    MOVED

Seriously, how many threads do we need about this? Surely it would be easier just to keep everything CoinOPS related in one thread.
  2. I voted for MK core since there's no option for 'More iq_132 drivers'.
  3. Have you spoken to nes6502 about using the FBL core? I understand it's open source but if he doesn't want his code included in CoinOPS then you shouldn't use it. Many others would agree I'm sure, and not for the sake of causing trouble as you may think but out of respect for a developer who is still an active part of the community.
  4. Would agree with this. As an arcade emulator CoinOPS is becoming quite interesting particularly if Midway and KI cores are added. But the home console stuff just seems out of place since home and arcade are two totally different things. Having everything in one list is surely going to just look like a big mess to anyone who knows the difference. Still looking forward to trying any arcade updates in the new build though. That made me lol.
  5. I seem to remember I had a problem with a long wait before the loading screen when I first tried CoinOPS. At the time I just went back to MAMEoX128 because it didn't have the problem and loading was always fast. I'll have to try the most recent build sometime but there's no way over 30 seconds to load a game is normal. (unless it's an encrypted Neo-Geo set)
  6. It's true. BP you need to let this go and stop bringing it up every time someone posts a question about CoinOPS. At the moment you're killing these threads yourself, nobody else is responsible.

    Hey BP...

If you find settings that work for a game you can add them to the vm.txt file. Then when you set VMM back to Auto it will use those settings. That's how it worked in all previous builds of MAMEoX anyway.
  8. Outside of the UI, I don't think there are any major differences between versions. KI-XXX I think had some kind of option to turn off backgrounds in KI2 for a speed increase but I never used it. Always preferred the original lantus version. Likklebaers build is based on this but I think the only difference there is she got it running from DVD as well as HDD. So I guess if you want CoinOPs to run from disc you should use Likklebaer's version.
  9. These are the sources I have for KI. I don't know if they're the latest but I think so. This is GoGo's build (KI-XXX): http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QUOTZIT8 This is lantus' original build: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=U3F9HUNI This is Likklebaer's build: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7SABQ5EG
  10. If I remember correctly, MAMEoX 0.72 plays Ultimate just fine. It was MAME-X that used to run out of memory.
  11. MAMEoX 0.72 is the best emu for Midway games. It runs all the MK games at full speed with sound. You should ask GogoAckman for the sources to KI-XXX. I might still have them on a backup disc somewhere. If you can't get them anywhere else I'll try and dig them out.
  12. Get a job and a haircut, hippy!
  13. Will definitely check out the new MAME additions. I hope you don't abandon the MAME side of things in favour of all the console stuff.
  14. Oh please not another name change.
  15. I maintain that the FBA-XXX UI would work far better than this one. DOA, if you're in touch with GogoAckman then why not ask him to bolt it on there for you? God knows he stuck it on every emu he ever touched, even where it was massively unsuitable (KI-XXX anyone?).
  16. I always thought it would be cool to have a single unified emulation interface much like Maximus Arcade for the PC. But I think the key thing there is that all the systems have separate games lists and aren't all mixed up as they appear to be in CoinOPS. The CoinOPS UI just isn't suitable for this. I think an interface similar to the one FBA-XXX used to have with different 'pages' for different systems would work far better and I should think would be fairly simple to add. But as it is it's an ok step in the right direction.
  17. The games have different resolutions so your best bet is to just stretch the display to fill a 4:3 screen and leave it at that. Most arcade games just filled up a standard 4:3 monitor regardless of the resolution anyway.
  18. I've never called myself an emu author (the red banner under my pic was nothing to do with me) and I never expected people to treat me like one in the way you do. I've always been extremely reluctant to take the credit for what amounts to just tweaking other people's work and I always directed that credit to where it was due.
  19. CoinOPS contains emus coded by many different authors. DOA is not one of them.
  20. Just to clarify; Bonky0013 is the guy who dumped the ROM of the recent Final Fight hack making it possible for us all to play it. Many thanks for that Bonky.
  21. Does your new build contain these changes that were posted a while ago? It's the new and updated MAME stuff that I'm mostly interested in.
  22. I believe in XPort emulators SRAM is only saved when you exit the game. But some games had no save function at all, this could be the case with Super GnG.
  23. My retro-gaming knowledge may be limited but even I know there's no such game as "Super Mario Bros I".
  24. Agree with you there. The No-Intro Screenshot Archive provides screens and titles for every single ROM in the DATs along with tools that make updating a breeze. If I had some sort of cab setup perhaps I would want more than this but combined with a great looking skin it's more than good enough. You are taking this all too personally. This is a thread to discuss which ROMsets we like to use and why, it's inevitable that there be some comparison between sets. Close-mindedness is not being open to other people's preferences and priorities. There are many threads full of praise for what you've done by people that will use it. But I appreciated the chance here to share my personal opinion as to why No-Intro sets are the best for me.
  25. The point I'm trying to get across is that different sets suit different users. Some will like attractive boxart and videos, others will prefer more complete and up to date ROMs. But there is no one best set for everyone. ressurectionx appears to be of the opinion that the Xtras set is the undisputed best for all users, which simply is not true. That's not to put down any of the work that's gone into it, it's just a statement of fact.
