  1. Have you guys seen the videos? The one of the BIOS screen, and the one playing sonic adventure? This emulator's looking pretty cool!
  2. I probably prefer 'kart' style games. Or playing 'cops and robbers' on some of the Need For Speed games. But my favourite racing game was made way back in the early 90's....it's called 'stunts' (otherwise known as 4D sports: driving'. It's an absolute classic - you can make your own track for a start, which makes it 9000% better than most modern racers already, but what's even better than that is that the peices you can make the track with include loop-the-loops, corkscrews, tunnels, jumps, bridges, and slaloms! I have never played another racing games with things like loops and corkscrews, therefore it is the best racing game ever made. You can't fault my logic. ()
  3. It's pretty cool, isn't it, only I don't really like it as much as the original though.
  4. /me slaps Gokuen. Happy to oblige, my good man! /me walks away.
  5. You should have given the guard a liverpool kiss (headbutt). Then they would have placed you in solitary. Man, I've seen too many movies!
  6. Where the hell do you fit in all your classes then? From 9AM to 10.10AM? I'm just kidding, we've got a whole lot of shops that sell food from about then to then, but what I meant was it would be good to have a period when there are no classes between, say, 12:30-1:30, every day.
  7. We're still getting alot of this on the news...especially because there are two Aussies in Guantanamo bay, that have been kept there for two years without being charged with anything (one of them has a wife and two kids!), and one of them, David Hicks, has been tortured as well, apparently, and his defence lawyer has found an American willing to testify, but the guy can't say anything until the Australian Government asks the American Government to let him talk, but of course seeing as our prime minister has his tongue buried three inches up Bush's....*cough*... he won't ask them. Edit: news update, the American gov't won't let Australian investigators see the detainees' cells, or release transcripts of talks between Australian officials and the detainees to the Australian Government, and surprise surprise, Australian officials haven't asked if the way the two men had been treated complies with the Geneva convention.
  8. The most memorable one for me is definitely 'Grabbag' (the Duke Nukem Theme) - I have 3 different versions of it on my computer, including one done by Megadeth! But also I'd have to say the music from the original 'metal gear solid'. It wasn't that great, but whenever I hear it, I remember the tenseness of playing the game for the first few times, and just how atmospheric that game was. Other really memorable vgms for me would be the music from s1e1 of DOOM, and the original SF2 title music. Edit: oh and also, there's one particular song from the 'monkey island' series that stuck with me - specifically, it's from the first game, when you are on-board the ghost-pirate ship. back when I still had a band, I wanted to cover it, because it's the best 'pirate-reggae' tune I've ever heard!
  9. I wish I had such easy classes in high school. I also wish we had a dedicated lunch period to take up a slot in the schedule. Yeah, one of those would be nice! Closest thing my uni has to a designated lunch period is that they usually give out a free meal on wednesdays from 12:30 - 1:30pm. edit: whoops, you were talking about High School! Yeah, we had a designated lunch period at my high school. Oh well.
  10. It sounds like sega's kind of getting f*cked on this deal....but still we will have to see how things go.
  11. I found this site that lists a whole bunch of archaic old laws that, while most of them aren't being practiced, are still technically 'in the books', so to speak. Some of them are really funny. Enjoy:
  12. Not really, cuz I don't believe in any religion. So therefore, backfired. That deserves a tough crap. There are too many factors that happen to an innocent being executed. All you have to do is say "Oops!" and work at improving whatever was the faulter. Where's the respect for the sanctity of human life?
  13. What if the accused was gay? Then it probably wouldn't matter if he were somebodys be'otch, and they dont spend so many hours in the cell, well it depends on what kind of crime and stuff you did, the life sentence guys are the ones that get real hell and the others it's probably not as bad. There's a BIG difference between homosexual sex and homosexual rape - even you should understand that.
