, but Hines says it's denser, with more to do and less traveling. I asked if downloadable content would follow in that game's path. Hines answered, "[Downloadable expansions are] certainly something -- given the popularity of the ones we did for Oblivion -- that we'll be looking into. Until we get through the content creation part on the [full] game, it's all theoretical." He showed off a few voiced characters, including your father played by Liam Neeson, but most of the dialogue was still placeholder. Bethesda is working on finishing the rest of the game before the company can go back and add final lines, but Hines expects more than Oblivion, with roughly 50 to 60 different character voices. As far as the total time of recorded lines, he worked me through the math, saying, "I don't know how many hours it is, but I bet it's a lot. 'Cause we're talking about having like three sound studios running 24 hours-a-day for the better part of a month just to get through everything we've got to record, then process and output. There's a lot ... more voice actors than we used [in Oblivion.]" At the end of the hour-long demo, I especially learned that Fallout 3 will take days and weeks to ease into. From wry touches at the beginning -- the A button calls out "Da-da" -- to a helpful dog that understands your commands to bring back food and useful items, Fallout is full of depth. I'm looking forward to seeing the game's other layers with its worldwide, simultaneous release for 360, PC, and PS3 in Fall, 2008. You know, while it is coming to be a great looking game, it still isn't Fallout. Assaignment for you kiddies, go grab Fallout 1 and 2, play the crap out of them, then post in this thread. Since Interplay doesn't really have the rights to redistribute the Fallout games anymore, they should technically be free game right? Right? Guys? (It deserves a buy, you can possibly find it in some bargin bins at game shops and crap)
  9. You have reached Fatal proportions in pictures.
  10. King Kong was the biggest let down in the last 5 years. Too much emphisis on being CGI, it's slow build up and medicore dailogue is also another reason why it was just felt so average. It got a decent acting from SOME of the actors, but it leaves more to be desired for. I do praise it's cinematography though, it was top notch.
  11. Meh, they ran it with CFJ, but because the original intention fell short of people leaving the company and dumping it on Ono means no more crossovers for now.
  12. Their aim is to get it out before Tougeki beings in August, because KOF98 is once again making an appearence. PS2 version is currently TBA from all I can gather, the Arcade version however, is set to come out within the next few months.
  13. Corny too. GC is living the dream of B-Ratedness.
  14. It's for sports and sports alone, if any country wants to use it for political motivation, GTFO of my Olympics. I'm all for freeing Tibet, but when crap like this happens, it takes away from the sporting events and more focus on political wetworks of countries.
  15. The 360 doesn't have too many FPS games. In fact a majority of 360 games are adventure games from the 3rd person. It's just the FPS games are usually the big thing.
  16. Weird, I never experienced this until a few days ago. It's not an overheating problem. While turning on my 360, I managed to get the initation screen again by accident. Now after that mind bending problem, every time I watched a movie or listen to music via the 360, after 20 minutes no contact with the 360, the 360 automatically shuts off. This does not happen during gameplay, only one of my wirelesses turns off during gameplay after 20-30 minutes. Someone please tell me WTF IS GOING ON. Is this some wacky console setting or what?

  18. if only the xbox had the horsepower. another game i would like to play but plays way to slow is sengeki strikers.but it runs on the sega stv board and is WAY to slow. Well, Tekken 1 to 3 and TTT seem very fesible. Make the crappy soundtrack sound samples smaller and you could do it. Since their the PSX builds anyways, and TTT uses the arcade one.
  19. All mods as far as I know, you need to make some sort of modification inside.
  20. They held a test last month for balancing added characters and rebalancing the older ones.
  21. I see your Boba Fett and raise you a Han Solo and Admiral Ackbar.
