  1. Maybe but look at guns as they've already been brought up. Guns have 1 purpose - to kill. And yet, even though murder is a crime, people are allowed to sell guns to people even if that means they are able to commit a crime. Piracy is a far less serious crime, and mod-chips do have legitimate purposes, therefore they should be legal.
  2. I know where you are going with that, and I agree, but the way you phrased that was horrible. With the logic about "the customer being right," the assult weapon ban here in the "Good Ol' U.S." should have happened a long time ago. Anon. I think there's a bit of a difference between a mod-chip and an AK-47. And the irony is that a under the laws trying to be passed in America selling a VCR would be illegal, but selling an AK-47 would be legal!
  3. Not quite the best I've seen (I reserve that for pinpin lelapin) but pretty damn close.
  4. No but I got an upgrade so I could run it on my pc. But also the version I used to have installed was modded to crap anyway - I had a casino, a vampire sword, a patch to add some of the superfluous nudity from Daggerfall that was missing in Morrowind, a banking system, a real-estate system, swords like the blade sword and the gunblade from Final Fantasy 7, a newspaper addon with interview quests... and those were just some of the bigger ones! Once I got back to having to play only the core game, I lost interest.
  5. I don't think I could play god, so in the second scenario I'd have to choose me to be sacrificed (especially as my brother is 6 years younger than me). So is THAT Sophie's Choice? I see. That's a pretty flocked up choice to have to make.
  6. Yeah, that makes sense. Oh well, I'm kind of sick of morrowind anyway - having to restart with zero stats really robbed me of my enthusiasm to play the game.
  7. I wouldn't recommend it because a friend of mine burned me a cd using WMP once and I couldn't play it on my computer because WMP automatically put DRM on the CD. Lol acronym attack.
  8. I hope he wins because I'm sick of this crap. First they try to ban VCRs etc... now mod-chips. The honest consumer's options are being seriously limited by these laws and that is not cool - what happened to the customer is always right?
  9. How does this help you with stats-building though?
  10. Aah, that's better. Thanks James. Alright, what's left to patch, and what will it change?
  11. No no no no, you don't understand. Magnis showed me a way to make 2emulation somewhat decent. I now present to you all...the new 2emulation. http://2emulation.tk/ I can't seem to find it... That's odd...but here is the full link: http://s7.invisionfree.com/2Emulation That might be because you didn't put: http://www.2emulation.tk No, it works (for me at least) with or without the www
  12. DVD burners are awesome. Definitely one of the best (if not the best) purchase I've made for my computer.
  13. I could scan my dvd covers or something
  14. Like I said in the other board, the kids aren't going to go away.
  15. Yeah, try to get a dual-layer DVD burner. I got mine before they came out so I missed the opportunity
  16. That's true but what the gun ban did a lot to stop, and what I'm most concerned about, is gun accidents by ordinary people. I can't remember the statistic exactly, but if you have a gun in your home, you're far more likely to end up accidentally shooting a family member than shooting an intruder. And why the hell do civilians need assault weapons anyway? There is no concievable argument in defence for that question. All the gun ban did was stop regular, law-abiding citizens from obtaining guns unless they knew the loophole. Any asshole could disable the firing pin and legally own most of that stuff, or just strip some of the features off, which were basically window dressing. Any real criminal would roll over a load of arms being transported, or get someone in the military to see to it that a few crates came up missing, and anyone who knew where to look and who to ask could buy basically anything their hearts desired: Flame-throwers, unused rocket launchers, you name it, it's available somewhere, illegal or not. Hell, the Russian military had crooked officials and soldiers who were hustling stuff left and right when the government collapsed. How many anti-tank weapons do you think fell into the wrong hands? How many thousands of crates of AKs probably got bought up and ultimately ended up in the hands of gang members who used them to guard shipments of anything and everything and maybe to execute rivals? All the gun ban did was raise the prices of weapons (After they were modified to be legal, of course) and make people have to go through loopholes or the black market to get what they wanted. It's not like it takes a lot to tap into the black market, even if you live out in the middle of nowhere. As I said, gun control is a noble idea, but it's never going to work. Survivalist nuts will still hoard freeze-dried food and any weapons they can get, and the market will go on. Yes but I'm not concerned about the criminals, I'm concerned about ordinary people -- why the hell does a law-abiding citizen need an AK-47? How is that not going to lead to anything but trouble?
  17. He didn't say that yesterday, did he? What a damn hypocrite he is. No, but he's said it about a million times in the past. Well, he did say that, sort of...indirectly Howard: We’re not cowed CANBERRA: Australia would not be intimidated by a powerful car bomb that killed at least eight people outside its Jakarta embassy yesterday, Prime Minister John Howard said. The blast came as Howard, a close US ally, campaigned for an Oct 9 election and just two days before the third anniversary of the Sept 11 hijacked aircraft attacks on the United States. “This is not a nation that is going to be intimidated by acts of terrorism,” Howard told reporters in Melbourne. Opposition Labor leader Mark Latham described the bombing as “evil and barbaric.” DEFIANT: An Australian flag flying near a damaged building following a blast outside the Australian embassy in Jakarta.--APpic. Howard and Latham have clashed over Australia's role in Iraq, with Latham saying Australian involvement puts it at greater risk of terror attacks. Latham wants Australia's 850 troops in Iraq and the Gulf home by Christmas, a policy stand that has angered Washington, but Howard is adamant they will remain as long as they are needed. Security analysts have warned the rift between Australia's political parties over Iraq has made the country more vulnerable to a Madrid-style attack. Like Australia's Labor, Spain's Socialist Party vowed to pull Spanish troops out of Iraq. The Socialists kept that promise after winning the March 11 elections, three days after 191 people were killed in co-ordinated train bombings in Madrid blamed on Islamic militants. Foreign Minister Alexander Downer, who was due to go to Jakarta yesterday, said Australia had no information about who was responsible for the bomb, but added it was reasonable to suspect the al Qaeda-linked Jemaah Islamiah network was involved. “Naturally enough our suspicions turn to Jemaah Islamiah,” Downer told reporters in Adelaide. “It is clearly a terrorist attack. It was outside the Australian embassy. You would have to conclude that it was directed towards Australia,” Downer said in Adelaide. More than 100 people were injured in the Jakarta blast. Australia has never suffered a major terror attack on home soil but Jemaah Islamiah has been blamed for the 2002 Bali nightclub bombings that killed 202 people, 88 of them Australians. Australia's foreign office warned Australians yesterday to defer all non-essential travel to Indonesia and advised those in the country to consider leaving if they were concerned for their safety. The foreign office also said that Australia's consulate-general in Bali had been closed after the blast. “We continue to receive reports that terrorists in the region are planning attacks against a range of targets, including places frequented by foreigners,” Australia's foreign affairs department said in its upgraded travel warning on Thursday. Downer was due to lead a delegation to Jakarta which included Australian Federal Police Commissioner Mick Keelty, opposition politicians, intelligence agents and police bomb experts. – Reuters I reckon Howard wanted to turn this event to his advantage during the debate - he tried to pull the whole "cut and run" thing on Latham again (that it'd encourage terrorists etc...). But then Latham turned it around brilliantly by saying that the best way to protect Australia is to have the troops and focus our attention on the Asia-pacific region.

  19. The republicans don't give a damn about the public. Let's see, there's the assualt weapons ban which expired even though 70% of the public supported it, there's the fact that they're stripping veterans of millions of dollars of funds while Bush claims to be a "war president", there's the thousands of environmental evils corporations are unleashing on the country uninvited. I could go on and on.
