My friend used to work at Red Rooster - I donno if you have one of those over in America but its a big fast food chain in Australia - and he used to tell us all kind of horror stories. But the one that stuck with me was that one of them dropped a chicken on the floor, and the MANAGER made him cook it anyway! This was the guy in charge, and yet he forced the staff to breach their own health codes (I'm guessing)!

Streetfighter 3 Third Strike

Do that move, steal his computer and then leak this super awesome ultra badass emulator to us. This ex-friend of yours needs to be kicked in the shins and the genitals. Yeah, but kick him in the shins first, because then he'll be like "ow this is the worst pain ever" and then you'll do the second one and he'll be all "I was wrong!" -
Dude, if you have a DVD burner, then you can just rip whole DVDs. Please note though that it is not possible to get a whole lot of crappy quality videos to fit on a DVD - because they have to be reincoded for DVD format even the worst-quality mpgs will work out HUGE (so that the capacity is less than a normal DVD would fit). But get a program to remove the macromedia encoding for DVDs and you can burn discs that work in any DVD player, despite region or type (even PS2s and our home theatre thingy which isn't supposed to play burned discs can play them).

Has anyone seen "Kurt and Courtney"? It's an excellent documentary about Kurt's "suicide". Apparently, Courtney Love was in discussions with a hitman (from another band) to kill Kurt, plus also if you look at the suicide note it looks like the last four lines - the only lines which mention suicide, were written by someone else. Plus apparently it would have been quite difficult to kill yourself with a shotgun, especially when you had 4 grams (or something rediculous)of heroin in your bloodstream - apparently it would be hard enough to even move your arm at that point. Now, I don't know if I believe the whole "suicide conspiracy" thing, but this movie sure makes some interesting points!

George W Bush....not A Goodie Two Shoes...
random guy replied to ForceX's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
It's quite simple. according to that form, George W Bush was born in 1976. It has a D.O.B which, stands for date of birth, dated 1976. George Bush was not born in 1976, therefore the picture is a fake. I know Bush HAS got a DUI against his name, but this wasn't the right arrest record. -
well, no-one's bidded so far, not surprisingly! $2,400! How many games could you buy for that!

Yes but if it is an iso then it probably couldn't be played compressed - you can't play psx games inside a zip file. Why the heck are you guys defending frost's claims all of a sudden, now we finally have proof that (s)he's lying? -

Isn't that cute. But It's Wrong! What about the "Broomhair Organisation for Optimal Tits and Ass attractivitY (BOOTAY)"? -
So there's no way to play a rom on an arcade board once it's been dumped? Couldn't you, for instance, flash the data to the chips the same way you can with GBA games? Probably not.

Yeah, thanks for the shpiel but I already covered that. It's called heritabilty. Biological and environmental factors such as diet, exercise, climate, psychological factors, etc. all have a bearing on a individual. Nice to see someone who knows psychology here. Today, April 5, 2004. 8:00 - I wake up and have 30 minutes to shower, eat, and drive to school. 8:36 - I'm 6 minutes late to class. 8:36 - 9:45 - We review for the Organic test. 9:45 - 10:30 - My first break. I am writing the Data Table for my organic lab journal and posting here. Well, yeah, but you didn't actually give any arguments, not everyone has an opinion on the nature-nuture debate, also they may not have a clue what the nature-nurture debate is. Also, I'd just come from a psych lecture the day I posted that so I was in the "psychology mindset", I just thought I'd think aloud about my thoughts on the matter. My day so far: 6.30: wake up check clock, groan, roll over. Wake up sporadically until 11:00 11:10 get out of bed 11:15-11:50 try to find clip from tv show my Pol. Comm. teacher wants to show at next lecture. 11:55 swear, say forget it and spend next 5 mins getting ready to go out 12:05 run to bus stop, bus is already at bus stop, run at it flailing arms in air and feeling like an idiot hoping it stops 12:06 bus stops 12:30 get to school, go to pol. comm. lecture, get aggrevated with stupid conservative-minded class members, and make a few enemies refuting their stupid, and to me at least offencive, arguments. 2:30 catch bus home. 3:00 get home, boot up computer and go to 1emulation.com 3:10 post in this topic 3:11 still posting in this topic.... oh wait, that's it!

Haha, that's where you've been caught out (I think). This is from System16.com So, that means that you'd need an iso, not a rom, to play the game (I'm pretty sure)! HA HA! -
jeez, the longest time someone's held that button is 12 days 16 hours 50 minutes! Some people have no life. I think I managed a whole 14 seconds until I got bored!

