Excellent. Thanks djohng. I'll add a note about that to the readme.
-
Both Bakraid sets work fine for me with full sound. This is certainly odd. Perhaps try going into the save directory and deleting the config files for these games. I haven't a clue what's going on here with some games working for some people and not others. Hopefully djohng will be able to shed some light on the situation.

dfeveron runs fine for me no matter how many times I launch it. One thing I have noticed though is that the screen stays black during the HW test for this game so you may have to give it a minute or so before it starts (or just fast-forward through it ).
-
Thanks Mr.X. I'll stick to the 512k ones then.
-
So why is it then that in all the DATs, the correct S ROMs for these bootleg sets are always listed as 128k? For example, whenever I see a DAT or driver for svcsplus the S ROM is always listed as 233d6439 128k. There is a 512k version (a792fdba) but this is only ever used in the alternate set (svcsplsa). Surely if the 128k ROM is incorrect, the 512k version should be used in the main set and there should be no svcsplsa. Obviously the reason I'm asking is because I want to use the most correct ROMs in FBA-XXX Pro. And I never know whether to go with what the drivers and DATs say (128k) or with what seems more correct to me (512k). Thanks alot for the help Mr.X

UPDATE: - kof2k3up is now working (set has changed a little too, see DATs for details) - updated progear rom names to match MAME. - updated bbakradu set name to match MAME. The battleg and svcchaos problems are proving more tricky than I thought. I've asked djohng to take a look at the latter when he gets the chance. In the meantime I've assigned both sets NOT_WORKING status. Use clone sets instead for now.

I noticed that pretty much all bootleg/hacked Neo-Geo sets use a 128k S ROM, even when the original set uses a 512k one. This results in a loss of fake transparency effects for these sets. So my question is, when one of these games is run from an actual bootleg board does it have fake transparency effects or not? Thanks alot. + T +

The sound in bbkradu works fine for me. The set name did need changing to bbakradu to match MAME though. If there was a problem, maybe that fixed it.

UPDATE: This release sees a big update to the bootleg drivers. Many sets have been changed, see the DATs for details. The only one I'm still working on is kof2k3up, and I also haven't had the chance to look at the svcchaos problem yet. I'll try and see to those over the weekend. So here's what's new: - Fixed samsh5sp and samsh5sd 'Bank Error' problem. - Fixed pbobblen and pbobblna. (by djohng) - Implemented Text Bankswitch code. (by bms888) - The following sets are now working correctly: ms4plus ms5plus kof2003b kof2k4ex - New DATs generated by the emu itself. (thanks Thraxen)
-
Thanks PRican, I've been able to fix most of the problems you've reported. I'll get an updated version out later tonight with some DATs generated by the emu itself.
-
Can I just clarify which set you mean by 'decrypted'? Is it samsh5sd or ss5spnd?
-
As I said, bootleg drivers are all preliminary and untested. But I will look into this and see if I can improve things. Thanks for letting me know. svcchaos shouldn't be a problem to fix. Do you know if svchaosa works? And the Zintrick driver comes directly from FBA PC, I haven't changed it at all. So I would presume the S ROM to be correct.
-
UPDATE: - Fixed samsh5nd. (generated DATs will now show the correct ROMs also) - Fixed missing sound in pspikes2. (bug from FBA PC)
-
Yes I've found the problem with samsh5nd. A fixed version will be out shortly.
-
UPDATE: - Fixed performance issues in s1945p and s1945pd. - Fixed ct2k3sp S ROM size. Try using the uni-bios for the time being. I will look into it, although this P ROM should be fully decrypted and should not need any additional code to get it working.

The following Psikyo games are supported and are displayed in the Others section of the gamelist: BtlKRoad, // Battle K-Road - Multi Style Fighting Tournament Gunbirdj // Gunbird (Japan) Gunbirdk // Gunbird (Korea) Gunbird // Gunbird (World) SamuraiA // Samurai Aces (World) SngkAce, // Sengoku Ace (Japan) S1945, // Strikers 1945 S1945a, // Strikers 1945 (alternate version) S1945j, // Strikers 1945 (Japan) S1945jn // Strikers 1945 (Japan, unprotected) Tengai, // Tengai / Sengoku Blade - Sengoku Ace Episode II Though s1945 and Tengai do not work as yet.

Guwange shows up fine for me with the downloaded DATs. But for the next update I will see about including some up-to-date generated DATs in the package rather than ones I've edited by hand.
-
This was actually just an error with the DATs. The emulator uses the correct p1n ROM as described by Mr.X for samsh5nd. I've updated the DATs in the package to correct this.
-
Yes, that's a mistake. It should be 256k. I'll fix that for the next update.
-
UPDATE: - Fixed sound in slammast. - Fixed missing sounds in socbrawl. (bug from FBA PC ?) - Fixed crash when loading an incomplete ROMset. (by GogoAckman) - The following sets have been added: Beast // Beast (Neo-Demo) (PD) Columns // Columns (Neo-Demo) (PD) Neodemo // Neo-Demo (Demo)(PD) poknight // Poker Night - Made some improvements to 'Pro Fighter' skin.
-
The version of Neopong that's supported is v1.1. Neo no Panepon is the latest also. I don't really see the need to add older versions. I'll add the other ones you mention for the next update though. Gogo has just let me know that the sound wasn't working correctly in my Slammasters fix. But I've corrected this now so that will be in the next update also.
-
Well I put together the incomplete set that you showed and tried to run it. But the emu didn't crash. It shows the screen you posted with the missing ROMs for about 5 or 6 seconds then displays the 'There was an error starting...' dialogue at which point you can press Back or B to return to the menu. Which is what it's supposed to do. If there is a bug I'd like to fix it but it's kind of hard if I can't re-create it.
-
Thanks I'll check that out. You don't. Not every new 'feature' from FBA-XXX will be implemented into FBA-XXX Pro since the focus of the project is performance and compatibility, not endless amounts of settings and options. And this one in particular is completely unnecessary, since Pro only uses one set of VMM routines (the ones it has always used ). BTW, in case anyone missed it in the other thread, I've added the Media folder to the Pro archive - stupid mistake, sorry.
-
Oops! Sorry, the Media folder is in the archive now. And the XBE that the patch creates is already patched to retail.
-
UPDATE: - Fixed kof2002d and kof2k2nd. (really this time ) - Clones of samsh5sp now use the correct parent. - Fixed sf2toryu/sf2tory2 set names. - Fixed the default screen size so it no longer clip the edges of the game-screen. (If you've run any previous versions of FBA-XXX or Pro, you'll need to choose 'Reset Screen defaults' to see the difference) - The following sets have been added: mslug5b, // Metal Slug 5 (Bootleg) - FBA-XXX Pro archive now includes all required files with the exception of the XBE. And can somebody please tell me how to re-create the problem where the emu crashes after trying to load an incomplete ROMset? I've tried several times with different sets and it always works correctly for me (waits 6 seconds then press B to return to menu).
