Use the DATs included with the patch to find out the CRCs of the ROMs you have and the ones you're missing. Then from your lists download whichever patches turn your ROMs into the ones you need.

Fixed.

From what I've been hearing the newer build does seem to have some problems. So here's a new patch that will turn the XBE from the 08/26 release into a Pro build that uses 08/02 as a base: http://www.thraxen.com/emu1/fbaxxxpro_patch2.rar This is the build I'm currently using and, as you say, it does seem alot more stable. I've also updated the first post in the thread.
-
Well then it must be a problem with FBA-XXX since very little else has been changed in the Pro build.
-
I've undone a little change I made to the last build. Re-download the patch and see if you still have sound issues. I believe FBA Plus supports hacks as well as genuine bootlegs. As I said, I'm only interested in sets that come from actual boards.
-
Is the sound issue just with the Pro build or does it happen in FBA-XXX also? SF2 Touryu is missing because I only updated the Neo-Geo drivers in these newer builds. Everything else is the same as FBA-XXX. I'll include it in the next update. kof2k1pls was removed because it's a suspected ROM hack. FBA-XXX Pro only supports genuine bootlegs. I've not heard of kf2k2spr. If it isn't a ROM hack and you can provide a driver then I'll gladly put it in the next build on a *not tested* basis.

PATCH UPDATED: - Fixed a problem where non-working parent sets were always at the top of the ROM list. - Some minor ROM updates. - Added driver for kof10thu. *not tested* - Added driver for kof2k4se. *not tested* The two new drivers I just threw in on the off-chance that they'll work without any special modifications. I haven't tested them because I don't have time to hunt down the necessary ROMs. Let me know if they work or not.

Okay, the patch has now been updated to work with the latest FBA-XXX release (08/26).
-
I've fixed the links but keep in mind that the downloads in this topic are from an older version of FBA-XXX Pro. The patch for the latest build is here: http://www.1emulation.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14452 Just a suggestion to the mods, it might be an idea to close this old thread now to avoid confusion.
-
Okay. The problems should be fixed now. Please re-download the patch. My apologies.
-
That's odd. All I've done is update the ROMs. Pretty much everything else is identical to the official build so I don't see why it should be giving errors. I will look into it though.

This patch will update the latest build of FBA-XXX (08/26) to use the FBA-XXX Pro ROMsets. It needs to be applied to the unmodified 'fbax.xbe' from fba_26_08.zip with an IPS patcher such as UIPS or Lunar. Also included in the archive are DATs, the Pro default skin (based on an original by Duracelleur), and a complete list of all supported games. http://www.thraxen.com/emu1/fbaxxxpro_patch.rar Thanks to Thraxen for hosting the files. Note: After applying the patch you can, if you wish, compress the XBE using 'pack.bat'. This creates a smaller file and may improve performance or fix issues for some users. Just remember to apply the patch first. Enjoy! + T +

The latest one - 23.07. But the build the patch creates will be based on the 01.07 code. If you have a working driver I'll gladly take a look at it.

Okay. All games should be back to working now since I've rolled back the code to how it was in the previous build. So now what you basically have is a build identical to the last one except that xmvsfu is still supported and the patch is for the latest FBA-XXX. I was doubtful about whether I should work on putting the new FBA-XXX code into Pro since, as I've mentioned before, I don't have the enthusiasm for the project that I used to. It wouldn't be fair on you guys who've been so supportive for me to throw together builds without really being interested in them. Things would just go downhill fast. So with that in mind, I've re-added the link to the FBA-XXX Pro sourcecode in case Gogo or anyone else might find some of the work I've done useful. And of course I'm more than happy to give any assistance should it be needed. I may even update it myself once in a while if any new ROMs are dumped just to keep things up-to-date. There is no ClrMAME Pro DAT in the archive on account of the above mentioned problem with it (due to the DAT converter I've been using). But if someone can send me the one generated by the emu I'll gladly add it (I don't have FTP access to my Xbox >_ + T +

UPDATE: - Patch now works with latest FBA-XXX build and merged in some of the new code from that release. (thanks to GoGo as always) - xmvsfu now works thanks to the recent XOR releases.

Yes, you're right. Outrun does seem to have a more natural feel with analog controls as opposed to digital. It would be great if it could be improved to work as it's supposed to in all games (as it is in Star Wars you can't even move the target into the top corners of the screen). But failing that, would an 'Analog Control: On/Off' option be possible?
-
Excellent work Is there any chance you could disable (or make an option to disable) the analog control support in your next build so that games like Star Wars would once again be playable? I can't think of a single game that benefits from MAMEoX's messed up analog controls, so it would perhaps be better to stick with digital like MAME-X. Unless of course they could be made to work correctly, but that's probably alot more work.
-
Rather than trying to add/change drivers, is their any possibility you'll consider looking into some of the more fundamental issues that have been mentioned here in the past? Specifically: - Games not displaying in their correct aspect ratio. Games like Bubble Bobble, Kung Fu Master, Rolling Thunder really suffer from this. - Screen tearing even with VSync enabled. - Analogue controls making some games near unplayable. (Star Wars, Jurassic Park, etc.) Perhaps analogue control should be optional or just disabled altogether since I really can't think of any games that benefit from it in its current state. I still use MAME-X over MAMEoX for all the games it supports since it doesn't have any of the above problems. It would be great if MAMEoX could be brought up to the same standard.

No, it's not an error. I find the most reliable set information comes from Johnboy's NG DAT. These sets were removed from the latest one until such time as any proof emerges that these are true bootlegs and not fakes.

UPDATE: Okay, bios problems are resolved. Uni-bios v2.1 should work fine now (thanks to Thraxen for the help).
-
UPDATE: Seems there was a problem running the new uni-bios with the last release. So I've updated the build to go back to v2.0 for now. EDIT: There were still some issues with some of the new bios files causing scrambled graphics. I'll get a fixed version up as soon as I can.
-
You'll have to ask Gogo about that. FBA-XXX is his project.
-
UPDATE: - Updated many Neo-Geo ROMsets with the latest releases. - Added new CPS2 clone sets from MAME. This is purely a ROMset update. I haven't had the chance to address any other outstanding issues with the emu. As to whether or not there will be any more releases of FBA-XXX Pro after this one I am uncertain at the moment. You see... Not long ago I was asked by TMaul (Kev from the FBA dev team for those who don't know) if I'd like to help with a new build of FBA-X that he's been working on. The main objectives being to clean out the inessentials and to use a codebase closer to the PC version. Naturally I said I'd love to be involved since I really don't see FBA-XXX going much further than it already has in terms of real development and this project has the potential to give FBA a new lease of life on the Xbox. The downside of this (if you can call it that) is that it doesn't really leave me with much inclination to continue working on FBA-XXX Pro when I know something far better is in the pipeline. I'm not saying there won't be any more builds of Pro. Just that things will probably slow down from here and be mostly limited to ROM updates. + T +

In that case I'll do my best to include it in a future build but it probably won't be in the next one.
