where the fuck did that come from?

3 years of modded 360 goodness has cost me 350 for the console, modded my self. 100 for 2 years of live. about 80 bucks a year on discs. thats it. just over 500 bucks to play just about every game that's come out in the last 4 years. extra controllers, wifi dongles, remotes, headsets, blah blah are secondary, I don't count that as cost of owning a console. hell, Live is pretty secondary IMO. 2 years of live and I prolly only played about 40 hours of multiplayer games. It's just not appealing to me.

that was the only way you could beat some of those NES games. But entering those arcane codes by d-pad.... I don't miss that. haha.

I finally got around to testing Tversity with a banned console and it works fine. so media streaming and Divx support is no problem.

Finished Assassins Creed II. I still have a crap load of feathers to find Dunno if I am gonna go through all that or not. Played a little Left 4 Dead II but I couldn't get into it. Just doesn't have the same magic as the first one.

At one point or another I've owned everything since the Master system with the exeptions of NeoGeo, 3DO and Jaguar. But I don't have any of them anymore. There is no point in owning anything that is well emulated. hell I could play snes on my phone. and I am with Vince, the Saturn has a special place in my memories. I dunno why either. other then the fighting games there really wan't much going on that I was into.

first of all you won't get anywhere near what Fios claims. the internet as a whole doesn't run that fast. 15mbps is fine. I usually get less then that. and never have connection or speed problems. also I do not trust Verizon to not cap at some point. I used to have thier evdo card for my laptop. 'Unlimited' to them meant 5gb a month. for 50 bucks. with a mean ass 56k speed throttle when you went over. anyways even uncapped and unnthrottled I don't see 20mbps being worth 60 or 70 bucks. I think it's got to be your router. have you tried changing the broadcast channel on it? you said it works fine when you plug the xbox directly into the modem right? if so there is nothing wrong with your service provider. perhaps there is just a lot already going on in that frequency range in your house. I seem to remember when the pre-N stuff came out alot of people complaining about getting dropped and knocked of the network often. I just use a Linksys g that treats me right. strong signal throughout the house. I got it for like 50 bucks at wally world. the only bad thing is there are no win7 drivers so I have to use genarics.

I love the xbox mod scene. such smart well spoken devs, who have each other's backs and work together to keep the ol' xbox alive. Xbox devs always have such clear and concise posts that are easy to understand. Xbox devs spread love and cheer on any forum they grace with thier presence. Cheeto stained fingers flying across the keyboard, checking spelling and punctuation. and never a harsh word for a fellow brother.

I don't play anything on hard. I'm not trying to challenge my self or grow a bigger e-penis or give my self a stroke. I am trying to relax. and if that means dumb ass enemies then so be it I've got enough stress and challenge in real life. I wish there were difficulty settings for life. My shit is stuck on 'expert' :-\

well you know how vocal I was about hating the first one. I'd say if you liked the first one you will love the second. I've got modern warfare 2 and left4dead2 just sitting collecting e-dust cuz I am really liking ACII. I'm not good at the whole 'review' thing. giving scores and grades. here is what I can say. It controls pretty much just as the first one, maybe some new combat moves I can't remember. No flags, but there are other collectables, 100 eagle feathers, 22 weapons, 4 or 5 sets of armor, 30 something paintings, I dunno how many glyphs that have puzzles when you find them. those numbers are just estimates, I can't remember exactly. more ways to distract guards. smoke bombs, send some hoes over to flirt with them, send mercs to fight them, ect. looks great. Enzio isn't a little bitch like Altair. no stupid missions like 'I will give you the information if you can beat me in a race' or 'Collect 20 flags in one minute and I'll tell you what you want to know'

well I'd say it's more varied. it's not like the first one where you have to do 3 of 5 or 6 activities to get to the next target. there is no eavesdropping, or any thing like that. as far as side missions, it's mostly deliver a message in the time limit, or beat up a certain guy. I've been playing for about 15 hours and I feel like I am about halfway through the story. but I am taking some time to explore, get all the viewpoints and collecting money to upgrade your base town. there is lots of stuff to collect, so it could keep you busy for a while.

no you should be fine. you can only get banned and HDD locked connected to live, the console itself can't lock the hdd down while disconnected. Hold out for the new firmware that is coming out soon. supposedly the developers of the newest update have had quite a few consoles running on live through out the ban wave untouched. I personally think that this banwave has nothing to do with firmware or even bad rips. (maybe a little to do with bad rips) I think they were looking at prerelease play.

I'm pleasently surprised that I am still having fun with Assassin's Creed II. So much so that I haven't even bothered unzipping Left4Dead2 yet.
