The US army is in fact so over-stretched that people are being sent back to iraq when they are wounded, and also the rule thingy that lets people serve the rest of their term at home after their done overseas is being cancelled. Its so overstretched that reserves are being sent to iraq- reserves are supposed to stay at home and defend the homefront. Explain that to me, then tell me that another war would not force the draft to be reinstated unless the army were to become so overstretched they'd collapse. There's two sets of numbers here, the numbers of wounded soldiers being sent back into active combat after basically getting a band-aid, and the numbers of reserve soldiers being sent off to active duty, then there's the numbers the army proudly displays to try to propagandise people like you.

He slimed me!

It's funny, cause in retrospect the graphics on the psx was crap, but playing the awesome games (MGS, FFVII/VIII, Ridge Racer Revolution, Wipeout, etc...) you just didn't notice.

Yeah, that's what I was referring to. It doesn't look like it'll last long if it's keep snapping back like that. It just sounds cheap. I was thinking of something like a GameCube eject system. This is like a cheap camcorder eject system. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong on this one? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, I see what you mean, and yes it does remind me of a camcorder eject system. It could be prone to breakage, but I'm going to trust sony to be able to build something sturdy - and if worst comes to worst, they could always just sell new plastic covers for a couple of bucks a pop.

Cops seize $1,000,000 worth of counterfeit PS1...
random guy replied to Alpha's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Now of days if your caught with any of that stuff in a US airport, you'll get a serious fine. John Ashcroft lately has increased his fight on piracy, so watch out. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Lol, I can just see Ashcroft at the airport peering at the x-ray screen. Then with a cry of, "What's that, a counterfeit dual shock controller?" he starts jumping up and down on a suitcase. -
I think the plastic is just a cover for the discs, and I'm guessing the sound is the plastic against the metal psp. I could be wrong though.

Take notice of the word "Believe" anybody who insists on pushing the myth that we will have a draft is spouting bullshit. I'm telling you Bush is not going to reinstate the draft. Period. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hey, I'm not saying that Bush doesn't claim to have no intention of bringing back the draft, but the simple fact of the matter is, if you get attacked by terrorists again, or Bush wants more oil, or whatever, one more war would stretch the army so thin they'd have even less chance of winning the wars than they do now (which is pretty slim to begin with). Therefore, if Bush continues to be a wartime president, either the draft will have to be reinstated, or all the reserves/armies sanctioned in allied countries overseass will have to go off to war, thus placing an incredible strain on the army. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> False. Nice try kiddo. Please explain to me why there is a waiting list to join the air force in that case, and while your at it explain why all branches are exceeding 100% of their recruitment goals, and why all branches are experiencing all-time highs in retention rates. http://www.military.com/NewsContent/0,1331..._041404,00.html <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You explain why Bush had to pull troops out of certain European countries recently to send home. Besides which, all those people need to be trained, and that takes time. Not to mention the fact that Iraq is starting to end up like Vietnam - paper-thin premise for being at war, and that premise is slowly getting eroded, 1000 US soldiers dead and no sign of the war stopping...pretty soon the only way to get people to go to Iraq is to force them, much like vietnam.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think it sucks that games keep getting released before their release date and all, but I think it's pretty stupid to call the fans the Underground Army - given that the pirate-groups are the real undergrounders, so to speak.

If Bush wants to even think about starting another war with Iraq and Afghanistan still ongoing, there probably will be another draft. edit: you guys are not alone in your thinking: http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/100...Fears08-ON.html

This is why I stopped using my mobile phone. Well, I wasn't worried about acoustic melanomas, I was worried because I used to carry my phone in my pocket which was much too close to my you-know-where for comfort!

The genesis had more than just sonic. It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure the battletoads series, rock 'n' roll racing and streets of rage were megadrive only. Plus it wasn't really the genesis, but the best console-based adventure game ever (snatcher) was only for the megaCD.

Who are your favorite game developers?

Derek Smart for his mmofwg (massively multiplayer online flamewar game) -
But why don't they program no clipping on 'accessories'

At least it showed dedication!

Oh yeah, croc wrestling comes third to cricket and afl as the most popular Australian sport!

Yeah and if you often download lots of pictures or videos from websites you should get an extension called "DownThemAll", because it makes downloading large amounts of files from a site a breeze.

Okay, from the title I thought you'd become a speed-freak. I suppose fighting is marginally better for you than constant doses of amphetamines. -
Are you serious? Did you really hear a loud truck at 4 am? If so that's a cool coincidence

I'm glad your feeling more cheerful now, but it sucks about the internet thing. -
Heh, that's pretty cool, I didn't notice it either

Here's an example: before I wised up about browsers and started using firefox, I was getting 10-12 bits of spyware per spysweeper scan (all of which got removed with spysweeper, but still), now that I'm using firefox it's very rare that I'll even get 1 piece of spyware per scan.
