How would someone fake page views? Also, why are they important? I actually never even noticed them before this was brought up.

I love it when you talk dirty, baby. Keep it up.

wacka wacka

Ironic that most of use are in our late 20s, early 30s or beyond, yet many act like like they are 12. Perhaps they are emulating their youthful selves?

Hi there, I'm guessing that this issue is mostly caused by the HD. There is no reason why you should still have a stock in there anyway, so I'd recommend upgrading. I would avoid SATA as they have weird slowdown at times with converters. With most emulators, this doesn't matter much. However, emulators such as CoinOps and Surreal this becomes more apparent due to the way they launch multiple XBEs. (This is when the slowdown happens) There is a 500 Gb HD on NewEgg that looks pretty good to me: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16822136142 I didn't check to see if it locks or not, but honestly, that's pretty pointless now that Xbox Live is dead. Not having to lock is awesome. You can just swap out HDs whenever and have them work without issue. Also, I tested CoinOps Reignite Lite on an IDE and there wasn't the extreme slowdown present before. There is a 1 or maybe 1 and half second pause when you see the screen freeze when the rom is selected, but its not awful. As BP said, he will look at this sometime in the future. Anyway, good luck. I dont know which Xbox version I have. The MFG date is 2005/04/13, so I guess it should be a 1.6 . It is modded with an Aladdin and the bios is EvoX. well i dont know if you need to reformat your drive, seeing as bendermameox loads up the games quicker.but anyway seeing as you xbox is chipped you could just download the slayers auto installer disc 2.7. with this disc you can basically reformat your xbox hdd.just dont go ahead and reformat your hdd just yet as that miht not be the problem. Do you have any idea of what could be the problem if it is not the HD? I'm thinking of buying a new one which should be faster. By the way, is it possible to use SATA drive in the Xbox?

Bigby still has aspergers.

I wonder if that's the issue. Maybe the HD is beginning to fail. (It could be 8 years old at this point) I would try to reformat the HD and reload a more recent dash, like XBMC and then reinstall CoinOps and see if that solves your issue. Try it with BenderMAME as well. Good luck I am using the original Xbox HDD 8GB(its the Seagate). I have no memory upgrade, so 64MB only. Dashboard is UnleashX 0.38.0515A Build 565 Do you need anything else?

This is why there is a 'kick' button in IRC

10 minutes or even 1 minute is too long to wait. It sounds like something else is the problem here. Could you let us know what your configuration is? AKA: hard drive type, dashboard, etc.

Hi (XBOX), Actually, if you took time to look at the actual topic (I know it must be hard with all the interspersed off-topic malicious comments) then you would realize that I was actually speaking with BP and the other members trying to find a solution to the issue that is affecting a very small number of people who are using SATA HDs. I would continue, but it'd be an exercise in futility. Enjoy the rest of your day.
-
Yes, that's what happened to me. cant wait... last build was great.... PS Double Dragon does not glitch at the end after killing the machine gun guy, but it does freeze as he just goes throught the door. I hiope it dont happen on 2 player, I love the fact you and pal fight for the girl at the end.... awesome keep it up

Waal, Actually, the sole reason I posted to you was: I don't want you flooding the thread with useless posts. Additionally, I respect the time that others (BP, NES, FreakDave, Madmab, Xport, RX, ICQ, Kenshiro, etc) invest in these emulators. I do not enjoying coming into these threads and seeing that 60% of them are childish, back-and-forth banter that is completely counter productive and insulting their efforts. What are you complaining about anyway? That BP isn't polite enough? He wasn't even addressing you, so I don't know why you felt the need to involve yourself. I'm bowing out of this conversation as I'm sure it will just drag on and on and on. Best Regards

Waal, Please do not make this another 'waring' thread. No one was asking for your help or opinion in the first place. No disrespect, but please stop posting in these threads. You aren't offering any suggestions to solve the problem and only trying to stir up undue animosity. Thanks

That's a good point. I do have XBMC on E. Maybe if I remove it and put it on F it will solve the issue. I will try that tonight and let you know. Thanks. Do you have a lot of freespace on your E Drive ? (I keep 400Mo free all the time) Are you using a lot of directories for your roms ? I can't see any other problem. Good luck.
-
Hello, I tried reformating the E drive, but unfortunately, the lag was still present in CoinOps Lite. BP, when you have a chance, could you look into this ? Thanks The last time I met this problem was when I was giving a hand with CoinOPs: Because of installing & removing many versions of C.O., the freespace on my HDD became smaller & very fragmented. So one thing had to be done: FTP the content of E Drive to PC, format E, FTP Content of E drive back (of course no reboot, no power off). (If I remember well E:/ is the partition used for the virtual memory as well as it's used for the babe saves, anyway it worked well with me).