  14. I think you guys are underrating the experience of going to jail - not that I've ever been in jail personally, but from what I've seen and heard, I'm certain that it would not be fun. They may have cable, but i bet they only get to watch tv for like one hour. Plus there's the fact that you can't move from your cell for hours and hours at a time, not to mention the fact that if you go to prison, you have to either kick the toughest guy there's ass the first day, or else become someone's biatch. Either way, not fun. Plus its already been said that executing someone costs as much or more as jailing them for life. And the fact that people are being sent home from death row in great numbers because of new forensics to help prove their innocence does NOT mean that everyone who gets sent to death row from now on are 100% sure to be guilty, N30Ghost. There are STILL people being framed, still people who were in the wrong place at the wrong time who couldn't afford to hire a decent lawyer, and there'll still be innocent men on death row at this very moment. For that reason alone the death penalty is not acceptable. I know prisons are overcrowded, but if you look at the people in jail, there are still going to be more black guys put in jail than white guys. That's because even in this day and age, the law favours rich, middle-upper class white people, so for that reason also the death penalty cannot be advocated. Until the law treats everybody equally, and until people have equal access to equally skilled lawyers regardless of how much money they have, such a severe punishment as the death penalty can only be seen for what it is, a twisted and unfair practice, which sets the wrong example for people anyway, because murdering a murderer is still murder, so people will think, 'if the state can do it, why the hell can't I?'
  15. No, the order goes 1)mice, 2)dolphins 3)humans. (That's a 'hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy' reference, in case anybody doesn't know)
  16. I don't know about you but I sure as hell ain't stupid. But considering your views on Iraq, you're sure as hell ignorant!
  17. I can't think of any. Interesting, that. I know a few Asian countries still have the death penalty (for ex. Thailand) but I don't think their governments are called democracies though. Edit; yeah I just checked - Thailand's a 'constitutional monarchy'.
  18. I voted no, if not because murdering a murderer makes you a hypocrite, if not because life in prison should be bad enough (I mean come on, imagine it, it'd be awful), then because a statistically significant amount of innocent people get sent to death row every year (trials aren't infallible) and they DEFINITELY don't deserve to die.
  19. Damn good point: I couldn't have thought of a better analogy to describe the situation myself.
  20. Happy being one day older (you age the same on your birthday than any other day)! Forgive me if that sounds pessimistic, but I'd say at our age birthdays cease to matter all that much.
  21. Pretty much...it's just a piece of plastic for you. Or, you can use it to pull off swap-disc booting or something like that, at least then you could get SOME use out of it.
  22. Important my ass let alone an actual debate. I might have to go out and buy some of y'all some Midol from the useless whining I've read. All this is, or any of the other topics related, are complete speculations of bullcrap. Haha! Okay, then don't read these threads. It's that simple. So the pictures of prisoner abuse and the beheading of a guy are complete speculations of bullcrap? The invasion of Iraq is complete speculation? The reasons behind the war are still debatable but they're not speculations of bullcrap. Why don't you bring a real valid argument to this table and then talk crap, till then just shut the flock up. ..besides, this is the first topic I've made that's actually gone for 12+ pages! It can't end now! I'm thinking of doing a new cartoon, but am impeded by the fact that I can't draw. What I want to do is have George Bush, John Howard and Tony Blair all riding a camel, and the camel is dragging a box behind him full to the brim of nukes, missiles, flamethrowers, etc.. etc... and they're riding the camel through the Middle Eastern desert, on the border of some country called 'hurtzomalia' or something. There'd be a sign on the border saying 'welcome to hurtzomalia, population: 3 goats' and Bush is saying to the others, 'they might have WMDs, we're going in.' This is a reference to the fact that international governments have now changed their tune so much now its clear that there are no huge stockpiles of WMDs to discover. Specifically its a reference to something Howard (our Prime Minister) said recently - he said that the coalition's commitment to the war on Iraq proves that the world 'will not tolerate actual or potential prolifferations of WMDs' - pretty much admitting that they were wrong in the first place - and then there's also the fact to consider that anyone could 'potentially' have WMDs, not to mention the fact that America had over 20,000 nukes after the ending of the Cold War. If there are any good cartoonists out there and they want to design that cartoon, that'd be great. If it matters, you'll get artistic credits for the cartoon too (I'll get writing credits tho).
  23. Dammit, all this time waiting patiently for Icarus, and now it looks like it'll be superceded before even a beta release! Oh well, this new emulator looks impressive, I just reckon 'icarus' sounds like a better name for an emulator than 'chanka' - but that's just my opinion.
  24. Cool...now what the hell is it? What's that blaxxun thing?
  25. The orders came from above though, that's the worst thing, and seeing as the people who gave those orders probably also ordered to set up the trial, I don't think we'll see much justice done here
