Well, pretty much all that I know about the Watergate scandal I learned from 'All the President's men', and I think I remember in that movie that the informant told them to call him deepthroat. But it was just a movie (although I'm pretty sure it was based on the facts pretty tightly), and I haven't seen it in years so I could be wrong. Anyway, you're right that we're in agreement on the main point - deepthroat was a cultural revolution in porn (pr0n?) or something like that.

good old. Cheech and Chong. What's chong in jail for - is it the obvious reason? Michael Chong is in jail for selling autographed drug paraphanalia over the internet. I never really liked the Cheech and Chong movies, they were somewhat funny but too many stupid people are like "they're the greatest movies on Earth dude! uuhh! let's smoke some more weed and become useless members of society." So that really ruined the experience for me. Dude, just because you smoke weed doesn't mean you are useless to society. Look at UC Berkeley, most of those katz smoke. I smoke a bit and I got a 1400 on my SAT!!! Maybe even more, if my new score comes in. Anon. If thats not proof that Wacky Tobacy is good for you, I don't know what is. I hope everyone knows its a stimulnte. I think weed's had a bad name for a century or so. If you guys haven't already seen grass, see it: that movie explains why weed is banned (all because some redneck cop wanted to keep mexicans out of the u.s.). Tests have proven that moderate exposure to marijuana will not damage your brain (there will be mental and physical effects, but even if you smoke every day, you'll be affected FAR LESS than if for example you drink everyday). Anyway, I know that we have to keep thing family friendly here so I won't go on - but let me just say everytime some athletes get banned from competing in a sport because THC is found in their blood, it is not fair: these drug tests are supposed to test for performance ENHANCING drugs! Anyone who can smoke weed then run a marathon is a hero in my eyes; in fact if anything, people testing positive to THC should get a nice little handicap!

Okay, we've got a topic called "what are you listening to" but this topic is about what your favourite genres of music are. And, more importantly, why? You should also give two or more examples, which should reflect your favourite style of your chosen genre. A suggested format is: name of genre (why I like it): examples - my list: 1. Da Funk! (and I mean *real* funk music, with real instruments, not that electronic doof doof crap. It has to have a catch bassline (preferably slap-bass), a solid guitar line, and really 'dancy' drumbeats). examples: George Clinton and Red Hot Chili Peppers. 2. Ska/Swing/Reggae (pretty much I love everything with a "two-tone" beat and catchy hornlines. These genres get my feet tapping more than any other type of music. I've loved reggae since before I was born, too): Examples - The Specials/Madness (ska), Cherry Poppin Daddies/Royal Crown Revue (swing) and Bob Marley/the Upsetters (reggae) 3. 70's Rock (Yeah, I know the solos were wanky, and they were often overproduced, but you just can't beat 70's rock/metal) examples: Blue Oyster Cult, Black Sabbath. 4. Prog Rock/Acid Jazz *only when it's good* (call it what you will, there was a trend in the 70's and 80's to make some of the weirdest music humanly possible to make. Alot of it was crap, but man some of it is amazing) examples: Herbie Hancock and the Headhunters, Godspeed you! Black emperor

Exactly! Those are names everyone should know. And Morgan Fairchild is quite famous too because of her infamous flick Deepthroat. That was a culture revolution back in the day. I mean, Bob Woodward and Carl Berstein named their informant Deepthroat because of it. I don't think Woodward and Bernstein chose the name "deepthroat" for their informant, I think it was their informant's choice of name.

Is that the feminine verb for computer? I can just picture antiwinner sitting in front of a computer with a tutu around the main box, and maybe pretty bows on the top left-and right of the screen!

I keep everything I've ever downloaded: i'm like the internet equivalent of a bag lady; wandering around the 'net with a giant shopping trolley. Everytime I need to free up space, I just burn crap to a DVD then delete it: bingo, my hard drive is approx. 4.7 gigs more free!

