  1. Response: I was mainly joking/making a wild guess. The engine looks scalable, since the Wii is just above Xbox (not 360), given proper time, it can be released on Wii, since Taito Type X isn't really a heavy duty graphics processing machine like Sega's Linburgh. And as a nod to that, Type X runs on a ATi Radeon 9200+, and from guessing, since kit is confirmed to be $2000 USD (Game+Marquee+System), it's most likely being ran on at least a 9600-9800 type video card with maybe 256 to 512 MB of ram. Given that the Wii also runs on ATi type graphics chip, it would be easily portable, with just about the same amount or just as good graphic quality at 480p. Since Taito Type X is 720p natively. 360 would have an easier time porting because both use ATi type GPUs. Which greatly reduces the time of changing or removing the way the graphics work from one thing to another. Sega mentioned it was easier porting VF5 to PS3 because both use the same family of GPU. Why does it look better on the 360 when compared to the PS3 version? cuz teh 360 pwns ps3 in da butt.
  2. it's basically adjusting the power of the laser. google for instructions
  3. Joystiq reports: cool, N+ is one of the few games I've been interested in as far as live arcade goes. 800 points is a little high for a game thats free on pc though...
  4. hey wiz are you pretty active on ggpo? I always install the new client, play a few games then forget about it for awhile. I still hate the lobby/chat interface.
  5. I've never used xfire. I thought it was a voice thing like teamspeak. is it a friend list type app?
  6. hmmm, it would seem our shadowy leader has been unmasked!
  7. I don't really see MS going with a bluray player. they already got burned on the hd-dvd player. not to mention their own marketplace rentals and word on the street is netflix could be coming to xbox live soon. like I said, digital distribution is where it is at.
  8. two words. Pot Tweak. after good media, a pot tweak is the best thing you can do for a tempermental DC.
  9. I dunno why, I'm not no goth but I think she is hotter then fire.
  10. sweet, it looks like crackdown, with a more realistic look and maybe a bit of a horror / scifi story.
  11. Seriously, the ranks that they have are usually insane. If you're lucky you might find someone that doesn't choose Ken. out of the 10 matches I've had I haven't run across a ken player yet. I fought an SS rank yun who malled me pretty good... it seems most times I am on there are only 3 or 4 other players though. I wish I had live when this game first came out, I bet it woulda been hella fun. hopefully SFIIHD gets here soon and has a decent online community. mame and Kai is just to frustrating for me.
  12. rupees or I always liked nuyen from the 16bit shadowrun games/
  13. well bluray isn't sony exclusive. it is just what they backed. and they deserve a win after they lost vhs-beta wars back in the day. and they lost cd-minidisc after that. and memorystick-sd now. lol. one win out of 4!
  14. because it is all interconnected. we all want good software, but that relies on good hardware. and good hardware only comes from tough business competition.
  15. I still haven't really been able to get into turok. I am right after the first t-rex encounter. and I played a hugo player who was completely beast. on live it seems like a lot of chun li, yun and alex players. I am working on my dudley and ken.
  16. I don't see where you are going with the ps2 reference. it had the dreamcast and xbox to compete with. and like I said one hardware maker means stagnate hardware development. if the 360 was the only console in town this generation, there next upcoming machine would be nowhere as much a leap forward as if they had to worry about what sony and nintendo were up to. and hardware dictates how complex, innovative, and real are games are. if there is only one hardware platform we have to eat what ever they are serving with no complaints.
  17. I'm glad I stayed out of it. but I'm not convinced on bluray for movies either. Digital distribution is where we are heading.
  18. I have one word to describe what happens when one company dominates the market.. VISTA. if mac was more prolific imagine how much better vista would have had to be to compete. if only MS or Sony own the market there is no reason for the hardware to innovate itself. just like if Only ATI or Nvidia were in graphics there would be no reason for pushing the limits of graphics cards. you need competition to get change and innovation. both on the hardware and software levels. Imagine if all games were made by EA? Competition is GOOD. thats whats wrong with this softie world we live in now. we aren't teaching kids to be competitive, with all these trophies for participation and no losers little leagues.
  19. I'm no good with the slow grapple guys. or charge move guys. the only people left playing street fighter on live are the really good ones.
  20. Bioshock held my attention through one and a half playthroughs. and thats a tough thing to do. I've been playing the hell out of Street Fighter III 3rd strike. just beat the game with every character to unlock all the colors, sys directions and extra options. and getting pwnd by sharks on live. my record on live is 0-10
  21. wow I didn't expect you went to Y&T, Van Halen, Dokken and Van Halen concerts! Do you still like these bands? not really. I still like early DIO, Van Halen and Motley Crue. (basically before "DR. Feelgood") but I really can't remember what Y&T or Dokken sang...... lol I know one of em sang "mean streak"
  22. Jumper. it was better then I expected. pretty entertaining once it got going...
  23. wrong forum. but are you playing on an emulator or flashcard?
  24. I could compile quite a list. way to many small time bands to list. but here are some of the top of my head. DIO Y&T Dokken (these 3 were my fist concert, I was 8 I think) Chuck Berry Little Richard Social Distortion X like 14 Tiger Army x2 Nekromantiks x3 Horrorpops x2 The Distillers Rancid dave Merit & the disasters Mike V & the rats Junior Brown x2 SonVolt Brian Setzer Orchestra x4 Lee Rocker x2 Stray Cats Link Wray Dwight Yoakum Graceland Mafia Manic Hispanic x2 Cadillac Tramps Rocket from the crypt Death on Wednesday x3 Hotrod Lincoln Dropkick Murphys Turbo ACs Devil Doll Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash Big Audio Dynamite The wallflowers Dick Dale Flogging Molly Reverend Horton Heat x4 Big Sandy x2 The paladins Royal Crown Revue The Living End Blazing Haley Metallica (late 90's I was around 17 or so) Motley Crue (shout at the devil era I was 8 or 9) Dave era Van Halen (10 or 11 me thinks) way more little bands that opened for some of the above and more bigger names I can't remember at 5 in the morning I usually hit a festival called hootenanny every summer. usually 20 something bands and a classic car show. all day get drunk, get sunburned, maybe a little heat exhaustion... good times. edit: keep thinking of other bands. added how many times I've seen some bands.
