I don't get it...I mean I don't have anything to test it on yet, but does the.dll file and the bioses go in the same directory? Everytime I try to boot a demo or something the program just dies.

I'd get a ps2 before an xbox. But roughly 1/2 the people here will agree with me, and 1/2 the people here will say buy an xbox, so I don't see what good this topic will do. Oh well, good luck choosing

I dislike this idea, for the same reasons as everyone else...however, if this does pan out, at least it'll kill the Phantom before its even released!

Perhaps the market is a little too overstretched at the moment. On the other hand, I'm retaining my belief that as the ps2 and the gamecube (and the GBA, for that matter) have been on the market for a fair while longer than the x-box, so these and the other sales figures are just reflecting the fact that more people own ps2s, gcs and gbas than x-boxes.

get a fish-tank or something and keep the ps2 in that, only opening the lid to change games (and keep a gas-mask or something near the tank) - the only problem would be the wires.

Well, it's all conjecture at one point, but from what I've read people are conjecturing that you'll get 3-4 hours only for watching movies, for playing games, they're estimating 17 or so.

Why? Just cause he didn't feel like going to work that day? I mean come on, be honest, we've all been tempted to call in a bomb threat to our schools/workplaces on some days!

Where in Canada do you live? Because if you live close enough, you could always pull a road trip down to the US and buy one? Just a suggestion...

Are you sure this story didn't come out of the overhyped Sega e3 announcement? It's just that that's the conclusion that most people here seemed to jump to when they announced their 'big event' too...

PC PS2 - which I won Also, an old SNES in my cupboard somewhere! Not many, I know, but I was never that into consoles (until I discovered emulation ), and my brother had a gameboy, a psx, and a ps2 before I won mine, so I wasn't missing out that much. I want to buy a dreamcast, but you can't seem to find one anywhere in Australia anymore. I'll buy an xbox if i see one pre-modded for <$100 (not very likely, I know, but I'm not exactly holding my breath in excitement anyway). Also, i may buy a psp once it becomes cheap enough (and people have figured out how to pirate it ).

My question...how do they expect that people will return the DVDs on time, or for that matter at all? Unless they're using the exploding DVDs we all had a giggle about a month or so ago.

I wonder how they feel about the dc getting emulated? Its not like they're getting any more money from it so I don't think they'd mind that much. I know that the main dude from Atari was quite happy to see emulators for old atari systems - but then again, we're talking about 20-year old systems there, rather than the 4- or 5- (or whatever) year old Dreamcast.

Sounds to me like nothing more than a marketing decision that will happen to have a positive effect on the gaming industry - WB doesn't care if we only have crappy games to play, they just care that if enough people criticize, say, enter the matrix for example, then some people will start to say, 'well, the game was crappy, I guess the movies must be crappy too'! And then they won't pay to see the movie. But then again, if that means less really crappy games get onto the market, then I suppose it's a good thing.

I don't think this is saying much...the ps2 has been on the market for heaps longer than the xbox, so its hardly surprising they're not selling as many any more - every man and his dog has one by now!

But think about how much more you can do with it...not just from a game-creating point of view, but also play movies, listen to music, etc.. etc.. etc... Let's just say this - I've never earned a hand-held before (not even a gameboy), I've never been tempted to buy one (except that I wanted a game gear), and even I want a PSP!
