Lay off Cospefogo, Bigby, he is good people. As to these 'threats' by BP - that was posted after Waal (and someone else, I can't remember who) started posting his real name in an attempt to antagonize him. Also, didn't you guys send him taunts through Facebook too? You can't take the moral high ground if you do stuff like that. It was definitely wrong and, as I told you and Waal, it will only add to the animosity here. I think George Carlin put it best when he said: "Fighting for peace is like screwing for virginity."

WOW, just looked at that list of arcades and people should be very excited about: carnevil - this is a CHD 3D game that I thought was unplayable - great news! vr - this is a great add too. I think before it had issues with control.
-
Hi, also, could you take some photos that are further out, so we can see your whole setup? I recently bought a 50 inch Plasma and I was thinking of doing something like you have. Thanks!
-
I agree. Its very minor though. Pajankle, would you be willing to help BP and I test when the time comes? Regarding your problem with some vertical games not rotating, its possible that they are actually listed as horizontal by MAME. If you come across one that doesn't work, look it up at the MAWS database and see what its orientation is. Its its not identified as vertical, CoinOps won't know to rotate it. http://maws.mameworld.info/maws/

Hi, I noticed that distortion too in Ms. Pac-Man when rotated in 720p mode. If you look closely the distortion areas are shaped like triangles. Its odd. I'd be willing to help test too in order to discover the issue. Its small, but annoying. Pajankle, try it in 480p mode and see if the problem persists. Talk soon

Ya, the design of Retro Gamer is great overall. Most game magazines look god awful. Bigby, I might be interested.
-
People should be buying this magazine, especially if you're from the UK. Here is a good write-up on it with scans: http://blog.hardcoregaming101.net/2011/05/...-88-and-89.html

What the fuck happened now? And why are people using inappropriate names? That isn't kosher in the least. EDIT: I just saw. Bigby, apology accepted. It was in bad taste, but your owning up to it. Waal & NeoBomb, you're both acting like jerks. Stop.

WOW - it looks cool! Thanks, Fu! Its very 90s too.

There is a setting called WIDESCREEN TWEAK in Advanced settings - enable it.

Whatever. Can we get back to talking about games/emulation now?

KOF2000 VS X-MEN VS Street Fighter (SNES)
PhilExile replied to fumanchu's topic in XBOX Hacks [/xbox]
Thanks again, Fu! -
I've used them in the past and its worked fine. With that particular HDD I have no idea. Each one is different and you HAVE to format large HDs properly or they will corrupt data. There is a user at Xbox-Scene that knows a lot about that. His name is BombBloke. I think he actually wrote the XBox partition application. Hi - You speak about SATA adaptator ... kool information, but are you sure this one is working fine ? http://www.dealextreme.com/p/sata-to-ide-h...pter-card-12537 - And if it is, can i use the SATA HDD i want like i want ? exemple : SAMSUNG 1.5To 5400Tm ??? Or i must use some HD of a compatibility list ? Because now with N64 games, and the tons of PSX games ... and in the future the "Laser Disk" games ... 500Go IDE will be full lol - Finaly : Have you a good tutorial to instal the HD ? Because i have a Linux CD to install xbox OS and format the HD ... but when i try it , it does not see my SATA drive ... it can only format and see IDE drives ... Thanks
-
Hi, I got them from here: http://www.ultimarc.com/ Just let the owner know you want the more sensitive switches.
-
It works, but there is some delay, especially when launching cores in CoinOPs. (Any XBE) Thanks for the link but in doing the absolute minimum reading I did, I went for a vertical bridge: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/sata-to-ide-h...pter-card-12537 Said to be pretty compatible despite it may need some DIY insulating. Now to find a faster, ATA 133 cable of suitable length so that if fits neatly...

You could do what this guy did: http://www.xerxes3rd.net/staticpages/index...ontrollerOnXbox I did the same thing mostly, but used a DB-15 cord instead. Works flawlessly for using old controllers - NES, SNES, Genesis, 2600, etc. Sorry Phil, thanks for the advise but I think I need a pad/convertor solution. Original Xbox and S pads are no good for beat em ups, the dpads are terrible. I think I'll have to use PS2 adapters instead Anyone wanna get rid of some cheap?
-
Excellent point. Bash, I use a modified X-Arcade. If you can, swap out the sticks with Mag Stick Plus - which can switch between 4 and 8-way controls on the fly. You do need to change the default 'switches' to be more sensitive in my opinion. More on that here: http://www.togeo.com/togeo/wordpress/?p=67 If you just ask the guy who sells them to replace the default ones, he will. Just point him to that article and he'll know what your talking about. Snipa, I heard SATA-IDE converters with a Marvell chipset are best. Check out this article: http://tinyurl.com/64lmry9 Its PS2 related, but he talks about the Marvell chipsets.

Well, think of it this way. In many ways, BP is like Steve Jobs - but not old and balding. Where he is similar is: 1. He has a 'vision' of how things should work 2. He wants to keep the interface simple 3. He wants anyone to be able to pick it up and be able to use it The reason he put the locks in is because people - not the Xtras Team, as far as I know - made editions that had many, many issues. The build I'm thinking of is the "Raped" edition. BP then gets questions here regarding bugs in these editions, which wastes everyone's time. RX also made an edition, but I don't think Madmab or the Xtras 'Team' had much to do with it. It was mostly RX from what I remember. Also, I think if you removed a lot of roms - even arcades - it would cause the locks to come down. I could be wrong though. Basically, its a way of keeping one edition out there - without variation - and it then becomes easier to troubleshoot if there is a bug. This is how I understood it.
-
Well, maybe the one lock. I think BP was saying there could be other, less obvious ones. I still don't see the point of "getting around it." The sorting method works great so that if you don't want to select a console game, you don't even have to see it. The sorting engine is one of the best parts of the interface and hasn't been reproduced in any other Xbox frontend that I've seen. Well, actually, FBL had something like it, but it didn't work as well.

I LOVED this game on the Dreamcast! Highly recommended!

I think we should add these (if they haven't already) to the PSX core - since they aren't able to be emulated well with the MAME core. I think most have PSX alternatives. For those that don't know, the ZN.C driver is for games whose hardware was based on the PSone. I took the liberty of removing the dupes. Lets all try to get along! I like that XBMC skin your using Bigby. Is that the one GuyBird made? BP, I'm going to post some screens mid-week to show people the benefits of pixel perfect in consoles/FBL. People sometimes don't get it till you show them the way. Talk soon
-
He had advance mode on. If you don't turn that on, you only see the first page and those are pretty basic. I really like Madmab's emus too, but they are too complex for my nephews to use. (They are 6 and 8 - so not the intended audience either) BP did a very good job in making a simple, unified interface - especially considering this is MAME.
-
It only affects the capcom widescreen games. the only thing i can suggest is going to the screen adjust in the main settings and adjust it to suit. Is it possible to do this per game? I'd rather not change it globally each time.