Well, no, because for one he wouldn't have played gta3 when he was between the ages of 1-6, which are the most crucial years for moral and emotional development, and also that whole "violence in video games promotes violence" isn't as impactful for me because the player is just a passive observer, and you are expecting violence and gruesomeness before you sit down and play. It would be much more psychologically damaging for a three year old to walk down the street and see a deranged gunman who aims the gun at her and then shoots someone right in front of her, than for her to play gta3 (still not a good idea though, keep young kids away from the super-violent games). The problem is, before the age of 6, children do not have a concrete set of morals. They basically just do what they are told, and the only motivation for avoiding behaviour is avoiding being punished. Another thing is young children have trouble distinguishing fantasy from reality. I have actually heard a really DISTURBING story about a 5-year-old who brought a gun to school and shot one of his classmates. When they grilled him about the event, he mentioned he was looking forward to seeing her in school the next day. He didn't even KNOW she was dead, you see, and the only thing to blame for that is a society that idolises guns, where kids get toy pistols and laserguns and water pistols to play with, kids who as yet have NO IDEA that when you shoot someone, its not like in the movies where the actors will be in the show next week playing a different character; when you shoot someone in real life they don't get up. Oh man, that's DEPRESSING .

George W Bush....not A Goodie Two Shoes...
random guy replied to ForceX's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
As true as it is that Bush used to be an alcoholic and a cocaine junkie, and was arrested for DUI, and as cool as it is that someone has bothered to do this, I'm afraid that the picture is a fake This is why: a - his address is a PO Box that can't be right, but also b - the d.o.b says he was born in 1976. Now unless repeated use of cocaine turns your hair white prematurely, and adds a whole lot of wrinkles, I don't think George W. was born in 1976. (plus theres that whole thing of Bush trying to get out of fighting the vietnam war, and according to this, he would have plopped out the year it ended.) Edit: I just noticed that the ticket is dated 9/4/76....that's before the perp's birthday is supposed to be. What would they have done, arrested him for DUI while he was still in the womb? -
Damn, looks like I missed the psychology discussion, but I have to add my two cents (don't bother reading this if you have no interest in psychology and are just here to find out if Fatal got laid): Genes aren't the be-all and end-all of human development. Therefore, they can't be used to predict behaviour: that'd be like saying that all parents who abuse the children are genetically programmed to be @#$holes, despite the fact that they themselves happened to have been abused as kids. Well if this is true, why do adopted kids who have been abused/kids who were abused by step-parents have a tendency to become child-abusers? In fact, I'd have to say that on my personal nature-nurture continuum, I view nurture as more important: and here is why = your genes are there from birth, so their major role to play is determining how you develop in the womb, BUT you are born into a world rich with experiences, some good some bad, but all of which (especially during your first few years) contribute to what kind of person you will become. And of course the problem with relying on genes for predicting behaviour is that it leads to all kinds of opportunities for "scientific racism". Here is what I mean: crime rates would be a lot higher in areas like Harlem, and all kinds of slum areas, which as we all know have a predominately black (or at least non-white) population. Now the genetecist who didn't believe in environmental factors would say that crime is a result of a genetic propensity for nastiness: ie assaulters and murderers have a genetic propensity for violence. Now, taking this to a next logical step, does that mean that blacks are more genetically predisposed to violence than whites are? OF COURSE NOT: that is a gross generalisation and is ignoring every environmental factor: namely, that slums are crap, alcohol and drug abuse is rampant in these areas, and that people who live in these areas are more likely to have experienced a nasty childhood, for instance having to witness violence before they have been desensitised, and so on and so on. THAT is why crime rates are higher in Harlem than in White-Collar Suburbia. That doesn't mean that genes are not important: twin studies where one twin has been separated from the other, and they have both led freakishly similar lives (in one example two twins living on other sides of the USA with no knowledge of the other twin BOTH became firemen) have shown us that genes are a contributing factor: but in my belief, genetics only increases the TENDENCY to do something, but for it to be done, the OPPORTUNITY must be there. For example, someone with "violent" genes may be more likely to murder a guy that has sex with his mother and drove his truck through his house, but without that kind of extreme provocation, he won't kill anybody, even with his genes.

It wasn't clear from that news: what exactly does capcom coin-op do apart from repair/install games? IE maybe capcom are gonna keep making arcade games (through Capcom USA/Capcom entertainment) and just stop selling them directly/ doing maintenance etc... I guess we're gonna have to wait and find out.

My Wireless Network Won't Stay Connected!
random guy replied to jeffkong's topic in Nerd's Chatter [/nerds]
Have you tried just waiting? Because with my wireless network, it drops off line occasionally (a little box pops up on top of the icon on the taskbar and says "signal strength: no signal, and occasionally there's an x through the icon and the box says "wireless connection unavailable". But if I just wait 5 seconds, it usually fixes itself. Edit: it sounds like my problem is the same as Gamecop's. It's annoying sometimes, but USUALLY fixes itself before any disruption occurs. -
