My first MAME arcade cabinet project using an xbox
Mega Man (?) replied to Californiadad's topic in Arcade Cabs / Controllers
Thanks for the info RedCaps! Yes mine is an original one... It is in practically mint condition, so I don't really plan on permanently changing it. I want to built a new control panel, and then just interchange them. So I need, 1. Controller Adapter/ps2 cable 2. J-Pac 3. AV/speaker to j-pac connector. (how would my speaker connect?) And... how is the method modified if I want to add a new control panel with more buttons? ( I am not worried about 4 player right yet, I will make a 2 player control panel with buttons that match an xbox controller) Thanks again -
My first MAME arcade cabinet project using an xbox
Mega Man (?) replied to Californiadad's topic in Arcade Cabs / Controllers
Does one need all of these adapters (shown) for this project...? I checked that site and it would be over $100 for all of them. I haven't found a clear description anywhere on how to set it up with an Xbox. More info or any steps would be much appreciated... I have an original TMNT machine I am thinking of converting. Thank You -
Well....here is the start of my cabinet build

Very nice! I wish I could do one soon... Good job and good luck! -
Cbagy is working on HQ videos for the main Sega Genesis/Megadrive games His progress looks like it's coming along nice. Rxtras integration is currently pending, until he finishes his whole set and we can see if any further formatting still needs to be made. Rx said major updates will be released for all "major systems" (snes, nes, genesis) shortly after the new year. (maybe sooner)

That's not a problem. The real concern is the following. Any developer who takes the time to port from scratch an emulator, game, etc... and then designs a GUI, adds the options that they think the users would want most, etc... only does so for one reason. They do it for all the Xbox fans who would appreciate it. I didn't port Final Burn for me. I did it for the Xbox users around the world. It's the same reason I did ZsnexBox. If it was just for me, I would have stopped at ZsnexBox 1.3. They don't get anything for their work. The only thing they get is the "Great emulator!" posts. The satisfaction of the users is all you get. If I or any developer released a port, and no-none took the time to say "great job", then that would be the last port I ever did. The point in all of this is, I personally would like my work to stay "my work" for at least a little while. I don't want it immediately wrapped up in someone else's emulator where they get all the credit. If I was to release a port and someone took my source and added it to their emulator the next day, then I just did all that work for someone else. The source is out there and people can do whatever they like with it of course (that's the point of open source), but I'd be lying if I said I didn't have an opinion on it. I get that feeling all the time... (hence: people wondering who I am and what I am talking about...) no... I'm cool...

I agree that the top 40 would be cleanest and most useful... but it would be cool to tinker with 400 odd ones.... people say that they will never play all those games... just collect them. that is true, but I think that is going to be the case, regardless... I mean... 1000 games is huge... I think it comes down to what specific set of games the individual will actually play... and that will be different from another person. Within the 1000, I truthfully have all the games I could ask for, and with BP and iq_'s updates, I have more than I could have asked for or dreamed But... there actually have been several times where friends of mine have come over and said "do you have ___ game?... it might not have been very popular" but I couldn't find it.... You never know what someone will like... there could be some games in that 400 that others like, while in the "star set", they don't care about... Well... this is my "devil's advocate" take on why it would be cool to have an update of "ODD" games. Is there a dat for those games? or one could be made as optional... that would be best. Thanks Guys

Now this is what I am talking about. Two Greats getting together. Amazing post right here. Awesome Guys!

Great to have a spread sheet to look at. Showcase is up to 1000 games...? I though it was reduced to around 800 for whatever reason. This work has been amazing! Almost unbelievable! Thanks BP & iq_132

Compatibly and drivers IS of course more important. All respectable opinions, I think. Had to try, Thanks BP

Hi BP & Everyone, In Xport Emulation: we have been developing in depth synopsis for the different systems. I think a synopsis for CoinOPS would be great. It could list all the games info and specs, along with history, trivia and any useful knowledge about the game. (Being a separate page the one could access by using a button while over that game) This could also be an opportunity to view each games marquees at the top of the screen on the synopsis page (if that's possible.) It would be like an on base Klov.com (which is an awesome site) What do people think...? Is this possible? I would love this. Here is the NES synopsis that we have done for mednafenx-nes: NES [mednafenx_nes] (10-01-09) Ex: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Manufacturer: Konami Year: 1989 Class: Wide Release Genre: Scrolling Fighter Type: Videogame Monitor: * Orientation: Horizontal * Type: Raster: Standard Resolution * CRT: Color * 25-inch Conversion Class: JAMMA+ Number of Simultaneous Players: 4 Maximum number of Players: 4 Gameplay: Joint Control Panel Layout: Multiple Player Controls: * Joystick: 8-way * Buttons: 2 [Attack|Jump] Sound: Amplified Mono (one channel) Description The famous four turtles fight incredible numbers of bad guys to save April O'Neil and Splinter and to defeat their arch-enemies Krang and The Shredder. Uses the Konami two-and-a-half dimension approach to horizontal scrolling games. All players can join in on the game at any time. Game Introduction Players can choose to play either Leonardo (blue, katana blades); Raphael (red, sais); Michaelangelo (orange, nunchakas); or Donatello (purple, bo staff). The game uses Konami's 2.5 dimension perspective. Any number of players can join the game at any time. Miscellaneous There is also a two-player version of this game. Of course we would get the best quality marqees out there. There is a lot of great info for all the games that I think could totally enhance the experience. Thanks

so this game is not available...? man this looks so cool!

Maybe a futile and dumb question but... Is there any chance of ever adding cpx3 in this manner for cps3 emulation in CoinOPS...?

Drivers sugestions and related fixs for CoinOPS ReIGNITE
Mega Man (?) replied to Enkak's topic in CoinOPS
I think that's the game why Capcom filed a lawsuit against Data East because of the similarities between it and Street Fighter 2. Will add it to the topic later. I second this. I think this game is on SNES, too. It is ridiculously like SF2. It's beautiful. Looks like some good stuff is going on around here. Thanks -
Hey right on, Thanks for taking this on, hellsfury. I just realized that there are 2 hellsfury's here, before I get confused.

what emu/games are you playing on your xbox?
Mega Man (?) replied to fumanchu's topic in XBOX Hacks [/xbox]
For xbox, I have been playing Star Wars: KotOR and I have been going through many mame games lately on the new CoinOps (thankts BP and contributors) like Street Fighter 1/2 and Alpha 3, also King of the Monsters 2 -
I think it has been done, but I heard it is pretty hard. Someone recently brought up a new proposed method on accomplishing this. It sure would be nice.
-
There's that extra 1000's games thing. right BP The ones no one would play.... If someone came up with some in particular, that would be a different story. Just wondering...what is involved in the 6 hour assembly? maybe a 24hour upload....? Thanks BP, It's awesome!

that's crazy! but it looked like he had just as hard a time with the last boss (heat man) as he did with the rest. damn lead bubble....
