Monster cables for anything except analog connections is completely unnecessary and even with analog, you won't notice much difference between Monster Cables and Nexxtech's cables (which are 1/2 the price btw) It means that the signal is rated up to 1080p. So, yes, anything below that will work.

There are no such thing as DC self-boot ROMs. Dreamcast games are ISOs. Self-boot means that it runs on a console. Emulators generally will run games self-boot or not. Conversely it was probably my best decision. Not so much for tha games as such, but a quick soft mod + xbmc + emulators galore + networked to pc = I feel the same. It was crap as a game machine, but as an Emulation/Multimedia machine, it's top-notch! The only console this time around that's so home brew friendly is the PSP (and the PS3 to a degree), and I'm horribly uninterested in anything Sony.
