  1. Sorry, but winning with 6 Frame Delay doesn't count.
  2. It's not a bad design. It's what happens over time. See, back in `94, not everyone knew Sim was the best character to use. There was about 15 people at the time who were considered experts with Sim. There wasn't a definate list of who could beat who back then. Only now, nearly a decade later we have a definitive list of whose the best against who. There were times when everyone thought Zangief was the best because of his grapples. Another time with Honda for his incredibly stupid and effective wake up game. ST match ups isn't something that happened over the last few years ya know, it's had 12 years of tried, tested and confirmed gameplay. Tiers exist because their ranked by character efficentcy of who can beat who plus how many tournaments has that character won in particular. All fighting games have this. It's not something the developers make, it's the players. Tiers are player influenced and what leads SNK, Capcom and whoever still makes fighting games to fix and make balance. I remember when everyone thought Hibiki in CVS2 was Top tier because she was fast and had the best recovery after falling, wrong. After the discovery of Roll Canceling (bug), it lead to many more characters getting better because of it. Even without RC, Hibiki is high level 3 tier at best with N groove and 2nd tier with A. SNK is bringing back KOF98, there were bugs and broken gameplay in the original and guess what, SNK is fixing it and rebalancing it for a new release this year for both Arcades and consoles. Tiering is never set in stone when a game comes out. It takes time for a definitive list for it to appear. Come back when you have actual and proper gameplay analysis. You know NOTHING on this topic of rebalancing gameplay.
  3. Sirlin is making charcaters that didn't have any chance at all at having some chance against the more better character. So if you don't think speeding up totem is good, then go die. All of the world's top players don't use one character exclusively. It's ST baby. All bout match ups. Wanna beat `Gief hands down? Use Chun. Want to beat Ryu? Use Ken. Wanna beat Ken? Use Sagat. Wanna beat Sagat? Well, that's a problem since he's the 2nd best character in the game, even Sim has trouble with him. The list goes on and on. Most notoriously, everyone who doesn't have a fireball, has trouble against those with fireballs. Their giving everyone buffs, and minimum nerfs. Especially those who need it. KOF98UM is addressing issues that were in the original KOF98 and their making it better with much better balance. So everyone isn't having teams with Daimon/O.Guy who grapples. YOGA SNIPER!
  4. That and some skills!!! U need neosporin for that BuuurrrrNN!! until you've played Wiz over kai or something I dun think you should make assumptions of his skills. I'm surprisingly beast.
  5. Well now that you mention that, I hope Ken's OTG Throw combo still works.
  6. I guess in a turn of irony, both Hokuto no Ken and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure reference and homage Western styles. The west made it first, then Japan takes it, then you have people like me referencing the Japanese works in their writings which were originally Western references and styles in the first place. Beyond the fact of continuity issues in most Western works, it's also the fact with the rotating writers, there are also rotating artists. Which is very rare in the East. There is also the fact, the majority of artists work by themselves, doing all the drawing, inking and coloring themselves compared to Japan (and most of the East as well), were most artists have several assistance. As someone whose trying to get a comic to get published, it's only me and one other guy. We opt to only color the front, the back and the first 4 pages with the rest of the book in B&W. To save time and money. As previously said here, I believe. Because of the rotating artists, there is no definative art style in the West. Everyone has their on flair and take on drawing with multiple inspirations that include artists from the East as well. It's the thing most people have a problem with japanese comics is, depending on the artist or artists involved. Everyone will look the same or styles will look all very similar. Other places, such as Hong Kong, have their comics (called manwa apparently) drawn more like Hokuto no Ken from the looks of it. They do offer more varity compared to the Japanese, taking more different approaches in coloring and inking akin to classical paintings from Europe.
  7. Balancing and stress test? Count me in!
  8. http://up2.viploader.net/pic/src/viploader599331.jpg New character revealed. Name is uh, El Forte or something. All I know is he's mexican, fights with lucha and his name translated is "The Strong One."
  9. I'm not. You got edit crazy with logs back in the old days and put words into other people's mouths.
  10. Whose confirmed so far? Sonya, Yello and Blue Ninja and Lui Kang from an ancient interview from Boon.
  11. Legit stuff only. Which may come in the form of; Free downloadable albums or singles releases (Only exception here would be if they were discontinued being free, such as Radiohead's "In Rainbows" album. Which is now aviable on CD in all major retailers and musical outlets). Audience Sourced material. Such as concerts from bands that allow recordings overall, or those who are grey about it, such as Radiohead, Bloc Party and Metallica. Fanclub mail outs, free disc releases that have been ripped. Archive.org Material So, I'll kick things off with some Sigur Ros. Sigur Ros & Hilmar Orn Hilmarsson - Odins's Raven Magic - It's audience recording and thus never officially released. The band themselves and their management have said that a recording of this can be freely distributed as pleased. Live from Barbican Hall in Iceland, 21/04/02. The Frames live at The Metro. A very good irish band and this is an audience recording. The band has no official stance on fan recordings, but have been very low key about it and they don't outright stop it as it garners attention to them, espeically in the U.S. (as they are huge in Ireland). There are tons of free material on Archive.org and I suggest checking it out. If you got free music (as in, it's legally free). Go crazy and post it up.
  12. Arcade and PS2 version are very different. The PS2 version you can think of as Rumble Fish 1.5, as the console characters made their way to TRF2. Anyways, fun game, really like the gameplay mechanics and really colorful cast of characters, I just wish they'd port TRF2 already to PS2. I need my Beatrice damnit!
  13. Wow, thank you Captain Obvious! Thank you very much for telling me! FOR I DID NOT KNOW!
  14. No, you need to understand that characters are system indepented from each other. If you can't understand that, we can't help you. Miyako there is based on her Melty Blood incarnation, while Omega Geonitz is edited to be faster from someone's original Geontiz creation. Maybe you can't tell the difference between a screen pack and actual character edits. For that matter, if you want screen packs, places like mugen infinity can help with screen packs. And if you don't know what screen packs are, their what give the game it's visual flare. There are tons of those. What MUGEN engine is that? MUGEN. What screen pack is that? Looks like the guy built it himself using various downloaded sections (life bars, fonts etc). "What is the best engine?" There's only one engine, and that's MUGEN. What you see in vids is people's creations, created with a system that is unique to the character. Such as most of Warsuki3's CVS2 style characters. If anything, you are ignorant to our pleas that what your asking simply does not exist. It's not a cry out to be mean against you or anything either. It's just what you are asking simply does not exist.
  15. Podcast is way better because we can edit when the hell we want it too be also the fact GC can't edit worth a crap. No offense, but I can do that, just "produce' the thing and leave the rest to me, I got all the time in the world. Fair use laws allow us to use whatever music we want. HEAR THAT GAMECOP, WHATEVER WE WANT.
  16. Good thing I could care less if I was or not. Glad we agree. I do hear from time to time that you do want it May be a case of people taking the internet to serious when in fact someone is just messing around. Haven't you heard, the internet IS serious buisness.
  17. Bunch of BS. He falsified tons of logs from the GS days.
  18. Good thing I could care less if I was or not. Glad we agree. I do hear from time to time that you do want it
  19. Good thing I don't have fatal on my msn :V
  20. BAAAAAAAAAW come back when you actually have balls other then "gay ninja." Gay? I'm more manly then you and your so called "moon ninjas"
  21. Less Buttons for Special Normals = Good. Increses flexibility with characters. Means you can add MORE special normals for characters.
  22. It would help to know that the game isn't complete yet and still is missing characters. Whatever you start button is + any other button one certain characters to get alternate versions.
