Resident evil 5 due on PC Just one QUESTION!
The-Ice-Man replied to emsley's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Yep. My favourite is when the football's coming at you and if you fail it flies into the kid's face. I don't think QTE really belongs in Resident Evil though. -
That's art alright, but I think it's too detailed to be considered pixel art. I think you're right with the NES thing. If it looks like an old game, where you can litterally count the squares that make it up, it's pixel art. If it's detailed like yours, then it's, well, a cartoon that happened to be drawn in MS Paint. Snow Patrol's look like they belong in Maniac Mansion.

This is so wierd. It's like in your sleep you hate electronic devices.

I once had a glass of cream soda by my bed. I woke up drenched in it. Seems I tried to drink it in my sleep and poured it all over my head.

Hairy toe in third pic down.

I thought it was. I saw someone running an Amiga emulator under linux on a PS3 on youtube.

There hasn't been anything on the news over here about swine flu in a while. I think Gordon Brown is hoping we've forgotton about it.

What are your favorite laid back games?

Plants vs Zombies. -
Ah, I really must get round to playing through the first one. Haven't unlocked anyone yet.

I suppose he'd be too busy killing Vampires, but some people seem to forget he's a Marvel character.

That's the thing I hate about artistic licence, often it gets taken too far and bad decsions get made. Like I don't think that was a good idea. I used spoiler tags just in case anyone hasn't seen The Last Stand by now. Anyway, I mentioned Blade, and was just thinking, wouldn't he have been a good character for Ultimate Alliance?
-
This is equally stupid, it sends a bad message, and I'm sure some people will have been unpleased. You're helping to prove my point about the hypocracy of it right there. I'm automatically a racist because I dared to raise the issue, even though I've stated it's wrong to change the ethnicity in either direction. Characters should be portrayed as their creators made them, not as anything else influenced by politics etc, which these race changes are. Books turned into movies often suffer the most from poor casting choices. The view taken by a lot of producers is that most people who see the movie haven't read the book so won't care, and those who have will see the movie anyway to see what it's like, and will have paid their money whether they approve or not. For Interview with a Vampire, Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt are a double team of annoyance for me. I like the Blade films. They got the casting right there. The X-Men films were mainly ok, bar the ages being a bit all over the place. The problem with these movie remakes is that marketing is the main priority, not fans or original authors.

Nope. Did they make Spawn white? Coz that's just as stupid and I'm sure people would have been upset if they did.

I know, with zero explanation why. You're just supposed to accept it and pretend that he always was. Just like with Catwoman and Kojak. And I'm getting a little tired of Samuel now. He's the same in every movie. Jamie Foxx also wants to be James Bond and a number of people have said the next James Bond should be black. The question is not 'Why not?', it's 'Why?' Why change the ethnicity of an established character? The answer is to try to appeal to a black audience who've complained about the apparent lack of high profile black heroes. But the more sensible solution would surely be to create new characters to fill that role, rather than to change ones that already exist. I doubt Mr. T would like that. He'll be played by some random UFC fighter that I don't know, the entire cast has been revealed for the A Team film accept for Howling Mad Murdock. Point proven. You can make an established white character black and there's no problem. But you dare to make an established black character white and there'd be hell to pay. Didn't know about Christian Bale, he's just a current white actor that came to mind. Iron man's alternate should be War Machine. A cool black hero, by the way.
-
How come Storm's sometimes portrayed as looking very African, like above, and sometimes just a little tanned? Why can't they make their minds up on how black she is? And what the hell's with Nick Fury morphing from a white guy to a black guy and back. One day he's David Hasslehoff, the next he's Samual L Jackson. At least he's back to being how he should be in Ultimate Alliance, but he's still gonna be Jackson in Iron Man 2 and the upcoming Fury films. I don't get it. I didn't get Ving Rhames as Kojak. I don't get why P Diddy wants to be James Bond. Imagine if they made a new Shaft with Christian Bale, and cast Brad Pitt as BA Baracus, you'd never hear the end of the racial outcry.

Yeah they made a 360 re-release of the best game ever.

9/11 why did America not use nukes?

All the money that goes into robots is such a waste. It can stumble over some bricks like a clumbsy newborn dear, great. A person can dance on them, and it doesn't cost a billion dollars. -
Both GRAW games are completely different on the PC. They're first person tactical shooters, instead of 3rd person action games. And they don't look anywhere near as good graphically. Their engine doesn't allow anti aliasing so everything looks jagged, and the cool red outlines of the enemies you get on the 360, aren't there on the PC. Infact half of the cool futuristic interface that makes GRAW look good on the 360 is missing on the PC. The movement feels very slow and sluggish, and in singleplayer at least, you'll find yourself being killed a lot. If you like creeping along very slowly making sure you're behind a wall at all times so you can't be killed instantly by the enemy, you'll love GRAW on PC. If not, you won't. I was very dissapointed with them. When it comes to tactical shooters, nothing beats Raven Shield. I doubt anything ever will. Although I do like SWAT 4, that's almost as good. And I suppose there's nothing wrong with Lockdown and Vegas, but those two are way dumbed down compared to Raven Shield. Online in GRAW on the PC could be better than singleplayer, but I don't know, my gaming PC's offline. I don't imagine it being better than Counterstrike though.

Looking for a decent electric shaver!
The-Ice-Man replied to Alpha's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
The M3 Power pictured there is the one I have. The idea behind it is that the vibrations encourage the hairs to protrude further from the skin so that you get a closer shave. I don't tend to bother with the vibration though coz I never noticed any real difference. -

I've used a Mach 3 since I started shaving. I tried a Braun electric coz I thought it might be quicker and easier, but it only works on very short growth and I always end up finishing with the Mach 3 anyway. -

There's no such thing as a decent electric shaver no matter how much you pay. Nothing beats a wet shave. -
Today I deleted two Symantec folders and a bunch of registry entires that were still there from when I had Norton Internet Secruity installed over 3 years ago. They've been there all this time and I never noticed until now. I've been looking into my startup entries to make sure there's nothing unnecessary there, and there it was, bloody Symantec processes loading every time I start Windows when I haven't used a Symantec product in years. These files and entries were still left behind even after using the Norton removal tool.
