So you want to legalize something that would not benefit anyone health wise but for money gain? That's what is wrong with this country. Nobody cares about other people..just their wallets. Don't take that offensively bro 'cause I like ya but I don't think that kind of moneywise attitude will work out for everybody. Then again, I can't fault you for thinking that way because nobody cares about us anyway..so this reply is pointless haha I understand you had a horrible experience, hell I had a horrible experience with an alcoholic father, but they aren't gonna make blue ribbon illegal anytime soon. I don't agree with you that weed is a gateway drug or any more harmful then legal and heavily taxed cigarettes and alcohol. the state of California is in a hell of a debt, they raised our sales tax from 7.75 to 9.25%, my car registration was 70 bucks last year and this year it is 125 bucks, according to the current plan my car registration will double again next year. cigarettes went from 3.50 to 5 bucks OVERNIGHT. legalized and taxed Marijuana would inject MASSIVE amounts of money into the Treasury, stimulate the economy and push local ganja slingers out of business. I'm not too far above the poverty line with a large family. I have to think money wise ALL THE TYME. I understand your need for financial stability. WE ALL NEED IT FOR SURE! I myself am living in a large household with two people who have disabilities but no assistance which we're fighting for as you read this. It's only a one income household and we are fighting tooth and nail to get help. I live in Florida so everywhere I look, I'm seeing anyone latino or african american get away with anything to get free money. I see the injustice all around but I don't agree that we should promote a drug that is harmful (if you do all research and put biased opinons aside) just for financial gain. My aunt lives in Cali, I'm fully aware of what's going on over there. It's horrible but it's not going to get better even if they legalize it. It's spreading all over the country. There's no stopping it. We're all riding it but in the meantime, I'm hearing "Legalize pot and prostitution!". Yeah..kill more brain cells, spread more STD's and increase abortion. Is that really worth having the small swell in our wallets and in return, have children be subject to that kind of world? Just some extra info, the death rate in this country has increased while the birth rate is at an all time low. Would we really want these "stupid" people to kill us smarties off? We should seek more intelligent alternatives and not pollute the brains of the next generation that will eventually take care of us...maybe. One more thing, I know a LOT of people that are examples of why pot isn't a great thing. Aside from my father, I have quite a few friends who became so chemically dependent on that stuff that they cannot even function through the day without it. They have to smoke a blunt before going to work or school. It's a constant pick-me-up for them like meth was for me. People like my friends totally want to legalize it and I understand why. They have a chemical imbalance. But instead of going to a doctor and getting the right medicinal needs, they take the easy way as I did. It was a gateway for me because my body is different. It hardly gave me any effects so I went to something that worked. My cousin and a few other people I know had done the same thing. Sometimes it works on people, some people just like to get high and some people legitimately have good side effects mentally but it should never be used for pleasure or dependency. Same goes with cigarettes. I'm a smoker and I think cigs should be illegal. It'll help me quit ahhaha But I digress. Some things we have to agree to disagree on.

Pssst, it's just as bad. No additive chemicals, but the tar levels are astronomical compared to tobacco, and despite what every pothead say's as a feel-good excuse, YES it does kill brain cells and make people "stupid". Does that mean you shouldn't do it? Not saying that, just realize that no little excuse made up, or pretending proving facts don't exist doesn't make it any better. I see the abuse of weed on a daily basis. Most people who smoke it just want to smoke it. On the other hand, I have seen MANY MANY people who are massively addicted to it. It was the cause of most abuse within my family. If weed wasn't in the house before groceries, you got a fist in the face. As long as the head honcho was stoned of his ass we had peace. There are chemicals that can be harmful in marijuana. THC for example, is a very potent chemical compared to other psychoactive drugs. One miligram in your vein and it can produce some serious mental and psychological effects. People don't really see it as a big deal. But when you notice how people use it as a crutch instead of facing their problems, it becomes a big deal. I hate the smell of it, when I tried smoking it, it made me puke and stupid. Everyone is different. Pot didn't do anything for me so I tried some harder stuff that could have killed me. Fortunatley, I got out of it but some people don't. Pot can lead to other drugs whether you believe that or not, that's your perogative but if it doesn't work for some people, they're going to assume other drugs are harmless and do them. And you know what happens when people go down that road. So yes: Marijuana is a gateway drug, Marijuana effects the brain, Marijuana is just as dangerous as any other drug. As for legalizing it, marijuana should be used to cancer patients only. It helps the chemo process easier.

