  1. UMK3 without sound, anyways.
  2. I'm in the middle of doing button mapping changes as well as dip switch and nvram changes for a few of the things mentioned earlier in the thread. Changes for 2 on 2 NHL Open Ice, NBA Jam, NBA Jam TE, NBA Hangtime: Set default players from 2 to 4 Set coins to USA 3 (1 coin start, 1 coin continue) Set buttons to console defaults (L/R turbo, X/Y pass, A/B shoot) Volume set to highest within test menu (even Open Ice, which you won't hear sound in anyways) Changes for Mortal Kombat 1 and 2: Set coins to USA 3 (1 coin start, 1 coin continue) Set buttons to console defaults (L/R block, X high punch, A low punch, Y high kick, B low kick) Volume set to highest within test menu Changes for Mortal Kombat 3 and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3: Set coins to USA 3 (1 coin start, 1 coin continue) Volume set to highest within test menu Changes for Darkstalkers, Night Warriors, Vampire Savior, Vampire Savior 2, Street Fighter 2, Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition, Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Super Street Fighter 2, Super Street Fighter 2 X, Marvel Super Heroes, Marvel Super Heroes Vs Street Fighter, Marvel Vs Capcom, Street Fighter Alpha, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3: Set buttons to console defaults (X low punch, Y medium punch, L trigger high punch, A low kick, B medium kick, R high kick) If anyone wants the first version of this pack of configs, let me know otherwise I'll just wait until I have more stuff to release first. EDIT: Also, something else that BP and you guys might find interesting... the Arcade Ambiance project: http://arcade.hofle.com/ Basically, they are mp3s that are an hour long each that were made to sound like you were in the middle of a huge arcade during certain years that were all being played at the same time. For example, the 1992 mp3 clearly has Ryu hadokens from Street Fighter playing along with Atari Tetris and several others. It's actually kind of fun to pick out the games you hear while listening. Anyways, thought these would be interesting to have play when in the coinops menu, but someone will need to convert to WMA format.
  3. if you are wanting to remap games then this is very easy to do. just go to the ingame menu as usual then go to general options or something like that, you should see the control options for up,down, left, right, button 1 and so on.just highlight one of the in game controls and hit the A button on your controller then select whichever button or control you want to use, then leave it and your new controller option should appear. That only works with games being run through the MAME core, but not the ones run through the Final Burn core (Street Fighter Alpha series, for example). I still haven't figured it out either.
  4. Something that I think would be helpful is the clarification of how XBox games are handled. It really wasn't very obvious to me that the shortcut XBE's needed to be in the Coinops root directory. It took me a while of moving them around before I finally figured it out, so having that clarified would be a great change for the Readme.
  5. My problem with Third Strike was actually a broken cache problem. Once I deleted the files in e:\CACHE\, it was back to working again, both alone and within Coinops. BP, I'll send you my configs sometime this weekend once I've got them all set up for multiple players as well.
  6. Yeah, I do have the full ShowROOM. I guess my mistake here was that I was moving everything from my old install of ShowROOM (the roms and everything) into the standalone Inferno instead of replacing them. I'll try that and let you know.
  7. Found the standalone version somewhere. So far, here's what I've seen. I cannot get Killer Instinct 1 or 2 to work at all, though they will show up in the ROM list. I properly followed your procedure to put the pointer zip files into the Roms directory and rescan. Screen goes black and my fan kicks in high and it stays like that if I attempt to launch them. Launching the KI1.xbe and KI2.xbe in the Coinops root results in the same thing. I've got the disc image files unzipped and sitting in the KI1 and KI2 directories in the Coinops root folder. They were pulled from my working version of ki-xxx. My copy of Street Fighter 3 Third Strike hasn't worked yet, but I'm going to guess it's because it has to be setup like the rest of the Xbox games so I'll try that a little bit later. I remapped the controls for the Mortal Kombat games to better match their console versions (SNES, PS1, etc). This maps them to the following: X - High Punch A - Low Punch Y - High Kick B - Low Kick L trigger - Run for MK games that use it, block for others R trigger - Block I also remapped NBA Jam and NBA Jam TE to match their console versions as well: X/Y - Shoot A/B - Pass L/R - Turbo I'm also planning on remapping all the Street Fighter-related games to match their console controls: X - Jab (light punch) Y - Strong (medium punch) L trigger - Fierce (hard punch) A - Short (light kick) B - Forward (medium kick) R trigger - Roundhouse (hard kick) If there's anyone that wants these updated configuration files, or if BP wants to include them in a future update, just say the word and I'll post a zip for you to grab. All in all, I'm pretty happy with what you've done here. Great job, BP. Thank you, and I might be interested in helping you out if you'll have me. I was working on a similar sort of set up for PS3 Linux until recently. Too bad PS3 Linux didn't have the same performance as the Xbox thanks to various issues with how Sony implemented it.
  8. Don't expect to do this sort of thing very much. Ridge Racer was a launch title and was extremely small compared to the average game. Also, it was almost all nothing but CD audio, which is why it got down so small. This is the exception, not the rule, so don't get too excited.
  9. Congrats on the release. Looking at the list of games you posted elsewhere... this is going to be absolutely HUGE. Saw that it was "in the wild" but haven't found it anywhere yet. Anyone got a link?
