The ROM info is from FBA Plus. Can you be more specific about how it mistaken and the source of your information? In any case I doubt I will remove the set since it definitely exists even if a correct dump is not yet available. The P2 ROM for kf2k2mp2 is exactly the same as the one from kof2k2nd if you have that set.
-
I don't need to add new ROMs. Just to add the ones that are supported without having to re-download them all would be enough.
-
Is there any way to acquire this without the ROMs? I'd like to check it out but I'd rather not spend hours downloading it when I already have all the necessary sets. If anyone can help please let me know. Thanks.

FBA-XXX Pro v1.13 ============= - Added ini switch for kiosk mode. (see kioskmode.txt for details) (by djohng) - Uploaded 'kiosk_skins' package containing 2 skins for use with kiosk mode. (again thanks to djohng) - Re-enabled use of fbaxxx.ini in d:\ini\ for setting kiosk mode. - Added ROM info for svcpcba. (not working) - Fixed kof2k2bl. - Fixed some DAT errors. - Several ROMset updates and additions. Enjoy.
-
Perhaps someone with some artistic skills or perhaps who knows of alot of pre-existing FBA-XXX skins could sort out a more kiosk-friendly skin than the default one to include in the Pro package for those who wish to use this option. Something with a nice big screenshot area or some such... I dunno.
-
FBA-XXX also includes AES sets just not as many as Pro. And since Pro's codebase is from the latest FBA-XXX it also has the custom Coin button and No L\R options. But yes, you will have to use up-to-date and correct ROMsets if you intend to use FBA-XXX Pro when djohng's kiosk code is added.

Lol. Good to know great minds think alike. I had no plans to implement a 'kiosk' mode since I myself don't have anything like that sort of setup. But if people want it then I'd be happy to add your code to the next build when you have it up and running (with full credit to you of course). As for the autoboot option, it just seems pointless. To me the whole appeal of an emulator like this is to be able to choose from multiple games to play on the emulated hardware. Besides is it really that much work to just highlight a game in the list and press A?
-
Simply the best. Many thanks for all your hard work HK$.
-
I agree. It's very hard to see how the emulator itself could be improved upon. FBA-XXX is an amazing achievement.
-
Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate what you've done with the text in terms of creating a retro feel. But IMHO there's too much space allocated to artwork and not nearly enough to the game list. With a more balanced layout and a nicer font then this could certainly make for an excellent MAMEoX skin.
-
Just an opinion but that skin, particularly the style and positioning of the game list, just looks horrible to me.
-
hmm, didn't realise that. It's never given me any problems.
-
That's right. They're in there becasue I'm just going with FBA Plus from now on for CRCs since it's far too much hassle for me to confirm every new ROM update I come across.

Some information you might find useful. CloneXB creates ISOs using the XDVDFS system and has a very simple interface.

FBA-XXX Pro v1.12 ============= - Fixed graphics in kf2k2spr. - Fixed ms5plus M ROM size. - Patched out HW test in Neo-Geo games. (removes ugly green screen on boot) (by iq_132) - The following sets have been added: aof3k fswords lastsold rbff2k ssf2tbr1 ms5pcb (incomplete) - Updated several sets based on CRC info from FBA Plus. - Fixed disabled shortcuts when reconnecting controllers. Enjoy. Regarding the reported 'control lag' issue; after much testing I think I can safely say that there is nothing to fix. Enabling Command View in any game across all systems reveals that there is not even the slightest delay in the controller input. More likely what's being perceived as lag is simply the fact that MAME runs certain games slightly faster than FBA.
-
Thanks. v1.12 is on the way. I just need to look into the control lag problem a little more to see if it can be fixed.

Many of the MAME sets are incorrect and there are also some genuine bootlegs missing. Ferchogtx has posted all the necessary code for a correct and complete NG MAME set here: http://neosource.1emulation.com/forums/index.php?topic=519.0

No I'm afraid I have no interest in adding this. This isn't really necessary since most of the additions have already been implemented into FBA-XXX Pro over the last few builds, the rest is mostly just tidying of the code. I will however be using FBA Plus as a reference for ROM CRCs from now on.

Again let me stress that I'm not actively against this but while we're getting our facts straight; Abandonware is a term only applicable to certain PC and other computer games that the developers themselves have allowed to enter the public domain. To date there have been no console or arcade games that have been declared abandonware by any software publsher. The copyrights on all these games are still very much active, hence the frequently released arcade classics collections on modern consoles. In fact the majority of copyrights on video games last a minimum of 70 years. While I'm sure your releases are of benefit to many people in the community, I don't think you should delude yourselves by trying to pass them off as anything other than warez distributions. I guess it just makes me a little uncomfortable since it was nice to see this forum cleaning up its act recently without becoming another X-S. Topics like this based on piracy feel like a little a step backwards (and I feel exactly the same about the ROM distribution discussions in the FBA-XXX Pro thread).
-
It's not a grey area, emulators alone are a grey area, this is blatant warez distribution. I don't have a problem with it as such, I just wanted to make that clear.
-
I haven't tested this yet but could you tell me, is the problem with both the analogue stick and the d-pad or just the analogue stick?
-
Because it's a mistake in the driver.
-
I'll look into fixing this for the next build. Keep in mind that even in original arcade form most of these games are stretched to fill a 4:3 monitor. So technically they are already being displayed correctly. This is particularly true of CPS2 games which look extremely squashed if played in their original aspect ratio.

FBA-XXX Pro v1.11a ============== It seems the control config fix from the last build was not working for some people. This revised version should work for everyone. It may be necessary to delete your old savegame/save folder. NOTE: To avoid conflicts with the default button set, the shortcut for diagnostics mode is now Black+Back and service mode is now White+Back.
-
I just tried mapping the controllers to your config (both from the main menu and in-game) and it works perfectly for me. All the buttons are behaving exactly as they have been set. Please double-check that you have deleted the folder E:\TDATA\FFFF0504 also delete the cfg and ini folders from the emulator directory if they exist. Try putting them in the previews folder in the emulator directory. I've never made any changes to the FBA-XXX screenshot code so any problems that exist will have been there from the start.
