  1. The only reason you should share repacks is if you don't have the original file (like me). Some people usually end up deleting the original file(s). You should only share it when there aren't any others with the *official* release. IMO, if you do repack, I'd recommend using a popular format like Shiba said. If only it'd become a standard in the DC community to use DiscJuggler, but then again, the PSX community doesn't keep to the standard of BIN/CUE format...
  2. When will people learn to just stick with the "standards?" This yet another case of crazy people ripping DC games. Why not use CDI/DiscJuggler (pref. v2 or 3) format or, at the very least, Nero? Clone CD is alright, but you shouldn't have to require everyone to get different software just because you don't like DiscJuggler. At least Alcohol 120% cures this ailment.
  3. That's what I was going for, but I thought maybe we should add a Saturn section since we have a N64 and PSX section. It should be somehting like SMS/Genesis/32X/Sega CD. It doesn't have to list 32X or Sega CD because they can almost be implied.
  4. I've seen it on somebody's site. They said it was easy to find GD-Rs on the web (or maybe they said eBay). Either way, no matter how hard I searched I couldn't find any. It'd be great to have one, especially during the heyday of the DC since you could easily make backups w/o losing anything.
  5. Squats? I'm not sure on this since I never really bothered with weight training. Shiba, I was wondering if it was a man or woman. Either way it's still funny (probably funnier since it's a woman).
  6. Yeah, wars are never any good. What's worse is when it's on "religious" grounds (i.e. the Crusades) despite the fact that most major religions teach peace.
  7. Well, there was a kid in my high school who was named Dusty (or Dustin) Cox and there is/was a kid around my brother's age named BJ Cox. So just imagine what life would be like for them. I think they may have gotten the occassional jab, but that'd usually be enough to make them POed.
  8. Heh, that'd be cool. Speaking of DC MP3 players, if only there were commercially available GD-R burners and readers/players. I could possibly use up a GD-R if I added more of the music I kinda like. Heck, I could just add video game sound tracks if I needed to fill more room (like Megaman stuff).
  9. Eh, I'm not really into sports games, especially not soccer/football. I wonder if the Twisted Metal Collection or Crash Bandicoot Collection rips would work with the beta? After all, they use a homebrew loader. Maybe, if Crash 1 &/or 2 &/or 3 work on it, I could actually play Crash 1 and the others unlike on the PSX, which freezes on the first level (Crash 1). I'd rather have the Crash collection work over the TM collection as 3 & 4 (don't know if it has 4 or not) suck and I didn't like Vigilante 8 (which is on the collection also). Also, V8 is on the DC.
  10. I don't know if they really gave a flying frag. All I know is they pretty much wanted to make the DC equivalent of the PS1 w/ TFT monitor (I think that's what it is). Either way, you can still play backups as long as they're in data/data format.
  11. Have a religion if you want. I won't judge because everyone is entitled to their opinion. Who am I to say what did and didn't happen? I wasn't there, so I can only rely on what information people have chronicled and archeologists discover. If there really is supernatural stuff in this world, it would be hard to prove. After all, it's hard to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that it doesn't exist. What was my point? Dunno, other than maybe enjoy your freadom of religion.
  12. CRC stands for cyclic redundancy check and it's used to check if you have the "right" roms or not. If you use WinRAR for your zips, it'll show you the files CRC as one of the details. Nevermind the hex part, if you understand what I meant by the rest, there shouldn't be any problems. It's odd that you had to do the Win98 compatibility as I didn't need to do that for XP.
  13. IIRC, the sub contains the sub channel data and the img is the actual ISO. You need all the files when burning the image unless someone made a CUE sheet for it. It's odd that people release the games in Clone CD format with the CCD and everything, but also include a CUE sheet.
  14. Check MegaGames for tutorials for other software. I know for sure they have a tutorial on using CDRWin, but I'm not sure about the others (I think it may have a Nero tutorial).
  15. That link is curtesy of Agozer, BTW. If it wasn't for him, I probably wouldn't have known it existed (since I don't bother with BIOSes usually).
  16. Yeah, I know that the site's probably coded bad, but it's my only source for Neo Geo hacks. Not that all are that impressive, but some like the Metal Slug series hacks are fun to mess with. PlasticSlug, use the SpywareBlaster software that I mentioned above. It'll prevent you from downloading (or whatever) tracking cookies. You could also search for Cookie Cop. It'll let you regulate which sites you can get cookies from.
  17. You could just rename the Sega forum. Make it a general forum for Sega pre-Dreamcast emulation. Or you could create a Saturn board since there isn't one and rename the Genesis to Master System/Genesis like the NES/SNES forum.
  18. Opinions, opinions. Don't forget about Buddha, he affected millions around the world. Also, the "historical" evidence sounds more like heresay rather than actual evidence. Currently, nothing supports the idea that there was a Nazareth in Israel, not even the historian Josephus, that you've mentioned.
  19. I would, but IE is such a pain to uninstall. I liked Mozilla, but some sites aren't rendered correctly with it (or FireFox). Case in point: Dream Generation. If you go to the downloads section of the hack roms, you can't click the main link "expanding" it showing the hacks available for the game.
  20. Well, you could always rip the FMVs to fit *cringe*. I've tested some of the games on it. I don't remember all that worked, but I thought MMX6 did (been awhile, though).
  21. Heh, that's always fun. Sucks about how it works though. I don't need my DC for MP3s (PC neither). I have a CD/MP3 player (walkman and stereo ). I don't personally need those huge ones (>700MB) since regular CD-R/W work just fine for my collection.
  22. It costs that much mainly because they're essentially custom made. They look cool and everything, but I'm personally not going to spend that kinda money on a portable DC. Mine will work just fine. If I ever want to play imports, I can just use my Gameshark CDX or Utopia Boot CD. BTW Cominus, just because it's multiregional doesn't mean it can play audio/data rips. I think it probably can, unless its BIOS (or whatever prevents audio/data MIL CDs from booting) is based on the newer DCs.
  23. You can use Alcohol or Clone CD. You just need to load up the.ccd file. They're kinda like a CUE sheet, except more complicated.
  24. Yeah it's from Samurai Shodown. When I use Proximitron, though, it blocks the image and I get a Fortune City image instead. I can't believe he thinks the Sega/Mega CD is crap, but wants a Power Ranger rom.
  25. Well, GryphonKlaw, the Bill of Rights must have been VERY loosely based on the Ten Commandments then. No laws match other than theft and murder. I don't know if we've ever had laws on adultery, definitely not coveting, and probably not about keeping the Sabbath. Blasphemy wasn't taken into account either. The whole "based on" argument crumbles when you realize they only kept the "biggies."
