  1. Hey Mooney, you should make a thread with DS links in it. You know, links to every bit of homebrew, emulators, news, and general information. I'm sure you've got a metric ton of bookmarks
  2. Just ordered the R4 from ModMyDS.com ($49.99) and a 2GB Sandisk Micro SD (with SD adapter) for $21.99 off of Amazon.com. So all and all about $80 total (including shipping) for the R4 and a 2 GB stick, I'm pretty happy Hopefully it all gets here in 3-4 days
  3. He's asking if there are emulators for other systems on the ds as well.
  4. I honestly don't like this "pay for preview" stuff going on with this and Pj64. It sounds very shady to me.
  5. solder a pin or two, it should keep it down fairly well with minimal work.
  6. Do you get referral cash? I'll definitely buy from there if so. ^^
  7. Quotes are broken for me, apparently ^^ I know all flashcarts (for ds) have ds rom ability, I mean making backups of my legit carts. I honestly can live without this as I'm sure these roms are available somewhere. I would really like a slot-1 device, and later a slot-2 one, thanks for that Rein link, I'll save that for sure. I think I'll get a slot-2 later one :S I think mini/microSD are the ones I'd rather use. I really like the looks of the M3 Simply / R4DS, I think I may go with one of those (and get a slot 2 dev. later). They are both $44.99 on Divineo. Are there any differences at all? Better company/support maybe for one? That'd be cool! Fixed quote problem - R
  8. I hate to resurrect an old thread, but I've recently come into some funds and I'd like to get myself a flash card. What I absolutely need are: DS backup ability (I would hate to have to switch back and forth between my actual carts and a flash) Save ability (proper saving, without patching of NDS games (and extraction of the save area of games I own). GBA compatibility (good gba homebrew scene ) Expandable memory -- SD cards or something that I can swap in/out read/write Affordable (I don't want to spend more than $50USD on just the cart, and don't want a SD card included [at a premium]) I suppose that I can get a single-slot solution for NDS and another card for GBA later. Now that these single-slot solutions are more readily available, what cards are the best (according to my reqs)? TIA! *edit* Thinking about this one: http://www.divineo.com/cgi-bin/div-us/dd-ds-simply
  9. I remember hearing something about a version of duck hunt where you could shoot that damn dog when he was laughing. ^^ Oh, and that Duke Nukem Forever would be out before Christmas of 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and ...
  10. I thought 100% backwards compatibility (a slap in the face to M$, but causes laughter at Ninty HQ), and the Six-Axis were major marketing points for the PS3... So now we're going to focus solely on the Cell? They really don't care about actually selling consoles, do they?
  11. Believe it or not, yes. FBA now supports Sega Genesis/Megadrive. Kev from the FBA team released his source (a port of cgfm's Genesis Plus) and it works quite well but no sound. ^^
  12. Check No check Check, check (though this is fairly recent) I'm only a little fat... no check? I looove sports, I live for tennis No check No check, no check, no check My God, I hope no check ^^ I'm a computer geek for sure, straight up geek? nope.
  13. if it's slow, you need to upgrade your pc or buy an actual dreamcast.
  14. Some new CPS-2 games were added last MAME; pretty sweet if you ask me. This has also allowed me to almost finish a project I'm working on. I'd like to release soon-ish, but with me, soon-ish could mean a year or two. lol On a side note, I just started a new job, so busy busy for a while ^^
  15. Automatic overclocking was removed. Overclocking is still there. It was removed because it causes some games to randomly reset.
  16. Tomorrow, next week, next month, next year, who knows. Losing interest in something and moving on to the next thing is just part of life.

  20. I'm waiting patiently for her to move back into the trailer park ^^
  21. Yes that's correct. But my understanding is that if your Xbox is set to widescreen then HD modes should work fine. I'll look into those other issues. As for the question of CPS2 decryption. I'll give it a go though I suspect memory will be the biggest obstacle there. I wouldn't bother with adding CPS2 decryption, not so much the memory problem, but because of the speed. It will take quite a while to decrypt. However, if you do, I would suggest making it save a .xor to the hdd on the first run. While this will take up some hdd space, it will greatly reduce load times after the first load.

    royalcdc

    I started looking at Royal Card (Slovakia, encrypted) on the funworld.c driver in mame. It has a preliminary status due to encryption. Basically I started working by comparing it to the non-encrypted Royal Card (Austria, set 1). I was able to figure out how half of the bits affect the other bits: Dec->Enc 00 -> 22 01 -> 23 02 -> 02 03 -> 03 04 -> 20 05 -> 21 06 -> 00 07 -> 01 08 -> 2a 09 -> 2b 0a -> 0a 0b -> 0b 0c -> 28 0d -> 29 0e -> 08 0f -> 09 this can be worked out, simply enough, as: if (~a & 0x02) b ^= 0x22; if ( a & 0x04) b ^= 0x06; I still need to figure out how the first four bits of the opcodes, but this is proving fairly difficult since the encrypted version will not match the non-encrypted version once it has been decrypted.