Hey, thanks for reminding me about that song - I'm dling it now. I've really liked that song ever since the first time I saw "dead man on campus" and I don't have to see that ad to turn me off it! I dunno about me though, I can think of one song that I like even though I hate the artist: "purple pills" by eminem. I know that's not exactly the topic of the question, but that's all I can think of right now

I'm assuming you mean stand-up comedian? Because my favourite comedy writer is also my favourite stand-up comedian, although he doesn't do much stand-up. It's Ben Elton. You should know who he is if you've ever seen the Young Ones, Blackadder, or the Thin Blue Line because he wrote or co-wrote each of those tv series, and he also occasionally guest-starred in the young ones. He's also written a lot of books, and most of them are among my favourite books. The man's a genius! But if you're talking more traditional stand-up, I'd have to say most of my list would come from the UK: Ross Noble, Bill Bailey, Billy Conolly, Eddie Izzard, Ed Byrne... We've (Australia) got a few good stand-up comics as well: there's Ahn Do, Dave Hughes, Karl Barren, Merrick and Rosso (okay they don't really do stand-up, but 95% of you won't even know who they are so nyeh)... Adam Spencer and Will Anderson used to do stand-up, and I'm going to sneak in flacco and the sandman, who do stand-up style stuff, although they assume the roles of characters when they do. Who cares, they're hilarious! Now for the US comedians, there's Bill Hicks (RIP), Dennis Leary, Chris Rock, Dave Chapelle, Stephen Wright, Robin Williams, George Carlin...that's probably about it. I've noticed that there aren't any female comedians on my list and there are few if any on the other replies either - why is it, do you think, that men rarely find female stand-up acts as funny as male acts? It's curious.

That's nothing. Okay, it's pretty bad, but I remember seeing an interview with some 'professor of television' or something like that, and the interviewer asked him, 'what's the worst concept for a reality tv show you've ever heard?' and he said, 'well, I'd have to say the littlest batchellor.' This show, apparently, was just like 'the batchellor', only the batchellor was a midget, and he was searching for a wife between 12 midget women! TALK about exploitation! That's just sick!

Funny story... I think I have seen the limit to being ALMOST naked at my HS the other day... This chick had on the THINNEST pants you could ever see, I mean, I could read that she was wearing a Fruit of the Loom brand thong!!! There is a funny piece on chicks dressing provacitavely on Dave Chappelle's HBO special "Killing Them Softly." Check it out. Anon. "Just because I dress this way does NOT make me a whore!" I have the video for that, it's great stuff. What's the next line? Something like "if you see a man on the street wearing a blue uniform, and you run over and ask him to help, you don't expect him to say, "just because I'm dressed this way, does NOT make me a police officer!" A classic!

I doubt it. Theyt either got one warning or were automatically banned after that...and... What the evil bump. well, actually jennyjennyjenny got 3 warnings then got banned, it's just that all the warnings were given over the course of about two days Did s/he? I remember only about 1-2 warnings. Well, I was talking about verbal warnings, because I wouldn't know about the official ones, but I remember (s)he was warned about typing in all caps, and then about flaming people, and then on the third offence (s)he was banned. So you see how thap applies here.

Amen to that!

I would like a giant, sprawling, cityscape where you can jump over the rooftops or fight in the alleyways. Either that or a huge field full of bamboo chutes like in one of the fight scenes in ninja scroll

That "depressing song" is called suicide is painless , and that had to be the theme song, because it was the opening song to the M*A*S*H movie, which came before the series, and is what the series was based on. The song fitted the movie much more because the movie is a very black comedy, unlike the show - the movie's on par with 'Catch 22' for the blackness of its comedy, and its depressing bits. I really liked the movie too, but i don't know what to think about that bit when they were 'curing' the guy who thought he might be gay though.

Axl? These are Riot.EXE's threads....and yes, a description would be nice and not just "Hot Question #". whoops, sorry axl and riot, my mind must have been elsewhere Its a series...thats why I keep calling it that...you know...consistency... Exactly. We need consistency. But we are KNOWN FOR OUR RANDOMNESS! That's exactly it. This consistence was completely random! Do you mean we're random about our concistency, or do you mean that we are consistently random?

I suppose you guys have heard of this. If not, check it out at http://www.redvsblue.com. It's a HILARIOUS net-series made entirely out of dubbed-over halo footage! It tells the story of two desperate and solitary (not to mention rambunctiously stupid) teams of soldiers left fighting a war that everyone else has forgot about. My friend just gave me the entire first series, and I've been busy downloading the second series all night! If you've seen it, what do you think of it? If not, go check it out!

Well, I decided to create a blog! Mainly as an outlet for ranting about whatever pisses me off. I've only got one post on there at the moment, and it's a rant about Australian politics, but I've snuck in a Bush reference for you guys (and I think you'll like it ), and anyway, keep checking back because who KNOWS what will end up there! I plan to create a haven of delirious, vehement ranting that puts http://maddox.xmission.com to shame! EDIT: I forgot to mention that the link's in my sig, or the address is http://randomguys.blogspot.com/