A picture would help.

No need to get nasty Waal, BP said he would look into this when the new build is released, but he is busy with other things right now. He isn't on yours, mine, or anyone's payroll, so no one has any right to demand he do something right away. AKA, all this stuff is free. Remember, this is a hobby. Chill.

This isn't what is causing the slowdown. I loaded up ShowRoom Lite with its roms and videos and the same slowdown was present when launching a rom. I believe the issue is due in part to our using SATA HDs and something that may have changed in the way CoinOps launches XBEs.

Cyber Commando loads, but only 4 FPS, 57 megs of RAM free. Maybe these games just need drivers? ICQ, where are you!? Gals Panic 2 loads, 60 FPS, 52 megs of RAM free. New 'babe' game I think! @_@ Strider 2 loads with sound, 4 FPS... driver maybe? VM Settings were: threshold: 1, commit: 256, distribute: 65535 G-Darius loads w/sound, starts at 40 FPS, but once the action starts it goes to 4 FPS. Same VM settings as Strider 2 Beastorizer loads w/sound, starts at 20 FPS, but once the action starts it goes to 4 FPS. Same VM settings as Strider 2 Street Fighter EX Street Fighter EX 2 Street Figthter EX 2 Plus Street Fighter EX Plus Assume these are all the same. Loads with the same VM settings as Strider 2. FPS at 4. Suikoenbu loads, but runs at 4 FPS, with the following settings: threshold: 24, commit: 1024, distribute: 65535 Prop Cycle, loads well, but runs at 3 FPS Done for now.
-
Golgo 13 loads with the following settings: threshold: 48 commit: 256 distribute: 65535 Unfortunately, it freezes after the boot.
-
UPDATE: Gaiapolis now boots! After talking to BP, he suggested I mess with the VM settings to try to get some games to load that usually wont. This one is the first for me to get up and running. Settings were as follows: threshold: 64 commit: 256 distribute: 65535 The game runs great! The only time I noticed it drop below 60 FPS was in the beginning and I that was because it was accessing the HD. I have a SATA HD and sometimes its a bit slower. I'll post more if I find them.

Either babe9999 or babeeeee if you have the newest CoinOps. BP, I downloaded and installed CoinOps ShowRoom Lite and made sure the T/U Data folders were deleted before launching. The same lag is still present when launching games, returning to the game list and return to the dashboard. I'm sure since both myself and Dballs have SATA hard drives, that must be part of the problem. Since this didn't happen on previous versions of CoinOps, could you please check to see if something was changed in the code that could be causing the issue? Thanks again. Showroom is looking great btw.
-
Drama-rammmmmaaaa!! Anyway, BP, I'm going to load up Lite this afternoon, delete the old T/U Data. Hopefully, this will fix the loading issue. I'll be sure to post either way. Thanks again

Hmmm, its odd. Since both of use have SATAs though, I'm sure that's the part of the issue. Here is the converter I'm using: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12537 BP, could you take a peak at the launching (I think that's the name for it...) code and let us know if anything is different from previous versions of the emu that may be causing this issue? Thanks
-
Hi, I have the same exact issues and I too am using a SATA HD & RX's romset. In other versions of CoinOps, I didn't have this issue. I don't think the additional lag is caused by us storing the ROMs someplace other than the default location or the romset themselves. I tried using my original Showcase romset in the default location and the same lag was present. I do think that the issue lies with our SATA HDs, but something must have changed slightly in the code for this issue to become so pronounced. BP, is this something you could look at for us? I could help you test if necessary. Thanks, Phil
