Game Sequels You Would Like To See...
random guy replied to wacko_jacko's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Oh no, it's Away from an internet...komputer. AFAIK... Oh is that what the means? i thought it was some kind of ferternity or something. Alpha fraging alien in killera It means 'as far as I know', fools! Why would you need an acronym for 'Away From an Internet Komputer'? And if you did it would be 'AFAIC" anyway. You guys had better be kidding ...oh and 'Anon' means either 'anonymous' or something similar to 'until we meet again', depending on the context. -
How Many Mugen Characters Do You Have?
random guy replied to random guy's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
See, that's what I thought and then I just downloaded it anyway, and it works fine. It freezes occasionally, and sometimes the sound stops working, but other than that it is fine. Just download it and try it. But get the Windows Configurator as well as it is alot easier to configure it that way! -
I'm dissapointed in myself that I didn't get mugen earlier. I just didn't expect it to be so GOOD (plus I had XP so I didn't think it would work). I just got it a few days ago, and I have about 185 characters (plus a few that I don't use), and about 132 backdrops! It's getting hard to fit them all and the portrait into the screen! So how many characters do you have? I do have a question, now that I've lured you MUGEN fans in here; how do you add custom life-bars to the game using the Windows Configurator? MUGEN is awesome, the only thing I can think of that it could use but doesn't have is a tag-team option (in that you press a button to tag-select between characters)!
-
Can someone please hook me up with the Mugen XP patch? I can't download it from here for some reason, nor can I find it on any other site. I'm just now deciding to try mugen, what's the problem, is it dead now?

My favourite picture from engrish.com is this one: Winner of a very special contest! But then again, this one comes close: The cream with slutty powers!
-
Sorry, I had to stop listening, because as I found out (at least for bandwidth-starved me) that once you start downloading something the sound-quality goes really bad. Oh well, i'll keep listening after I watch this simpsons episode I'm downloading.

We sure should. Why hasn't any other game had mid-air recoveries? That was the coolest idea for a game ever. And small or anime-style 'super' jumps in a 3D game. There were alot of innovations in that game that really should have been adopted by gamemakers I think! Edit: And, I agree, that new uniform (I'm going to think of them as his 'away colours ') looks better!

Well, that still makes it a good deal.

Since Matrix Online Is Around The Corner.........
random guy replied to L.S.D's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
not me.. if there were no fee, maybe but still doubtful. the matrix just isn't all that anymore. if this game woulda came out before the 2 sequels it would be huge! but the last 2 movies and the last game have tainted the matrix licence. They shouldn't charge full-price for an on-line game and THEN expect you to pay a monthly fee. That's too much. They should either a)give the games away for free and charge you to play them or b)charge full-price and then give you unlimited (or at least a 100+) free hours of play for them. Who agrees with me? -
It's awesome anti, but this place needs more Rival Schools tributes: I've got Hinata in my sig, you've got Roberto as your avatar, but its still not enough to pay this awesome series the respect it deserves!
-
Dude, don't you remember that that dude was trying to sell Metal Slug alone (and not even MVS but AES) on e-bay for OVER $2,000!!?! I think you got a good deal there.

I'm listening, i'm listening; keep your pants on - I just got back from Uni.

My sentiments exactly. Is the emulation scene dying? it seems like this sort of thing is happening more and more later.
-
I don't think you can, but..I know a way to do that. And I had that idea a long time ago. Hence... http://www.geocities.com/mz1pw/emulforumsbroadcast5.gif Great, that would be so amazingly awesome! Surely, that would have to tip the scales! I mean, what other emulation site does/will(might?) have *it's own arcade *it's own webcomic *it's own flash-movie *it's own radio station AND *it's own call-in show!?! He he, we can even have a nightly (or weekly) emulation news segment, if someone like James (who seems to be in the know about these things, especially MAME) is willing to collaborate all the info he gathers.
-
Could you use this shoutcast technology to create an online version of a call-in show? That'd be so cool, you could have topics for discussion, like "Would you rather play the millionth Star Wars game or Sam & Max 2?" or "hot topic: what's the best arcade emulator?" So who's volunteering to be the next David Letterman (or will it be more like Jerry Springer)?
-
Can't you just put a disclaimer in the front page of the radio player saying you can't listen to the song unless you own the original CD (a-la certain websites we'd all know, although the message is for a different medium of entertainment )?

Religious Things That Make The World...
random guy replied to Wizard's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Different schools of mathematics have different theories. But right now its leaning more towards a finite universe. It's not proven which will be hard, but don't say it is proven. This string theory is also gaining a lot of momentum and could also possibly be right. And by logic, you should realize that a finite universe isn't proven by mathematics since there are different theories being worked out by math. When one theory remains, that will be the victor. Till then, it's all speculation. And this string theory stuff is very interesting and it would be awesome if it is true. Quantum mechanics is a beautiful thing. I have a test on quantum physics on Wednesday. It's going to suck... Yeah, but a theory is just that - a theory. Two thousand years ago everyone KNEW the earth was flat. A thousand years ago everyone KNEW the sun and all the planets revolved around the earth. The romans used lead piping to build their drainage systems - and it eventually turned everyone in Rome insane. Whenever I think of this fact, I can't help wondering what practices/beliefs/theories we hold now that will be viewed as fundamentally STUPID a thousand years from now (if the human race lasts that long - we're not going too hot at the moment! ) -

Your Thoughts On Banner/tower Ads
random guy replied to Alpha's topic in Suggestions Box [/feedback]
I think it's a shame, but necessary. This website is currently the biggest ad-free site I know of (ie with the most content), so I agree when people say we're desensitised to web-ads. Most people won't notice them after a while. Plus my combination of SpySweeper and NIS blocks most of the ads on the internet We'll all understand, that the money has to come from somewhere. Only thing though, are they going to be nice tasteful google-style text ads, or those annoying bastards that bounce around telling you pointless things like "your computer clock may be wrong"? -
Well, as far as post counts go, you joined here 23 days after me and have some 400 more posts than me. An impressive effort. Sure, kinda -my, but I'll forgive you if you don't make any more 'cosplay-esque' threads!

He he, I love the Chapelles show for humourous jokes about racism - like there was the sketch where this old blind guy was the leader of the KKK, and none of his family had the heart to tell him he was black! When people in the street called him the 'n-word' etc... he'd start piping up with them because he couldn't see them, so he thought they were talking about someone else! And then there was like the 'fly pimp squad' or whatever they were called, who would go back in time during the days of slavery to call white slave-owners 'crackers'. Back on topic, I was going to say, hey at least it wasn't a Mullet, but I think GriffinKlaw covered that! We had one of those standardised tests for the school too in yr 12, called the AST, and I swear the school didn't tell us that it didn't count personally; well that's not true but they put pressure on everyone doing the UAI (that's the university Access Inventory or some crap) by saying that all of the UAI scores are going to be scaled against the scores from the AST. But once I realised it didn't count personally, i didn't bother doing any revising or anything. Still, I reckon I 0wned most of it.
