Who are your favorite game developers?
valovedder replied to Gryph's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
I'd have to go for Yu Suzuki ( Outrun, F355, Shenmue) and of course Miyamoto. Hdeo Kojima for his vision with Metal Gear. I beleive the future rising star to be Toshihiro Nagoshi for Super Monkey Ball and the latest F Zero. -
As an avid reader of Edge Magazine ( the gaming bible) and all this talk of which console is best. I remembered a lonely individual with to much time on his hands, who went through all issues from 1 to 136, collating all scores for all games on all platforms to find which Edge rated highest. This only goes as far back as saturn as that was when the Mag started, but here are the findings. CONSOLE Average Score N64 6.91 Saturn 6.80 Playstation 6.62 Dreamcast 6.41 GBA 6.32 Gamecube 6.13 Playstaion 2 6.12 Xbox 5.94 So they rate the N64 as the best console. However when the same was done for console manufacturers and the games they released the results were: CONSOLE Average Score Sega 6.62 Nintendo 6.50 Sony 6.37 Microsoft 5.94 So Sega it seems produce the better games. Another point of interest is that thee average score for PC games was 6.95. Higher than any of the consoles. Sorry if that dragged on but thought you night be interested. Oh forgot Edge scores games out of ten.

Like i said the two machines are different gnerations. The Dreamcast was supposed to compete with PS2. We all know what happened there. Don't get me wrong i loved my Dreamcast and it had amazing games. But i still feel that if i had to choose one it would be the Playstation.
-
I think that the Dreamcast was a better and more capable console that never got the backing that it deserved. But then it was a generastion ahead. However the impact of the Playstation cannot be underestimated, and for me it wins. It has a greater variety of games and some truely awesome stuff, FFVII etc, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, Gran Turismo, all awesome with nothing on the dreamcast to match!!

Totally agree with ya there. The first movie has to rate as one of the all time scariest movies ever. I was such a chicken crap that i couldn't look into the tv for ages after without waiting for some crazed chick to crawl out.

I would have to say that on the whole the Snes was a better console. But i always prefered Genesis. Streets of Rage has never been bettered, Gunstar Heroes. Always Likes Sonic (in 2D form) more than Mario. So Genesis gets my vote.

I got it working. I had to use 1964 with Jabos direct3d7 1.40 video plug-in. I was using this plug-in with PJ64 so i still have no understanding why it didn't work. Is 1964 a better program as it seems to be running games that PJ64 couldn't i.e Banjo Tooie and Donkey Kong 64.?? Oh thanks for the help gryph.
-
Yeah man, it is the only one that will not work. i only have 256 DDR ram but all other games work fine. I have tried running it with no other apps running and still no joy.
-
Thanks man. i have done that but still no joy!! any more ideas?
-
i'm trying to play conkers bad fur day on PJ64 and when i try to run i get message " not enough memory for rom". Is this because it requires the expansion pack? If so is there an option i'm missing in the emulator to add this?? Thanks for any help.

crackdown on illegal software downloading
valovedder replied to PLasticSlug's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
I see no problem with using p2p for these reasons. Downloading games for systems older than psx. The companies r no longer making money from these systems as their are no longer new games available. They make no money from second hand software sales, so the y should have no problem. I also use p2p as a way of testing things out. i.e if there is an album i'm not too sure i wil like i download it, listen, if i like i buy, if i don't i delete the file. -
Man i was feeling old then i read LSD's post. I'm 27 and have been playing games as long as i can remember. I have so much time as i only work 3 days a week as a printer. it's a cool job with good people and alot of gamers as it gives us stuff to do on our days off. I spend my time doing boring stuff like decorating my house and all manner of other grown up stuff. Spend all morning in the gym and all the rest of my freetime playing games, watching films and listening to music. Normal kinda stuff. Thats me!!!!

Hardest - Ikaruga, the most frustrating game ever. Easiest - Zelda, the Wind Waker - fanatastic experience but never truely challenging.

Heres my collection Valo's Collection. I look at all your collections abd i feel sad as mine is so feable. it also reminds me of all that i sold just over a year ago all my psx, n64, dc, megadrive, snes & master system. Why, oh, Why did i do it!!! It's a great tool for keeping track of your games. Does anyone know if there is anything similiar for music???
