Why the long face?

I asked a few other people that post at other forums why they do not post here, they said it's either "to dead" "boring topics" "no one posts about anything interesting" and such... What can we do to rectify the situation? I think having women on board really helps, breathes new life into a male dominated nerd fest and adds a lot of different view points to the forum. But that can only go so far, the emulation scene is at an all time low, the site seems to basic/censored from what I have herd to really entice someone to post often and become a regular member.
