Don't feel bad, I didn't at first and actually thought there was a new emulation site called Vtemu and then click the link to find emu-oils.. @Gamecop, no worries as I actually thought it was quite funny. I am in no way offended by it and know how to take a joke. I was planning on contacting Gamecop concerning an affiliation later this week after I had taken care of some things, it appears that Gamecop was also considering an affiliation thus mentioned it first. What Gamecop was saying, is the name of my website is "xtemu" and he accidentally typed "vtemu" (V is close to X on the keyboard) therefore got a site on emu-oil hence the joke.

Caffeine in soda pop, it's highly addictive.

I am really sorry to hear that, I can only imagine how depressing and sad that must be for you to deal with, especially raising a young daughter without her mother being there. My condolences and wishes go out to both you and your daughter. I hope you can pick up the pieces and move on past this event to make the most for yourself and your daughter.

I didn't see this post until after I already posted and sent you the message. It's fixed now, I thank you for looking into it.

PM me your true IP address and it may be one of the ones in the banlist from previous spambots. We do ban IP ranges too. Also, we do have a Site Feedback forum. -> http://www.1emulation.com/forums/index.php?showforum=4 Oops my apologies then, I'm used to the feedback forum being named site feedback on most communities which is why I likely made the mistake. My IP address changes quite a bit, I'm on satellite and subscribers are assigned a shared IP address. What my IP appears as on the net externally to websites, is not the actual IP I am actually assigned, that is just the shared/routed IP address. My actual IP could be the one that is blocked, but alas there is no way for me to find out what that IP is since the shared/routed IP is always the one that is reported. I'm PM'ing you a couple IP's to see if they are on the list..

Either I'm blind or a site feedback section is really missing from this forum. Anyways there's an odd issue, I loaded the page for the forum and was greeted with a "Sorry You Don't Have Permission to Use the Forum" error, with the login box below asking me to login. However I wasn't able to login, and still got the error mentioned above. I was finally able to login and post by changing the an alternate proxy by my ISP, and using a proxy to login. However using a proxy is quite slow with my connection, but I was unable to access the board unless I did so. Any idea on why I am or was having this problem?

Welcome Back to 1Emulation.Com v4.0 BETA!
Xtreme2damax replied to Alpha's topic in 1Emulation.com Information [/info]
The arcade is one of the most awesome things on a gaming/emulation forum. Did 1emulation have the IbProArcade modification installed? I remember hearing of problems with that particular version, reading that it contained an SQL injection vulnerability/exploit which is why I started using the IpbCoding arcade system on my community. I hope the arcade system will make a comeback in the future, as I would love to challenge some of the folks here. -

Looking good so far, any decision on what skin is going to be used for 1emulation now? I presume the former skin is unable to be used on the updated versions of IPB which is why it wasn't reinstalled. I can't wait to see what unfolds in the coming days/weeks. -
Yes in a way it does, before long these games will finally have sound and music. This is quite the milestone in Gamecube/Wii emulation, I believe I've read that the Dolphin team has uncovered things about the DSP hardware that wasn't even documented in widely used documentations such as YAGD.
-
The Dolphin team has been working hard on DSP emulation in order to get sound in many first party Nintendo games that lack sound such as Zelda/Mario games. Just recently a breakthrough was made in DSP emulation, there is now some sounds that can be heard in Zelda: Twilight Princess (GC), Zelda: Windwaker, Mario Kart: Double Dash. The sound is broken up, distorted and crackly, but a bit of sound can be made out such as links footsteps/sword slash in Windwaker, the sound Epona makes in the TP intro movie can somewhat be heard along with other sounds or noises, you can hear some broken or garbled sound/music Mario Kart Double Dash. There is a lot of garbage or garbled/broken sound, but it's still great progress. There is no sounds in Mario Galaxy/Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion yet, Mario Sunshine and Luigi's Mansion have sound in the intro movie/Nintendo logo, while Mario Galaxy has just garbage sound or static. Unlike the Gamecube version of Twilight Princess, all the Wii version does is output static or garbage sound. As of Revision 3499 these changes were implemented: http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/source/detail?r=3499

1Emulation Hacked Warning

I wish hackers would flocking die, freaking low life bastards/script kiddies that have nothing better to do than toy with others hard work. I hope that this hole gets patched up fairly quick. PS.. I'd love to see these script kiddies try and hack my secure IPB install, and then me weep with tears of joy as I ban them while my forum remains untouched. -
This was over dramatized, generating fear of an epidemic just like the supposed widespread epidemic of the Avian flu. In the end there was nothing to worry about, very few casualties, and everyone got back to their everyday lives.