Hmmm like FFXII???? Will you EVER beat it? Anyway, I've been playing Valkyrie Profile Covenant of the Plume. Its Tactics meets VP. It's alright... nothing special. Makes me want to play VP2 again. hahahah! In fact sir, I had recently completed the game. It took me long enough! It just wasn't appealing enough for me like the ones in the past. I'm thinking about play FFVIII again soon...I've beaten it like 4 times but oh well.

Unexplained things you have seen or heard of
Hera replied to Krosigrim's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
It took me a few days but I was able to finally read all the stories on this thread haha. I know it's been a while but I thought I would share some of my experiences with everyone. (I have quite a few) I grew up in my old home until I was 18 years old. I lived in an abusive environment...I mean a serious dysfunctional family. Many random nights, I would hear footsteps down the hallway and the sound of glass breaking but not finding any evidence of broken glass. Just weird happenings growing up. I would tell my mom about it but it was never really believed. Kids have an active imagination you know? There is one night that I will never forget. I was sleeping in my bed soundly. I just opened my eyes for no reason. It wasn't like a sudden jolt from a nightmare or anything, I just woke up. I wasn't thinking and just walked to my window and looked through the blinds. I had a large front yard with multiple citrus trees and under the grapefruit tree by my window, I saw clearly two white figures. One was tall and the other was a bit shorter. About shoulder height of the first one. I really couldn't breath I was so scared. I ran out of my room down the hallway (my mom slept in the living room..couldn't be near my dad) and woke her up. She didn't believe me and thought I was just dreaming because I DID have a problem with sleepwalking. She let me sleep in there with her and I fell asleep to Johnny Carson haha. As I got older, I started asking my mother more about angels, demons, ghosts etc. and we would look up information ourselves. We had taken into consideration that demonic influences can occur when there's a negative atmosphere and boy did my dad give us a negative atmosphere! There was much anger and hostility in that home. I was always taught the basic fundamentals of Christianity but unfortunately at that time, I didn't appreciate God nor understood his motives so I basically did my own thing and went into the dark stuff. I ended up trying out the whole Wicca deal. There is a wiccan shop in a town called Winter Haven here (which isn't far from my town) and my friend was good friends with the owner who was a "priestess". She bought an "authentic" quiji board and we decided to dabble around with it at her place. I wasn't really into it. I knew of too many people playing around trying to scare everyone else by obviously moving the "eye" around. I went along with it anyway while she asked typical questions like "when will I get married? when will I die?" etc...she asked one more question and that was to speak to her grandmother. It only went to the letter "P" and she asked me if I did that. I just laughed and was like "No. I'm done." right when I said that, we heard this noise that kind of sounded like a train and then it got louder and louder and it sounded like it was coming from her mirror. It was so loud and I started to feel really really sick. My friend ran into her bathroom and started puking and I just threw the board across the room and started praying. It was the dumbest thing I have ever done. I would NEVER advise anyone to mess with those things. Even if it was with one of those cheap-o glow in the dark ones from Wal-Mart. To this day, I don't know what the "P" stood for but I will not even attempt to try to find out. There was another occasion a couple years later. A few of my friends and myself had our own little teenage paranormal investigation team There was a house that was isolated in an orange grove and there were stories of a man killing his family there and while it being abandoned, anyone could drive through there and still see a kitchen light on. I always thought it was just something electrical until we actually went there. When we went inside (yes we were trespassing haha), everything was still there. Furniture, clothes, dirty dishes etc. but none of the switches for the lights worked. My friend decided to take the bulb out of the kitchen and we headed into the living room. I heard my ex bf's younger brother scream and he ran out of the house and started puking. He had stepped on a dead cat. We went into the room he was in and it was OBVIOUSLY visited by devil worshipers. You can guess what happened to the cat. We rushed out of there and we passed the kitchen only to notice that that the light was back on...with no bulb. It was the weirdest thing I had ever seen. I was like "Let's get out of here right now. This is crazy." A few weeks later, there was an article in the paper stating that the house had burned down and took 2 acres of the grove with it. Now, anyone would think it was some wiring issue but I can't get anyone to explain how it could shine like there was a bulb in it if it was taken out? It was an odd experience. Now back to the old house I was living in. I lived on a 3 acre lot off a lake. My grandfather had bought the house for my mom and as an escape for him, he had built a cabin in the backyard. We would usually rent it out to my cousins who were just getting out in the world. It was cheap, nice size and in a convenient location. A busy road followed the whole east side of the lake so naturally we would get lots of semi trucks going through. One of my cousins decided to have some seance. I didn't participate given the last time I messed with that crap. I just stood at the sliding glass door. I wanted to leave but my cousin begged me to stay in case something happened. Like what could I do? Anyway, they started doing their thing. The T.V. came on and it was all static, barely getting a reception (she didn't have cable. Just rabbit ears. She could only get like 4 channels). Every now and then, you could see frames of pornography. She was freaking out and I was giving her the I-told-you-so look and the guy who was doing it started laughing and started talking crazy. All the lights started flicking on and off and I said "See ya!" and ran up to my house. The next day, she had my aunt come over with a priest to bless the cabin. I had mentioned the trucks because sometimes if I were to be listening to the radio, I could pick up on their conversations on their CBs but when I asked my uncle and my husband (who are drivers)years later, they told me there would have been no way I could have picked up a reception on what they would have. Besides, why would they have porn on tv while driving? It didn't make sense but I at least tried to look at alternatives. In my new place, I've been having feelings of being watched. I've had my shoulder bumped while sitting by myself. A few doors have opened and closed. Nothing has happened in the last month because we've been praying hard and not obsessing on whatever it could be. But it's still intriguing and scary at the same time. -
I really hope that works out for ya

