Nice to hear some news from this promising emulator. It has been a while ^^
-
I was tapping phones long before it was popular.
-
That's very strange, I've never heard of that happening with FBA. To be honest, there's nothing new in this version that should cause something like that to happen. (really there are minimal differences between this and the 0.2.95.23)
-
Did you try a fresh directory? also unicode or ascii? and what OS are you using?
-
It requires an extended bios set (different than MAME's).
That's probably what the problem was. If you need anything FBA related my forums are a decent place to go http://neosource.1emulation.com/forums/

So, what does this mean for FBA? No new releases are promised in the future. The FBA Team seems to have disbanded a while back and we all seem to be doing different things now. I caught the emulation bug again at the back end of last year and since FBA was rather out of date I have decided to release this update. New releases may follow depending how long the bug lasts....
Thanks to kof2112 for the news!

Actually I know that SF3 is a fake becuause it was never done
That's not true at all. Street Fighter 3 had 3 versions that were released in the arcade (and dreamcast and ps2 iirc):
Street Fighter III : New Generation
Street Fighter III 2nd Impact : Giant Attack
Street Fighter III 3rd Strike : Fight for the Future
It doesn't work in MAME because the games are encrypted (scrambled) and the way to decrypt (unscramble) them is unknown.

Hopefully every CPS2 rom will have to be updated soon (to remove xors), but most likely not. <_>
On a separate note, nice to see Thunder Heroes, this should drop right into FBA

Greenest Christmas I can remember here in Michigan. Lots of rain though
-
Clothes, money, Best Buy gift card, and a DVD (Anger management [which will probably be returned soooon]), and to see my family.

Just let me know gogo
I have hsf2 added and the rumble code works quite well now -- 32 slots for rumble addresses, 8 per player, it can easily be extended to more. I've shortened the rumble load code, substantially, and implemented it in a much cleaner way (it works on all 68k-based systems without a custom implementation for all of them).

im in ur mars unleashing my greenhouse gasses

what do you mean PCB dumps? games ripped from the cabinet board?
Normal MVS games are on carts like NES or N64, but some more recent (Metal Slug 5, SVC, and KOF2003 only afaik) are on single pcb boards. They're basically the MVS machine + cartridge on one board.
Games ripped from arcade boards that weren't Neo-Geo MVS boards. I know that at least SNK Vs. Capcom: Chaos, King of Fighters 2003Dumped is the word, not ripped.
samurai Shodown V SpecialNope. MVS, AES, AES revision.
They are always in japanese, and you can't change the region like you can with the MVS games. Also no. You can certainly change the region as easily as the mvs (replace the bios).
It's much easier to just go into the setup menu (of the bios) and change the language.
And every game I know of for Neo-Geo has AES mode code in them. Some of them need a small hack of the program to enable it. Some games have an incomplete/buggy AES mode kof2001 (set 1) and Riding Hero, for example.

Nice. Hopefully this sees a source release at some point.
Anyone test this yet?

Worst game of all time is probably E.T. on Atari. Superman 64 may be horrible, but it still isn't the worst game ever.
Having several million copies buried in the desert certainly helps verify this claim.
Though I would have to say street fighter - the movie - the game is certainly on the top of my list of absolute crap games.
-
Xbox doesn't have a working emulater. The only one of the current gen systems that have working emulaters is Ps2, and even then the games are not playable.
Not true. Gamecube does also (several, in fact).
Xbox has 2 emulators, and they are both very very incompatible (run 1 or 2 games)

One of the device drivers on your pc is screwed up. I'd suggest uninstalling any devices you don't need atm and figure out which is the problem.

having actually played the wii (excite truck) and the ps3 (??), i still have to say that i like the wii much better. the ps3 really didnt impress me much graphically (though it may have just been the game), but i honestly think i saw better graphics on the xb360. the graphics on the wii are certainly sub-par for being next-gen, but nintendo has never claimed that the wii was next-gen, but rather something else entirely. excite truck was a lot of fun to play, but hard to get the hang of, i didnt know how to go forward at first, then i figured it out, and then i got the tilt on the wiimote, but it was too touchy (i couldnt adjust it, so i was s.o.l.). i really wish theyd put wii sports in that particular kiosk. as for the ps3 game, i didnt catch the name on it, but it was a dirt bike game with a lot of jumping of ramps and crashing into things. the blur effect was more irritating and the environments were very boring and uninteresting. the texture effects were very nice, and 3d models were very high in poly count, but still not like anything i have seen on the 360 thus far. also, the controller on the ps3, i dont think this was the sixway (or whatever it is called), but the L2 and R2 triggers have a small lip on the bottom of them to make them easier on the fingers, it was weird at first, but quickly became the norm.
ps. sorry for the lack of caps, but using a busted keyboard atm.

looking at the mame source, i assume this ram chip is bad.
AM_RANGE(0xa000, 0xa0ff) AM_MIRROR(0x1f00) AM_RAM AM_BASE(&spriteram) AM_SIZE(&spriteram_size)
you may want to go the the mame.net forums and ask this, they always seem to be very helpful to someone who resurrects a dead machine. (just ask nicely)

Quick q... Why doesn't Olaf have news-posting priv's?