Hmm, I just bought a brand new Wii a month or two ago that came with system menu/firmware 4.0, and was successfully able to enable my Wii for homebrew with the Twilight hack and successfully downgrade to 3.2.

National Bill Seeks to Mislabel Video Games.

I did my part and sent the pre-made letter disagreeing with this load of bullcrap, I hope enough people vote against this so it gets vetoed and turned down. -
I never heard of him or EmuAsylum, but this is sad news indeed to hear. So what will happen to the website that he ran now? At least he's in a better place, and not suffering anymore. I get sad to hear of anyone passing away or hearing anyone suffer even if I don't know them. I give his family my condolences and wish them luck in this hard time. On an unrelated note, Martin has been absent from Emutalk for the longest time, which I am slightly worried about.

What you guys are referring to sounds like something I've implemented on my forum last year, however nothing illegal of course. Anyway it doesn't have to be porn or anything illegal, just be a place for reputable or higher ranking members to converse about personal or private issues and qualms they don't want the general public to see. Preferably invite only, every potential invite is reviewed before reviewed before anyone is accepted to ensure utmost confidentiality. It can be a place that members of the group can post personal projects, art, music, or anything else they want to show off that they don't want the general public to know about providing it stayed within legal boundaries of course.

RetroMags.com - Preserving RetroGaming Magazines!
Xtreme2damax replied to phillyman's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
I have yet to check this out myself, one of the admins on my forum gave me a heads up about your website. When I get the time it sounds nice to check out. Not a bad idea to keep scans (An online Museum Perhaps) of retro/gaming magazines and articles which I presume is what your site is about according to the description. -
With time things improve, you wouldn't think now that only two or three years ago people were barely able to achieve anything above 0.1 FPS or 1 FPS in the PS2 bios or PS2 games, that owned beastly systems back when PCSX2 was at version 0.8.1. Now look at PS2 emulation, how far it's come, and most games are fairly playable on AMD64 x 2 processors, with the majority of them running full speed on a decent Core2Duo/Quad machine. Same will happen with Dolphin and Gamecube emulation in time, but nothing immediate. As holds true with any emulator Dolphin may get up to a level that makes the majority of games playable with possible sound emulation but emulation of any system will never be a 100& perfect/complete. There will always be the random/odd compatibility issues with some games. TLB emulation isn't currently viable with the hardware that is currently available, as it was mentioned that TLB emulation would slow performance down drastically if implemented. So some of the games that utilize TLB are able to work by using a TLB hack option built into the later revisions that gets these games working somewhat, but not without issues..
-
You would have known this if you've read one of the many faqs that are available for Dolphin and the Svn builds. I even include a basic faq with all my compiles that explains this for the most part... Currently Zelda, Mario and other first party as well as possibly some third party Nintendo/Gamecube titles lack sound because the DSP chip/hardware lacks adequate documentation. Also Nintendo uses a special non AX sound format for their titles, so the dolphin team has to figure out how to properly decode and emulate this format. Sound emulation for Dolphin is still quite poor with quite a bit of work that still needs to be done, just like with proper emulation of the graphics hardware, many games either have missing or corrupted graphics such as Mario Galaxy which also lacks sound like most other Nintendo titles. Also the same deal with the JIT core and TLB emulation, you'll find that many games will either randomly crash while playing or simply won't work because core emulation is still very much a Wip. There are some games that will play without issues or many problems, but for the most part the best thing at this point of time is to have the actual hardware and games on hand just in case, since Gamecube/Wii emulation isn't at the point yet to be considered a viable alternative for the actual system.