I don't know much about the Navy but I have SEVERAL family members and friends that are in the Air Force. They have the BEST benefits out of all the military branches. You can look that up yourself if you don't want to take my word for it. They take better care of their guys. I had one friend in the Navy..he had a dishonorary discharge over something he had a right to stand up about. It was over something medical but I won't get into it. I'll just say after hearing about his experience, I wouldn't put my life in the hands of the Navy.

Guys, I'm looking for a really awesome creation replicating the characters Harlequin & Rogue for a tattoo. I've looked up some sweet looking photos but I don't get the feeling of pure originality. If any of you talented folks would like to sketch me up something interesting, I'm willing to throw a few cents your way.

[03/28/2009] Assassin's Creed
Hera replied to Devia Eleven's topic in 1Emulation.com Reviews [/reviews]
The concept and storyline was pretty awesome but I do have to agree that I would get pretty bored after like an hour and a half. It took me forever to beat it...was just too much blah-ness from time to time. I'm a little iffy about the sequel though. -
teehee...ever since I beat RE 5, I decided to start the whole saga over. I'm back to RE 1 and flip-flopping between that and Code: Veronica X. Not to mention the other rpgs I'm trying to complete on different game systems.

Agreed! -
Is this medication prescribed by doctors or can you get it anywhere? I am serious about quitting. I want to get healthier...I have been taking care of my mother who isn't doing very well. Not sure how long she'll be here but most of her problems boil down to smoking for so many years. She's only 45 and I consider that as still being young with more life to live.

That's a great question. My cousin asked me why he couldn't get it to work and I was completely clueless. Anybody know?
